it is possible - however, I never submitted any of my documents to the embassy. I have had several people who have been approved who informed me they did not submit documentation to NVC just brought everything to the interview. but from my understanding the police certificate is more so necessary for the interview purpose vs the financial aspect they look into to make sure you can financially support your significant other.

According to what I have read, the doctor will discuss what vaccines will be needed. Not sure if it would end up being be all of them. These are all common vaccines that we get in the US throughout our lives so...Anyone that has gone through this step please chime in because I am also curious about this. The list of vaccines is long.

SO when my fiance went he took everything lol... I believe all you really need though is the appointment confirmation, his passport, and money to pay for fees which is all . AS far as records he never has gotten vaccinated that we know of and had no record. If you husband does not have any records of the vaccines he has already gotten, then he more than likely will receive the vaccines over again as precautionary purposes. I know there are a little few differences between the Fiance and Spouse visa's but I would think this portion is pretty straight forward and similar.

Yes, I would recommend getting all required vaccinations done before receiving the NOA2, as some of them take a few weeks to do.  Go to the DR consulate medical page on VJ and find out the specific vaccinations required, then find the least expensive place to get them done, and do them and keep the records.  Take the records to the medical when scheduled and it will save time and money.  If you go to the medical with no records of any prior vaccinations, all of them will be done by the "official" providers in the DR, typically much more expensive than what you could get from public medical clinics.  Some are even free.  It is a good idea to get these documents ready before receiving the NOA2, so you are ready to submit everything at the NVC stage when it arrives.  Doing this also gives you something to do, and not just wait and worry.  All the best!

    Hello everyone,

I decided to make this group based off of another member's suggestion and my experience here on visa journey.
Of course, different beneficiary countries will have different experiences in obtaining the final visa, the interview process, the medical exam, fingerprinting, etc., etc.
I also had a difficult time at first getting specific answers tailored to getting my Dominican spouse to the U.S. because of the diversity in countries on the I-130 Filer groups per month.
So this group is to answer questions for those with Dominican beneficiaries. Please feel free to also add any recommendations, experiences, updates in regards to same.

Thank you! and Good Luck to everyone

Hmm, odd. Its obvious that your husband is divorced from his ex. Maybe USCIS wants proof that your husband was residing in DR when the divorce in DR happened (since DR has been known as a "divorce mill"):

You're a life saver! I found the links to the prices of the medical exam and the vaccinations you mentioned. I'll add the links below for whoever needs it (there are two links, one for each of the two approved offices):

I hadn't realized they were so expensive Do you know if every single one of those vaccinations listed are the ones needed?
Keep us updated on the process to get that police clearance.
Do you know if copies/originals of all the financial documents are needed for the interview as well?
My husband and I are both from Santiago. It looks like all of our husband are going to be doing a lot of long back and forth driving to la capital.

It doesn’t matter the date of when you get the birth certificate. One of the document does expire after 6-12 months and you would have to get another. I think it’s the certificate of good conduct I can’t remember I’ve read so much stuff lol. My husband is getting that certificate on Friday.
Its not necessary to get the vaccination card but it helps for the medical exam because there are so many vaccines that he would have to get and it will save money but if he doesn’t have it it’s ok. In the first link I posted there is another link of the clinic where he is supposed to get the exam and it has a list and prices of all the vaccines.
The proof of relationship is for the interview. You don’t need to send that to the NVC but it’s nice to have it ready or an idea of what you want to show them at the interview.
My husband is from San Pedro and works in punta cana. We’ll be going through the embassy in la capital.  And I don’t mind the questions at all. That is why we are here.

Yes he met the baby when he was 3 months old. It’s tough.
Yeah I’m pretty sure you’ll get approval by February or March.
It’s pretty early for you to gather the documents but just to keep in mind you will need:
    Your tax/income info
    marriage certificate
his birth certificate (inextensa only, not extracto)
his vaccination card if he can get it from the doctor he normally goes to
    certificate of good conduct
if he has been in the military, a document for that
proof of relationship (photos, shared property, plane tickets, etc.)
Here are a couple of links you can look at as well:

If he has had any vaccinations I would absolutely take records to his medical exam. IF he does not need repeated vaccines they can list on his paperwork he has had it done, and it saves you money since you literally are paying al a carte for each vaccination.  If they feel he needs to have it repeated due to the amount of time since being administered they will do so, but if he can avoid getting the same vaccine its worth a shot, and again it saves you some money.

Hi guys my husband filed last Aug as well.
    Married; April 19,2018
I can't clearly recall the date when he mailed it but the NOA1 date is Aug 23, 2018-Texas Service Center

I saw in other threads that some June filers are starting to get approved usually from Potomac service center (w/c by the way according to their processing times table thay range from 9.5 to 12.5mos so they are clearly moving fast). Hopefully the other service centers move fast as well.

Hi all! So glad to find this space, looking forward to seeing everyone's progress!

    We got Married May 2018
Lawyers managed the filing and payment, and also didn't attach the g1145 form so I haven't received any email or text from uscis. (!!!)
I-130 sent on August 24 2018 to Chicago lockbox
It was received by uscis Texas Service Center on August 29 2018
Our priority date is August 29 2018

No updates following NOA1 as of Nov 28 2018... fingers crossed!

    Good luck everyone!

so from my experience it took 2 weeks to obtain my case number, and then 3 weeks for them to send it to Santo Domingo. Once I got the case number I began the Visa Application form, and paid the fee. I printed confirmation of everything, even took a screen shot showing that I paid my visa fee on my phone and printed that out as well.

I scheduled his appointment the next day after completing the visa application and paying the fee, but I scheduled out at least 2 weeks to allow time for them to receive our packet. NVC sends the packets in groups to the countries of origin through DHL and it took about 3-5 business days to get there. I went to this website another visa journey member provided me and these are the instructions she told me to follow:

www.dhl.com clicked Express then Tracking, then Track by Shipper's Reference, on this page you add your search info..You change the day and month to what you think your's might have left NVC
    EXAMPLE:
    * Shipper´s Reference : EXP 24 MAR 2011A
    * Date range for shipment - From: 23 - 03 - 2011
    * Date range for shipment - To: 26 - 03 - 2011
Account Number - Leave this blank
Shipment Destination: Dominican Republic / You Choose your Country

I put in the date I received my case number for the shippers reference. The fingerprinting I believe they do that at the interview portion. My fiance just had his physical, X-Rays and his vaccination done and then we scheduled his interview for the 1st available - (make sure to give at least 10 days for the results to be available) HE picked up his results in a sealed envelope that he takes to his interview on Monday.

Once you schedule his medical I would begin gathering all the documents he will need to take with him to his interview. I scanned everything in and sent it to my email, and my fiance went and printed everything out since I cant be there and cannot send the paperwork in the mail. IF you need any help or questions do not hesitate to reach out. I would be more than happy to try to help or answer any questions you have

Unless process has changed in the last month, the fingerprinting is done at the VAC in the Galleria 360 about a week before the interview. When fee is paid, 3 appts are scheduled: VAC for fingerprinting, medical, and interview.

    Hi,

You will receive I-797 NOA stating whether your case was approved and that your petition was sent to NVC (National Visa Center). It took my case roughly 6 months to get the letter the petition was approved.

You can see the status of your case through the USCIS website just sign up
    https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

Once it sent to NVC you can check your status pay for fees etc through the website below. You need a case and invoice number to log on. Which you can get by calling the NVC customer phone number
