I am wondering the reason why NVC can reject a document that they listed as an acceptable document for immigration visa purposes.

In fact, We submitted the birth certificate of my spouse to NVC for review. We submitted " Declaration de Naissance" which everyone in Togo uses as a prime birth certificate.  Two weeks later, we received a note saying that it is an unacceptable document, therefore, we should submit an acceptable document.  According to the instruction for reciprocity document for my spouse's country, Togo, they listed some forms of the birth certificate that are acceptable for immigration purposes. So we went for  "Extrait d'Acte de Naissance"  which is also used as an official document. We submitted it and two weeks later the review came again as an unacceptable document. At the end of the day, we don't know what exactly the officer who is reviewing our case want. Because if we used the prime document and it is unacceptable, the alternative document also is unacceptable, thus we don't know what they want.   Please, could someone tell me what we should do at this point? or somebody has a similar situation and tell us what we should do?    Below is the link to the instruction for the reciprocity document for Togo. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Togo.html

    Thanks

call NVC and ask for supervisor or tier 2 he will resolve your problem

My fiance and I FINALLY received word that his interview is scheduled for May 28, 2019. I had been emailing the embassy DAILY for at least a month, and they sent me a response on May 15th that his interview was scheduled for MAY 28TH!! By the grace of god, we are going to be able to pull off the medical exam and translate the documents, but I am so confused as to how to pay the fee. Some say you pay the fee on the day of the interview, some say you have to pay ahead of time, but paying at a bank requires printing of the deposit slip from the US Travel Docs site. There is no location from that site to actually print a slip for a K-1 visa for Morocco. Does anyone know the correct way? This is crucial. Thank you in advance.

Also, any tips from anyone that has recently gone through the interview process, as in within the last few months?

K1 fee is paid at the consulate on the day of interview so make sure he take the money with him in moroccan dirhams.. good luck...

they know your case # ,  yes

but if you send documnets without indentifying that these papers go to your case,  they can be misplaced

we always label documents when sending to immigration

casa now has a hundred or more cases sitting there for review

if you don't put that number on the papers and you take chances they will search thru all cases to put them with the right case,  that takes time delaying the process

    also   ,  immigration looses papers

you would be taking a big chance

it is already submitted through CEAC under my civil documents they asked for MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE (1st MARRIAGE-FINAL DIVORCE DECREE) they already have my divorce so they asking for certificate of my first marriage for divorce they already have right ?

emails may still come saying to do this

just make sure before you scan it that your case # and both names and both DOB's are printed in the upper right hand corner making sure your document goes to the right case

adil rafa its going to be uploaded in my CEAC account they already know what case it is its under my name civil documents, i do not have to send original by mail, it just scan and upload to my account to missing document..

We have had 11 updates from December until April 16th and then STOP. Zero since :(

We have gotten NO updates since April 16. I have sent a a dozen Email inquiries since then.

Yes a dozen. I am sorry, but I will not sit and just wait for nothing. I remain Proactive. Anyhow, My congressman inquired about our Visa this week. He received an Email letter from the Consulate

(Thank you but no thank you...No one knows and every case is different blah blah blah) generic type of letter.

Still No Update. Not even after a Congressional Inquiry???

…Anyone know why? Experienced the same?

    Thanks :)

if the petitioner in Morocco with you, would make infopass and check what is going on .....

    Hi!

On April 16th my husband and I had our interview in the DR.  There was a problem in their computers regarding our case that they had to fix, we were given back my husbands passport and a white 221g, which stated that nothing was required of us besides his passport back when the time came and they asked for it.  The IO said our case looked fine but it was something on their end that needed to be done and that we should hear from them in 2 weeks.  Our case went from AP->Ready->AP and then we were contacted via email on May 3rd to deposit his passport.  We deposited the passport on Tuesday May 7th due to me not seeing the email, as it went to my work email.  The passport was confirmed as being there as of yesterday May 9th.  I checked our status today just to check, I didn't expect anything to happen with our case and I was right, it was still in AP with an updated date as of today and still listed as an Immigrant Visa Application.

My question is this:  Could they ask for anything else from us, or when they asked us to deposit his passport can we assume everything has been taken care of, and that the visa will ultimately be issued?   We notified the IO at the time of our minor sons pending surgery on June 7th so we are worried especially reading everyone's experiences with AP.

Thank you for your time and responses!

hi i had my interview 28 march 2019 i was asked to upload new version of birth certificate and criminal records which i already did same day of my interview and send my passport with original documents via post they already received everything, so since that i have not heard from them, you are fine they requested his passport you will hear from them soon..good luck

  10. hi guys all i had my interview on march 28 US embassy for IR1 , i brought new version of birth certificate and criminal records to my interview, but CO asked me for old version that was uploaded to NVC Stage, so i was given yellow paper to upload the new version documents to CEAC and send the original with my passport via ARAMEX which i already did same day after my interview, ARAMEX confirmed the delivery of the documents after that case was stuck on "READY" status for 30 days after the interview and then changed to AP a week ago, so how long it takes to review documents ? i loged in CEAC it still says submitted not yet ACCEPTED, the yellow paper does not mention 221 g or nothing, except to upload missing docs..
