I used search function much . But it would be nice to have a section where all COMPLETED cr1s who had a zoom wedding/successful received visa/finished .  As popular as zoom concept  is  should be more stories of success if its truly accepted everywhere . I see Costa Rica , Thailand , Philippines , are there more ?  How many I wonder total (10-20 ect?)

I remember visiting Riga and most people spoke English. If you feel comfortable with it, a friend of your fiancé's can translate the documents for you. They will need to attach a certification attesting that they are fluent in both English and Latvian. You can see examples on the web. For example, where there is a seal, you write "[seal]", and a barcode, you write "[barcode]".

 

A quick Google search for "US immigration certified translation Latvian" shows that there are services on the web that charge $20-$30/page. Here was the first result:

If you're getting birth, police, or marriage certificates translated, then it should be pretty easy for a basic outfit to do it without worrying too much. If you're getting a stock option agreement or corporate merger agreement translated, $160/page is probably too low to ensure the meaning of the contract is not lost.

Latvian language is somewhat rare in the USA, however, it's very common in Latvia to translate from Latvian to English. I would just Google search Latvian translation companies and order from them. Thank you for referencing company rigatulko . I am using similar priced company now online (the company I complain was in person  ) and nice to have backup . I will post results/price when finished transaction . Excellent communications/examples so far I've a hunch they great and will use them lots in future....I think it's good to post a thread like this so the next poor , or desperate /old uninformed/hoping visa/ or foreigner dont agree to such an outlandish price thinking it's the norm . YOU DO HAVE OPTIONS ! I would have paid too much within reason .  The translation company got bills to pay too  , and because it was in person transaction  ,  i still remember those days I prefer it . ......I dealt with staff only , maybe owner don't even know and staff on commission don't care , ECT ?  I woulda had more work for them .  I suspect the actual translator in latvia might have been happy with his commision at 50-100 usd per page , but i might be wrong about that . Or maybe this company gave me a reasonable price quote , it's just i got lucky and the next 5 quotes were 10 times cheaper

I imagine fees have went up everywhere since 2014 . 60 cad in 2014 sounds reasonable . Do criminal records charge by the page ? ...I'm so old I remember when Canada was cheap !

We were quoted 160 USD per page document translation fee (over 2000usd) from very established USA translation company . Obviously we passed . What is highest you paid for foreign language documents translated to English ?

She isn't in the U.S with me yet, but our 5 year journey on the immigration side is hopefuly coming to a close soon. We've both been ready to start a family together for the last number of years.

As I mentioned in the PM, let me see if one of the US friends I have there can point you to the latest and clearest information.  It may take a week or so for a response but they would at least know where to point you in the right direction.  They have been navigating Cambodia government agencies for 25+ years.  

Flicks1998 you are most accurate Cambodia poster I ever saw .  Good job on citizenship you are indeed rare poster with even more rare cambodia knowledge  . Zoom wedding no comparrison what a better option it is . Does anyone have first hand experience using zoom wedding and spouse from Cambodia arriving usa ? I understand Philippines other applicants it has worked , but have yet to read Cambodia success story /or failure . Seems no one tried it yet (I hope I'm wrong I haven't read up recently)

My questions are....For a k1 visa background police clearance check in countries you were in 6 months previous....1) if you " visited" a country 25 times over many years for a period of one week each time do you have to get a police clearance document for K1 for that country ( total time over 6 months in country)?  2) if you went on an extended holiday for a 7 month period in a foreign country but kept all your home country resident stuff (credit cards , taxes , home address all stayed in home country) do you need a police clearance document for this visited country ?     I have traveled much and I have seen the term "resident" interpreted differently.......I am USA citizen apply Cambodian fiance k1 visa

Hello ! I'm an American man with Cambodian fiance . I've looked through forum and haven't seen same situation answering my concerns . Questions are  1) I was arrested 25 years ago for assault @ trespassing . I was released after 4 days and all charges dropped . I am currently outside the USA .What agency/document place do I get this info that will be needed for K1 visa ? When I contacted courthouse they said couldn't find records .And even if I find arrest record I've never heard of document that basically says it's all finished now and taken care of (same as k1 visa wants me to furnish) .......I've read horror stories of applicants having to fly back to USA in person and retrieve look for  this paperwork . Anyone know who/where to get this info while out of usa ? I can't afford lawyer but have no issues paying a fee/ect to company/agency/printout ...thanks in advance!

The K1 visa is taking almost as long as a spousal visa. But the difference is, when you fiance comes to the US on a K1 visa, she cannot work, leave the US, or sometimes even get a driver's license for months after her arrival. After you marry on a K1 visa she has to go through what is a called Adjustment of Status. It cost another $1200 and requires additional documents and evidence. She will also have to apply for work authorization and travel authorization. This process takes months which is why I mentioned her not being able to work or travel. With a spousal visa she can work or travel out of the US from the day she steps foot in America.

Now you see that there is even more beaurocracy involved with the fiancé visa than the spousal visa

Thanks for response ! It's about average 5 months to complete marriage process in Cambodia....along with  dodging possible " tea money" along the way. ... The k1 we can avoid this process . Definetly prefer the marriage visa for all the reasons you listed though and much better in most ways 

We are a American/ Cambodian couple living in Cambodia now  . We want to return to USA someday when possible... both in our 40s age...I meet income requirements...no children involved...we had considered marrying in Cambodia , but it appears less hassle to file a k1 fiancee visa from the USA ( I would return for 30 days and gather info)? By less hassle I mean why jump through beaurocrisy in Cambodia to marry and then again to file spousal visa to return.....also , I have agency I trust to do the k1 visa from the USA ...ANY opinions or experiences I would love to hear about and thanks in advance !
