We sent our package on June 24th and just received the extension letter I-797 today (Phoenix center).

Is there other letters we can expect from USCIS as well? I thought there were 3 notices for some reason, including one that says if the biometrics are being reused or not.

We did receive a separate letter that arrived the same day stating that biometrics could be re-used along with another notice for our daughter (k2 visa) with her online access code.

My Timeline for I-751 so far
    Package sent : Jun 24th 2023

    Packet reached : Jun 27th 2023

USCIS update 1 : Jun 30th 2023. Case received and receipt notice sent

USCIS update 2 : July 4th 2023. Case is being actively reviewed by USCIS.

    Question:

    1. I haven’t received any letters from USCIS yet. How long does it take to receive the receipt notice ?
    2. Also, Has anyone’s case updated to “case is being actively reviewed”. Any idea what it means ?

thanks for your time and support in this group

Im sure a lot depends on where you are located but to give you an idea of when you might get a receipt notice we sent the I-751 petition on 5/25/23 to the Phoenix lockbox. We received an I-797 notice of action from the Nebraska Service Center that the validity of the permanent resident card was extended for 48 months on 6/8/23. Our case status has also changed to "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS" after sending the receipt notice. This just means the application is being processed.

  3. Hi,

I don't know your situation but many of us here are going through or have gone through the immigration process ourself or with our loved one. We have all ran into relationship issues at some point and for many of us couples we have dealt with homesickness, relying on 1 income, not being able to drive, blended families, etc. If you have not already done so I would highly encourage you to inquire about some couples counseling or pre-marriage classes. You can find licensed marriage counselors online or if you are of a particular faith through your church. It seems a waste to get this far in the process and just return home. If nothing else, maybe the counseling could help provide a cordial separation and a sense of knowing you both tried your best but it just didn't work out. In the meantime look up some free videos on youtube by Dr. John Gottman and watch them together. He founded many of the studies that modern day relationship counseling and books are based on. I hope everything turns out well for the both of you.

  4. Hi All,

I (U.S citizen) have used this forum and a few other fb groups for getting my k1 with k2 visa application submitted for my fiancee and 8 year old child who live in the Philippines. Everything has gone smoothly so far and yesterday we received an email that our approved case was being sent to the U.S embassy in Manila, so the status now says "In Transit" when checking the ceac site. I have done some research on the next steps and wanted to run it by anyone here willing to take a look at it and make sure we are are proceeding correctly. We are planning to do the following next:

    1. Fill out 2 forms to pay the visa fees at http://ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-paymentinfo.asp?fbclid=IwAR2GQjypbJimKXkS7iYdpVfkz_XrK_P3UspxLos5_lc-EeQHekgL3fTzPHE . One for my fiancee and another for her daughter who will be the k2.
    2. Print the 2 forms from the link above and go to BPI branch and pay the $265 x2 fee
    3. Go over the documents requirements at https://ph.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/ and have her obtain Birth Certificates for her and daughter, Cenomar, NBI Clearance, Passport style photos for both of them. I already provided her with an exact copy of our initial K1 packet when I visited last month so she should have plenty of relationship evidence from that. We might print off a few more pictures from that trip for good measure.  All of the initial evidence was from trips and correspondence prior to 2019.
    4. Wait for case status to say Ready for Interview
    5. Once Ready for Interview is shown as status, schedule embassy appointment at https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?fbclid=IwAR0uMmfo0kFYpQVZoFwFAHloXxW0TpcoVBPcUolhMjcX0YkVE2d0pOu6hHw
    6. Fill out DS - 160 forms for her and daughter at https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx?fbclid=IwAR00eflFXlJn9pWySpnUhuN4cXSmekT3KojKkfrdL54Xrw3nW8O3nq-TsVw
    7. Set medical appointment a week or two before interview at http://www.slec.ph/us/registration/?fbclid=IwAR23tdSjEyMFKxLEOePLOC4zQT7UvhQ03hW5y8-sIogI48bM3zlGyOAeDNQ
    8. Setup CFO appointment at https://cfo.gov.ph/gcp.html?fbclid=IwAR15LTntf3BsqMimRsDIcGY_3gasaZgiKradS6cCFWxPMMS1ne8fBkWty3g
    9. Finally, get her approval and fly them home to me!

Does that all sound like the correct documents and order I should do everything in?

  5. I am unsure if the Multiple Filer Waiver Request applies to my situation. I petitioned someone in 2008 using the k1 visa and was approved, we were married in 2009 until that marriage ended in divorce in 2016. I am currently engaged and want to petition my fiancee using the k1 visa. The current wording on the Style Sheet Instructions for I-129f state:

"Item Numbers 5.a. - 5.d. Multiple Filer Waiver Request. You must request a waiver of the International Marriage Broker Regulation Act (IMBRA) filing limitations if: 1. You are filing this petition on behalf of your fiancé(e) and you previously filed Form I-129Fs on behalf of two or more fiancé(e) beneficiaries;"

The way I am interpreting this is if you have already filed twice and my current petition would be a third but I would like to get some clarification.  Does anyone have any personal experience with this recently or can possibly shed some light on it for me?
