Here is my experience with San Antonio interview.

“Word of advice to the interviewers - Keep the interview professional and dont let your emotions/personal past experiences get in the way of how you view people.

My husband and I had a unexpected, very uncomfortable interview. Conversation started off well, so we thought. She said we had to be wealthy coming into this country, made us feel as we were poor and unworthy. My husband does not make a lot (which is why I have a joint sponsor) But yet she felt the need to target my husband and tell him he needs to pick up his act and find a better job, even move towns if that helps. I submitted my husbands Tax return a couple months ago when I received a RFE. However I did not make a copy of this paper (my fault) and she wanted to see it. I said you must have it because we sure sent it. So i assume they lost it and she said because of this missing paper she would deny me if it was up to her. Very rude of her and thank God she does not have the final decision.

She seemed out to get us because we were gamers (no longer) and that made us seem incompetent. We both have jobs and are getting by but for some reason that was the focus of the interview instead of asking us questions about our relationship. She had no interest in looking at the evidence i gathered about us. Which is the whole point of this interview. This lady told us personal things about her life which wasted time and was totally irrelevant to us. She had a bad experience with an Ex husband who was only interested in games not her. And that left her bitter, thats why she targeted my husband because he is a gamer. But he is not like some other gamers in the sense that he cant hold a relationship. I have no problem in the way that he spends some of his time playing. In fact he has given up most of his games but she didnt care to know that. She casually joked the reason why we forgot his tax return was because we are gamers.

Just because we met playing a game online 8 years ago does not mean till this day we are still playing and have no life outside games! Ridiculous assumptions. We were asked if we had children and after saying NO she asked us 2 more times. I felt offended by that because she does not believe us for some reason.

Overall we felt like we got a lecture about our lives more than anything. We are doing everything right legally to be approved and because we are not rich and have a history of playing games she looked down on us. She also spoke over us often. My greencard was approved via online app that same night. Thank God! “

Glad that you got your GC approved! You said the tax return, is that 2019 or 2018?

Because I already summit 2018 tax return and I-864 with my I-485 application, do you need to bring 2018 tax return again? I have a interview the end of July, I am preparing materials,

    thanks !

So my green card was approved may 29 and I never received it. The post office pretty much admitted also that it was misdelivered since the regular carrier wasn’t working on the day it said it was delivered. I was pretty bummed to say the least that I have to pay over $500 and wait over 6 months to get a new one. I decided to file the replacement under “issued but never received” where the fee is waived. I know you can only file under it when the card has been returned to USCIS as undeliverable but i still went with it.I got my new biometrics appointment couple of days later and went to get a i-551 stamp to my passport. Luckily they didn’t ask any questions about my replacement being filed under this category and I got my stamp for a year and can travel now. Most likely they will still deny

my application in the end, but atleast I won myself some time 🙄

You have to pay 500$ for a new green card? That is so much..

    Hi Tom

Good stuff, don’t think I have a priority date. I know that space was blank, back on my I129F

This form I-797C NOA for case type I485 - I765 is dated mid Nov 2018

I went for biometrics early Dec 2018

Because my Pd is May , and your Pd is November. I just got scheduled yesterday and waiting for my letter. I can’t believe 4 months applications are scheduled at the same time.

Finally got our interview scheduled letter!! (Phoenix office, July 10th appointment) I was just about to file for EAD and AP renewal, which I am still going to submit just in case.

Can anyone confirm on AP and EAD renewal - we have to submit them separately, right? When I was reading instructions it looks like we send to different addresses, but hope I am correct that there are no fees since AOS is pending.

I sent to the same address.

"In 2018, USCIS revised its policy regarding the extent to which a Form I-693 retains its evidentiary value. This policy is effective November 1, 2018. Before November 1, 2018, the validity period policy provided Form I-693 retained its evidentiary value as long as it was submitted to USCIS within 1 year of the civil surgeon’s signature and USCIS issued a final decision on the underlying immigration benefit application within a year of the Form I-693’s submission to USCIS. This policy contained a maximum 2-year period during which Form I-693 retained its evidentiary value.

