  1. Do are you saying.... if I just goto the Phil's to get married.... it is possible that we do not have to wait for 10 business days...from applying for license...to receiving it?  And I understand we cannot have civil ceremony...until we have license in hand.

I'm telling you one way of doing it. I can't vouch for any other process nor can I confirm this information. This is something that two or three couples did and it worked for them. You mileage may vary.

If it is to personal to answer my question as to why the CR-1 now when you have a K-1 visa in hand I understand? Doesn't make any sense to me why you are pursuing this avenue hence the question.

I do not have K-1 anymore....she came and went already. :(  Unless she can enter a 2nd time....first K-1 would have expired Dec 20th.

CR-1 will take just as long as the K-1 and you are almost there with the k-1. Why you want to make the change. Sorry, I'm confused.

This is how you can do it within a 2 week window but all your ducks have to line and the stars shine bright for this to happen but it can be done.

Have your fiancée go to her local registrar and advise them of your intentions to send a blank marriage application to you here in the states and that you her fiancé will be getting endorsements from a Philippine Consulate in the USA. If the local registrar agrees, she obtains the application and fax or scans as a PDF file and sends to you.

You in turn have to appear in person at one of the Philippine Consulate office here in the States. See website http://www.philippineembassy-usa.org/index.php?page=consulate-finder-main for the nearest Consulate Office. Present the marriage application with just your information filled in on the document. The counselor will endorse the marriage application verifying that this is you who is applying. Bring two ID's, preferable your passport and a pictured driver's license. You as the applicant will need to present the affidavit, death certificate or divorce decree signifying that you are free to marry along with the application and id's. I would call ahead and make an appointment and explain what you are doing and verify my details as to what is required before attending the process in front of a Philippine Consular.

Once you have the endorsements then send to your fiancée by LBC, DHL or other currier to your fiancée in the Philippines. She receives the original document with all endorsements from you and takes the marriage application to her local registrar for filing. She will fill out her part of the application when she is in front of the registrar. Again, she should bring two government ID's with her to validate her identity. She will receive the license either on that day or the next day. Each local registrar is different and she should verify all necessary documents that are required by her local registrar.

Applicants shall apply for the "Affidavit in Lieu of a Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage" at the Embassy's American Citizen Services Branch (US Embassy in Manila) by appointment only. There is a fee of $50.00 or its peso equivalent for the affidavit, payable in cash only. For those who do not want to experience the hustle and the bustle of Manila (like me), there is a U.S. Consular Agency in Cebu that you can visit to get this Affidavit.

One more item to add and that is required is the "Affidavit in Lieu of a Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage" which will be required. After landing in Manila you can go over to USEM to get your affidavit. Follow the instructions below:

If you are marrying in the Catholic Church this will not work in 10 days because you are required to take the marriage class required by the church.  If you are going to do a "Justice of the Peace" style wedding you can pull this off in 10 days.

If she is between the age of 18 to 21 she must have parental consent in writing, those age 21 to 25 must have written parental advice (a written indication that the parents are aware of the couple's intent to marry).

These are your first steps and you should begin the process about three weeks before your trip to PI.

Further details are on the embassy website here: https://ph.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/local-resources-of-u-s-citizens/getting-married/?_ga=1.81702100.234670941.1488281707 or call The Embassy's American Citizen Services Unit at (632) 301-2000, Ext. 2246.

A couple of things.... I thought there was a 10 day period...from filing for marriage license...and getting it?  Followed by the civil ceremony...You made it sound like it could be gotten in one visit? … or possibly two visits..within 24 hours.

If that is the case....then can't we just get it together?  It was the 10 business day wait...that I thought was going to eat up all my time.

Also...we plan on a civil ceremony.... I thought ALL wedding in Phil's....required the seminar (and family planning)?  You telling me....no seminar required...if civil ceremony?  That will also reduce the time.

Yes...I understand I will need to visit the embassy in Manila...and like you said...gotta fly in there anyway.

    She is 31 years old.

    Thanx.

The wedding will be after you're issued your K-1 visa?

No.... we want to get married in the Phil's.... long story....ignore the K-1 thing.  :)

Or where ever it can be done quickly...so we can apply for CR=1

  5. I just started a new job....and so getting time off will be difficult.

My research says...it will take 2+ weeks to get married in the Philippines....which is probably not possible for me.

I understand...there are several countries in which she could travel...without a visa.  Do any of these countries....offer something like a 'Vegas' style wedding, where we could get married with ease....and not have to be there...for two weeks?

    Thanx!

Hi everybody, my son got a text message from 2GO courrier on  Sept 26 around 9AM to deliver his visa but they never come. Im a little bit worried now.

Same thing with us.... got text saying it would be that day.... and nothing!

So fiancée went to office the next day..... and is seemed as though they never intended to deliver it....even though that is the option we had selected.  :)

Just go and get it.... but in the event they do try and deliver it... make sure someone has a copy of the ID...back at the home place...lest they try and deliver...while you are trying to pick it up.

