Also it might interest you to know that I never applied for C31 EAD..they tend to give it out when your application is approved! You may be receiving it anytime soon..or else I'm missing something..
Yes, actually it mentions that in the approval letter. Thank you!!!

Thank you!!!

@bebetho did you not receive your EAD C31 yet? I believe DMV will place more importance on the EAD...what's the point of keeping your EAD and opting to go with VAWA approval letter?😏 at least that's what I did.. Used my newly issued EAD to renew my DL and now it's good for another year!👍☺
No. I received my vawa approval... I am about to send my EAD application this week. I sent my vawa alone not along with the other applications.
-
Does anyone of you know if I can renew my DL with my VAWA approval letter?
thanks,
-
Does any one know how long it is currently taking for EAD and AP? I don’t know if vawa applicants check on Vermont center or national...
Is it better if you ask for both together (same card) or separately?
thanks,

O I wish my VAWA has been approved but not yet. I renewed my EAD under C9 and also requested Advanced Parole. They sent me another prima facie in April, it is valid for another 6 months. I am hoping that they will approve my case towards the expiration of the prima facie.
with all said thanks for following up with my case. It meant a lot to me
You will receive your approval soon, keep praying and let everything in god's hands!

I’m a March 2017 filer. Still no update, just the every two weeks updates if we are still working on your case. I recently applied for renewal of my EAD with Advance Parole in April and received my actual card June 1st. I pray I hear something good from them soonest. Congratulations to you 🎉🎊
Thank you!!!
If you are receiving your card it means that your vawa application has been approved, otherwise they don’t issue that card... I guess what you are waiting on is the adjudication to the local office for your final interview. Correct me if I’m wrong 🙈.
Im sure you will hear from them soon, keep trusting god!

Hello, Everyone.
I have been mostly a silent reader on this forum. First, I want to thank all of you for sharing you experience, knowledge and doubts with all of us.
As many of yours my journey has not been easy, like people say "the struggle is real" and the waiting really seems to never end...
Second, I am so happy to inform you that I finally got my approval notification this morning.
This is my timeline:
May 2017: Docs Received-fees were waived
June 6 2017: Prima facie
Dec 2017: Prima Facie Renewal
May 2018: Prima Facie Renewal
Nov 2018: Prima Facie Renewal
Jan 31 2019: Inquiry - Case Out of Processing Time
Feb 1st 2019: Request for additional evidence RFE (Good Moral Character)
April 15th 2015: RFE response received @ Vermont Center
May 5th 2019: Prima Facie Renewal
May 6th 2019: "Name Update" (I did not request this but I was told that this is an automatic notification when they touch your file/archive)
June 2019: VAWA Approved!
Yes, It is tough. The waiting, the thoughts, EVERYTHING is really crazy, specially after we have been through A LOT of stuff in a bad marriage. Words cannot describe how I feel right now, after so much time I can say that im starting to feel myself again.
I don't know what I would have done without this forum and the people that share their thoughts and experience here. I Specially thank my dear friend @Stillwinning!!!😊for being such an amazing support and listener/reader of my messages.
I promise I will share my timeline again when I finish my process with the GC application and everything.
Trust in god, he will always be there for everyone of us.
God bless you!

Hello, everyone.
My case is already out of processing time by few days now, I am May 2017 filler. My question is: Since we had the government Shut down, should I filled the inquiry now or just wait a bit longer just in case the date goes back?
I've heard that the system just continued to update by itself day by day, but I don't know if the weeks of the shut down will affect this considerably.
thanks for your response

Folks USCIS approved yesterday two cases that I filed in May 2018 and another one inJune 2018, but I still have many 2017 cases pending without adjudication.
Please when you hire an attorney read the forms that the attorney will file before signing , if the attorney typed the affidavit for you after listening your story then you must read the affidavit before signing,if something is not right do not sign and ask the attorney to fix it.
Yesterday one terrible attorney refunded 65% of the fees,of one visa journey member, that he paid to his attorney. I wrote a letter pointing all mistakes by the attorney and the person signed and mailed to the him.In December another attorney refunded 100% of the fees after I saw the mistakes done by him as well.
The attorneys don’t have to refund the fees paid if they did everything correct and Uscis denied ,but when there are terrible mistakes by the attorney you should ask your money back .
You must describe the courtship in details. Do not write the affidavits for your friends to sign, they should write down what they know about the relationship and abuse,if they know about the abuse, ask them to notariZe the affidavits .
oh wow, Mine is May 2017 and I still have not heard anything. Seem that this will never be over
So sad! but its really good for those who yet don't even have a year waiting

