  1. Hello everyone

So I’ve filed for my AOS on the 31st of December and received the NOA1 on the 8th of January my NOA1 received date is the 2nd of January. I still haven’t received a biometrics notice, is this normal? My case is at the NBC

Do I need to call and make sure I have not missed my bio  appointment?

    Please advise thank you 😄

So is it true that interview dates are no longer limited to the last 2 weeks of the month on Thursdays and Fridays in the JHB embassy? I remember reading that somewhere but then never saw it again. .

Are all the Tuesdays and Thursdays of the month open for k1 visa interviews bookings..*Please Say Yes Please Say Yes!* 🙈

Yes the embassy has changed it policy and does interviews every Tuesday and Thursday k1 is only on Thursday that is what the medical office told me

    Hi,

We had our K1 interview on Nov 15th and the CO said everything is good and we are approved. And today when we checked the NVC status it shows "Administrative Processing", is it normal to show AP before Issued. We are expecting that the visa will be issued today Nov 16th but it was not. Should we wait before we contact the consulate?

Yes it is perfectly normal, I waited two weeks before it turned to issued. It takes a little longer if there are holidays in between interview dates it was Columbus day when I had my interview. So it takes longer

Hi! For those of you that have already completed the medical appointments, I just had a few questions I was curious about:

    1. Is 'packet 3' or the Visa Interview appointment letter necessary to make the medical appointment? Our case is currently 'Ready' at the US Consulate as of yesterday morning, but we weren't sure if we had to wait to be mailed or emailed something. I'm assuming that we'll eventually be emailed or mailed a checklist but we just wanted to make the medical appointment as soon as possible.
    2. If you don't have your immunization records is this a problem or does this mean that you'll just have to pay more for vaccinations you may already have gotten?
    3. Once you've completed the medical appointment, does the doctor mail your results directly to the embassy or do you have to collect your results following your appointment and bring them with you to the interview?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! My fiance would be going to the doctor in Cape Town.

Do you have the email address and/or website? The US Consulate in Johannesburg just received our case today so we finally have an interview date on 20-Dec... but my fiancé needs to go ahead and make an appointment to have the medical exam done when he’s off work in November (he is a game ranger so his work schedule is weird- 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off). Thanks for the help!!

    The Cape Town Panel Physician:

Dr. Brauer & Dr. N Sayed

    Suite 207, Level 2

Clock Tower Office Suites, V&A Waterfront

    Telephone:  + 27 21 419 1888

    Fax:   + 27 21 419 1886

    E-mail: reception@drbrauer.co.za

this is the information for the doctor in cape town that your fiance will be going to. If you dont have a  vaccination record it is fine, they will then give you a new one and when you dont have one in my experience I had my records but a few others didn't and required they received two or just one shot . All you need to book an appointment is the conformation of your interview date with your case number on it.  Also have you received the email from the nvc that it's on it's way to the consulate?

I would  recommend that you contact the consulate for packet 3 to see if they have your case and if they have processed it. I waited two weeks before the consulate contacted me and sent me packet 3. They normally send it via email.

Witu regard to the medical results, the doctors office in cape town and in Johannesburg sends the medicals to the consulate

Has anyone had experience communicating with the doctor's office in JHB through email? I called their office and was told to go to their website and send a message that way. However, I'm curious if I'll hear back from them. It's been at least 3 or so days.

I contacted them via their website and I recieved an email from them the following morning.  I would suggest you call back on monday and ask of they received the email they are tricky at the doctors office.

Hey guys, my visa is issued and on it's way. Just wanted to say thank you for all the help and reassurance as this process does make one on edge to think something is wrong when it's not. Thank you for the useful information you guys post.

I'm booked to leave the 28th. Thanks  again 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎊🎊🎊🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷

Some visa applications require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after the visa applicant’s interview by a consular officer. Applicants are advised of this requirement when they apply. Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of the visa interview. When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on the individual circumstances of each case. Your mileage may vary.

When the Embassy is ready to issue a visa, it will change to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application"; at that time, you will know that you are a few days away from getting the visa. It will go from "Immigrant Visa Application" to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application" status and then your visa changes to "Ready" ==> "Administrative Processing" ==>> "Issued" status as well. These steps sometimes transpire over a day or even a few days. Some smaller Embassy's it happens within hours.

Sometimes, it might skip "Administrative Processing" and go from "Ready" to "Issued".

    Thank you 😊

Everything you posted sounds normal.  Administrative Processing applies to all cases.  Some case take a longer time.  Congratulations....you are almost ready to enter the US.

Thank you, I’ve been a bit worried, when you google admin processing it’s sounds like a big term used for everything and then some say it’s a black hole.

    Thank you🌹

  11. Hello everyone

I have a really silly question to ask, I had my k1 visa interview on 4th of October and still haven’t received my passport. They said I was approved and  i called on Friday and they confirmed it’s approved, on the ceac website it says administrative processing, is this normal or am I worrying for absolutely nothing? Also I have to add when I went for my interview my medical wasn’t there. The medical was delivered to them last Wednesday.

    Sorry if this silly

    Thank you

    Ayeshacharles,

I have my fiance's interview scheduled for Nov 29th and was wondering how long after the interview does it take DHL to ship to her house?  I paid the upgraded shipping, but want to make sure we can arrange her flight. She's in the US with me now and will be flying back for the medical and interview, but we'd like it to be a short trip home.  Also, when scheduling the medical, do they require you interview appt confirmation?

    Dan

Yes for the medical you need to have the interview confirmation the instrustion page they have you print out with all the details and your case number.  The medical is fairly easy and they send you a list of required documents you need. I emailed them and they sent me a list of things.

The conusalte is extremely busy and there are lots of holidays coming up and that causes delay. There was one holiday this week Columbus day and the consulate is short on staff.  So it depends some get their visa in 2days others wait 2 weeks.

I also paid for the upgrade and I'm still waiting for them to issue my visa so it really all depends on how busy the consulate work load is and how many visas they are printing and reviewing a well.  And I scheduled a flight for this Sunday and now have to move it due to the delay.

Hope this helps. I wish you all the best .