Due to increasing caseloads and more complex adjudications, USCIS observed an increasing number of cases where benefit applications could not be decided within 1 year from the date the Form I-693 was submitted. In these cases, USCIS would have to request a new Form I-693, further delaying the processing of the underlying application and inconveniencing the applicant."

I came here as K1 visa. But before other people told me I don’t need to summit a new medical test even it is over 1 year. So which one is true now?

Thank you so much everyone for your wishes. Means alot.

    So here's my interviews experience

I had my first interview on feb 24th 2019. Interviewer asked the same  basic questions how you met, where u met, why u decided to get married how you knew each other.  He asked if we want to show him any docs for proof. So we showed him our joint taxes, phone plans, affidavit from friends and family, our pics together from wedding and from some other occasions and house lease with both of our names on it.

Then he asked us about the joint account that we didn't had at that time. So that was it from the first interview. It was almost 20 minutes long.

Then after 2 months we got a letter for a second interview. I was surprised to see that cause i thought our first interview just went fine but then why the second but anyways then on May 24th we had our 2nd interview.

Interview was scheduled at 10 o'clock but we had to wait almost 1 hour for our turn. It wasn't busy but still we had to wait this long. At almost 11 o'clock the same IO that we had last time came in and called my name and told us that he just want me to come with him first. So at that time i was sure that its gonna be a stokes interview. When we reached his office i asked him that why a 2nd interview he told me that its just normal to have 2nd interview sometimes people even have 3 interviews and i was like 3 interviews thats alot he smiled and said yes it help us to understand the cases and to make a right decision. I was like okay good. Then we talked about game of thrones and its ending. That was so random i know :p. Anyways then he asked me if I've something to show i gave him our joint account statements, utility bills , joint credit cards, auto insurance together, and a few more docs. Then he asked me if I've started driving i said yes he asked how's it going i told him that its good even I told him that i got a ticket last week because my tail light was not working he said oh be careful and never over speed cause then you'll get a ticket and it will be expensive one. Then he said okay so now I'm gonna ask you afew questions.  So he said its gonna be video taped so he started and asked me the first question and it was what is truth? I was like truth is truth 😛 he said no define truth then i defined truth. Then he asked what is benefit? I was like what kinda questions are these but anyways i answered. Then he asked is green card a good thing or bad or neither i was like i don't know if its a good or bad its just like if it helps me to be with my husband then its a good thing else its just a thing 😛 then he asked about what i did last night , what i had in my dinner , who woke up first this morning , who took shower this morning, how we met , why we met how we know each other and thats all then he  escorted me to the waiting area and said i hope there are more people now so that you don't have to sit alone because before that it was just me and my husband in the waiting area and one more couple. So i was like i hope so.

Then he asked the same questions from my husband. So we almost had the same answers. So at the end he came in the waiting area to give back a few docs and said that we'll have the decison in our mail in next few days.

So on may 28th we gotthe update on our case that new card is being produced and case is approved.

    So finallyy its done yaayyyyyyyy

Did they say why you got a second interview? It is a bit strange? Do you have huge age gap? Or anything unusual in your relationship?

    But congratulations!!!

So I had my interview yesterday, exactly one year apart from my PD.

The interview was a pretty bad experience to be honest, we didn’t had as much supporting documents as we would have liked.  By the end the IO told us that the case needs further review and she doesn’t know if our supporting documents are sufficient enough. I almost cried on our way home but as soon as I laid down I got a notice that new card is in production. I’m still having a hard time believing it but I guess it’s finally done 😀🎉

    Congratulations!!! Finally over!!!

I traveled with AP last month, as soon as I got to the first US port of entry (Dallas, TX in my case) I handed him my passport and EAD card, he then did the basic taking fingerprints stuff and escorted me to the waiting room (secondary inspection) and they was looking over my passport and EAD card, I was waiting in there for around 20 minutes and it was packed full of other people. I then got called up to the counter, they handed my passport and EAD card and I was free to go.

It was all relatively painless and there was no problems with getting back in, obviously if you have a connecting flight make sure you have enough time to clear the secondary inspection because they can take as long as they want to check the documents.

    Thanks!