Good Day All,
I'm feeling very devastated right now. After waiting for more than 16 Months silence without any notice at all (Filled Vawa July 25, 2017), I just now got a text for an update and I logged on to my status check and I saw ''REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE WAS MAILED''. This has been my prayer point not to receive RFE, I'm feeling so disappointed after so long wait, OH LORD WHY? I no longer have appetites, sleepless nights and been hoping and praying for God's mercy. #Crying.
My questions, please how long till I get this notice in my mail, will it be sent to me or my lawyer? I changed state address/lawyer, I'm confuse to where I'll receive it. Also what could they be requesting and how should I tackle it. Any similar experience ? please share to me,
I will never give up, Lord let your will be done.
God bless all
Just relax, and leave everything on gad's hands. At least now you know they are working on your case. Im May filler two months before your date and I have not heard anything yet. Like many people say it can probably be something very simple. Best of luck and keep praying my dear!

I'm September 2017 filer. This waiting is killing me. I'm on the 3rd prima facie for 2 months. No update on my online account. Never have any emails state that they change my name or whatever. It's only silent.
same situation here, probably even worst than you since I am May 2017 filler... 😕

I had my Green Card interview yesterday in Santa Ana. Today I got the online update that my card is being produced. I am so happy right now! After 22 months, the journey is coming to an end!
the interview itself was very simple. They called me 45 minutes after my appointment time, the interview then lasted for maybe 15-20 minutes. I had a female officer who was very cold. She put me under oath first and asked for my passport. Since it is a new once that I haven’t used to travel, she also asked to see my old one with my visas and entry stamps. She then asked me to confirm my personal information that’s on the I-485 form (full name, DOB, citizenship, address, marital status, etc.). Since a few things had changed for me since filing the form back in 2016, my attorney handed her a piece of paper listing all the changes. She then asked my about my occupation and noted the changes on her form in red. Then she asked me a lot of the yes/no questions, which I answered with no of course. She then asked about my first visa and if I ever entered on the visa waiver program, which I answered yes to. She had her own printout of my entry/exit history into the US. She then said that she will review my case until the end of the day and let me know if she needs anything else. I didn’t hear back yesterday but just got the update that my card is being produced. Hoping it will be here fast!
Congrats, this is amazing. Im so happy for you. God is charge!

First of all I want to take this chance to thank God, sandraj and everyone for your moral support, I remember when I posted my issue the only response she gave was, yes you have a strong case and you will have an approval. My case was due to mental, sexual, financial, and physical abuse but with physical I never reported it, so It was just in my affidavit, I went to the ywca and because I had just gone there for 1 week the just wrote a two sentence letter asking the person who will receive the letter that they are assisting me.
2: I had a restraining order valid for I think 14days
3. Marriage certificate
4. Our lease
4 bank statement
5: a letter from one friend, because everyone did not want to associate with me.
6: my 6 pages my affidavit
7: and form i 360
I was not able to obtain a moral character report from the police and yes i was waiting for their letter requesting the same.
15 June 2017 -i sent the package
19th june _ package recieved
No request for moral character report, no premia facia and I was not sure what was happening.
Total silence until 15th oct 2018 form I 360 approved
I feel blessed very blessed.
this brought tears to my eyes, I can totally relate how you probably felt... specially during those moments when we feel hopeless and in a deep confusion bc we don't really know whats going on. Thanks for sharing your I-360 Journey. God is amazing and I know he's in charge of all of us.

Information on Name Change During Naturalization
in US Citizenship General Discussion
Posted · Edited by bebetho
Here is my situation...
I became Resident of the USA 7 years ago, on my green card I have Mario Lopez but on my birth certificate I have Mario Antonio Lopez Ortiz...
I Started Using just Mario Lopez since I became legal resident. Actually on my divorce papers says (formerly Ortiz) and now that I want to apply for Naturalization I don't know what name would be the right now.
What Should I do?
Thanks