Thank you allll for your consistent help haha. CEAC status now changed to "Issued" after 1 day...

Just went through this in the last couple of weeks....see my timeline...

Yes...I also went to 'issued' in 24 hours.

Visa was at the local 2Go office in 4 business days....from interview....hehehe....but 2GO (Vigan, Phil) was less than stellar.....finally just went and picked it up....on the 5th (business) day.

So if I wear a nice polo shirt and a nice pair of long jeans to the interview with my fiancee do you think that will be fine?  Or should I wear like Kaki pants instead?

When is your interview... my fiancée's is Thursday.

Hehehe.... just don't look like a bum.... she is the focus of the interview...hehehe..

Hey....if you don't mind....can you post the questions she was asked....after interview???  A couple of us....are right behind you...hehehe.

    Clark Polytechnic Compound,
Jose Abad Santos Ave., Clark Freeport Zone

    Telephone: (045) 499-8119

     Email: info@cfo.gov.ph

Hehehe....you don't know me well.... But Friday alone....I called North of 100 times...

And you guessed it.... no answer on all of them!  (And yes...I am calling based of Philippine business hours.. :)  )

And yes...earlier in the week...send e-mail request....and you guessed it.... no answer on email.

How ever...I can not get past the part...where they say... WE DO NOT TAKE APPOINTMENTS.... In all caps....am I just reading that wrong?

    :)  Doug

  10. Hehe....but Clark (supposed) appointment page....has look liked that for weeks?

You would think....when no one showed up with an appointment for a few weeks.....they might think something is wrong?

… But based on the fact....they emphatically state..... No appointments accepted.... I think this site....is intentionally left this way.

Not sure why you are thinking Clark is first come, first served.     Don't need help .. need to click the link provided earlier  ;)

I found the appt "button"  for Clark within moments of clicking on the link I gave you.

APPT-    https://cfo.gov.ph/gcp.html    <<  and after you click the Clark button on that page you get this page  >>    https://cfo.ph/GCP-Clark-Appointment/

    Hehe.....Been there....Done That....50 times....

If you actually follow through....(you can create a dummy account easily...you will only ever end....at this.... (see attachment).

It appears....at first....like they have an appointment page.... like the others....but I think the reality....is different.

    And....numerous places....they say...First Come...First served....NO appointments.

Would you believe   .....    http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/cfo-orientation-seminar.html   Information on Clark and the new Davao office is there.  ;)

    All locations require appointments.   https://cfo.gov.ph/gcp.html

    https://www.cfo.gov.ph/images/CFO_NEWS/2018/New_Schedule_for_Clark_effective_July_11.pdf

Why do I keep reading....Clark is First come...first served?

I also can not find a place to make a reservation at Clark?

    Help...hehhee.

  13. Manila CFO schedule....is a couple of weeks out.... I understand CFO can also be done at Clark, on Wednesday afternoons.  I thought I had read... (but couldn't find again)… that they do not take appointments..... just the first 12 get in.

Anyone familiar with this?  I guess what I need to know....if this is the route we take....what are odds of success?  Or will we get there...only to find 30 people ahead of us....whom arrived 5 hours early?

    Thank You!

When my fiancée goes to Manila...she arrives from the North, so Clark is not out of the way.

  14. For those of you that have just recently gone through this (last 60 days)…. how much time did you see between CEAC "In Transit" …. To CEAC "Ready".

I know I cannot have my interview...until my CEAC status is "READY".

I also know....files are like snowflakes.....no two alike....just want to see...what others are experiencing.  :)

    Thanks.

Please only comment....if your file went through US Embassy...Manila.

(and specify.....total calendar days....or business days)

You can schedule the interview as early as you got your Case Number. Now that it is in Transit, it's safe with the timeline so I suggest schedule it asap.

My file also...shipped today.... There are interview slots just 5-7 days out....when you say ASAP.... you mean...10 business days out?????

My Fiancee will need a copy of the DS-160 Confirmation page for the medical on her second day?

    Nope.

Mine just finished day 2...and was never asked for it.

On day two...they wanted passport...and paid receipt from day 1.

  17. Hehe....Another total side bar....

I have read...that some people get their medical done in one day.  My Fiancee...finished day 1....at 10:30am.  She was not given any opportunity....to finish on day 1....

So how is finishing in one day possible...if being done at 10:30 am did not get her into that scenario?

    (Sorry...I am just a super curious guy. :) )

  18. Total side bar:

My future Bro-n-law (who is a nurse)...who took my Fiancee to St Lukes…..was waiting in the lobby (?), and I guess was able to witness a lot of people that had just gotten their sputum test results..... and apparently...'Fails' are not too uncommon, cause he said there was a lot of weeping, and gnashing of teeth....

But when they told my fiancée to come back tomorrow for results (after 1st day)....they said 9:00am...

We read into this....GOOD!  Cus if they wanted to do a sputum test....that is done early in the morning.  Is this a correct assumption?

    Thanks
