  1. I know this topic is old, but is there an update on the case you filed for your father?

    Hi,

I am also petitioning for my father and was born out of wedlock. I am including my birth certificate and the laws of both Mexico and California regarding the legitimacy portion. I am also including my baptism certificate, photos of my father with me as a child, and letters he sent when my parents separated.

  2. I did the same thing, just submitted 485 for my husband and stepdaughters. We refused the vaccinations in their country. They are on my insurance now and have been tested for or given all necessary vaccines in their annual physical I have scheduled, free as preventative visits.

We did not submit the 693 so i am expecting a courtesy letter. We will have to pay $75 a person (using HSA acct) to transcribe onto the 693 all the vaccinations, but MUCH cheaper than out of pocket for all 3. Vaccines are super expensive in their home country, would have been another $200-300 each.

Hoping it all works out in the end, just got NoA1 today.

I'm wondering why you say that it will 2-3 months after approval? Once you have an approval and your case number you are then in the drivers seat to complete your interview. I'd add more tips for you but you haven't completed your profile. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

    Thanks

I was thinking same thing, 2 months or so after the approval NOA2 because of time it takes to get to NVC and then your case number. Is that not correct?

So calling I found out I got Rfe on 02/23 but I still haven’t received the letter & isn’t updated online. That is frustrating:(

I called and they said I got an RFE too. They said they sent the letter 2 weeks ago. Still no letter. That is frustrating. But what can I do but wait.

Applied 10/15/18 and got NOA2 Approval 2/12/2019. Now we wait some more but very pleased it only took 109 days to approve. NVC arrival and departure next.

Congrats! Applied 10/5 NOA1 date 10/12. Still waiting on NOA2. Same country Dominican Republic here. Following your timeline, hope the process goes smoothly on out for you. I will ask you some questions later if you don’t mind!
