Hi All,
PD: May 4 ,2018.
In F2A category and i am in F1 OPT currently.
My F1 OPT will expire on Feb 2020.Hope to get i-130 approval before Feb 2020,so that i can file i-485 and continue to stay legally.
Am i correct with my calculation?
Your i-130 approval doesn't mean you can live without any status. i-130 approval is just petition approval. If your i-130 is approved and still waiting for Interview Letter/GC, you would need to maintain status independently regardless untill your GC is received.

Well, I'm about a week shy of the two year mark. Haven't heard a whisper from USCIS for eight months (when they transferred my case yet again). I have TWO I-551 stamps in my Canadian passport, with time and room for a third (would not surprise me at all at this point). You should see the looks I get crossing back into the US from Canada. They ask ME what is taking so long. I just shake my head right along with them. I really thought I would be done with this "thing" by now. Maybe 2019? Who knows...
I already crossed 2 years mark. Case inquiries does not help either. Not sure if we can file a mandamus if it takes forever.

Is your interview just I-751 or you applied for n400? what does your case status say exactly? just copy and paste and make sure you delete the case number, so that we can help you better.
Are you still waiting for your case to be adjudicated? How many Oct-2016 filer are still waiting?

I am waiting for my wife's IL and her PD is 23-Nov. From my observation in last few months, USCIS does not send interview letters until 1st or 2nd week of each months. I believe people receive IL just after Visa Bulletin is published. I could be wrong but this is my observation. I would suggest to wait until Jan-15 and see if you all receive IL.

My question is about VB.
what is different between " DATES FOR FILING FAMILY-SPONSORED VISA APPLICATIONS " and " FINAL ACTION DATES FOR FAMILY-SPONSORED PREFERENCE CASES"
my pd is may 2018, f2a , which one shuld i consider ?
DATES FOR FILING FAMILY-SPONSORED VISA APPLICATIONS is basically for GC holders who wants to apply for their spouses or other relatives. For Citizen, priority date is always current meaning, they can file i-130, i-485, i-864 and i-765 al togather. On the other hand, GC holder can only file i-130 initially untill their DATES FOR FILING FAMILY-SPONSORED VISA APPLICATIONS becomes current. Once it becomes current, they and their spouses or relatives are elibile to file i-485, i-864 and i-765.
Final Action Dates for Facmily Sponsered Preference Cases are current date that NVC is scheduling Interview. Meaning that date is the expected date for green card interview.
Hope this helps.

VB tells you when your PD is current, and after your PD becomes current in the VB you will have your interview. Usually interview letters are given out one month prior to your PD becoming current.
This is correct. However I doubt that interview letters are given out a month prior to you PD becoming current. I noticed in last 2 months, trend is being changed now. Interview letter are usually sent around VB published date. Meaning they start sending interview letters around 10th of every month. My wife PD is 23-Nov-2016. VB priority date is 08-Nov-2016. We did not receive an interview letter yet. Some early november PD received their interview letters after Jan VB was published.
Again I can be wrong but this was my observation.

For what I see, I think this month is not going to be any movement at all.
Absolute sadness
On what basis are you guessing that there won't be any movement? If you can share source would be great!

My pd is 21 nov 2016 for I-130
I don’t have idea about I-485 what’s it ?
Hi,
I am sorry I did not have much knowledge before I asked a question. Actually PD is only for i-130. I meant my wife sent i-485 on March-30th. I think the most matters is your PD and either it is approved or not. So ignore i-485 question.

Same here Montu. I called, spoke to Tier 2, they said same thing, case is pending security checks. Just sent an online case is out of processing, see what they say.
Guess we keep on waiting and get more stamps. 😲
Earlier hey told me the same about security check is pending. But last time they did not say anything. I still need to confirm with them if security check is completed or not.

Have you asked to speak to a Tier II officer who may be able to give you further details regarding your case?
Yes I spoke to tier 2 person. He created a case for me and that is where I get a response from Uscis in mail that they are aware about delay and can't give any timeline for adjudication.

Anyone still waiting here?
Yes I am. 21-Dec-2016 filer. Just contacted USCIS for out of processing time. They acknowledged it is out of processing time but they do not know when they will be adjudicating my application. It is same generic answer that they are giving to 60% out of processing time applicants.

I'm still waiting. I file on Dec. 22.2016. Obviously my case is outside processing times. My attorney filed an e-request about 3 weeks ago and we've received an email saying that my case has been adjudicated and we should receive a notice of action/decision from USCIS within 45 days.
Has your application's online status changed?

Hi,
Is there any 2016 filer who is still waiting for their case? I mean only i-751 filer, no N-400.

So, I haven't checked this thread for awhile, more precisely, since I got a RFE back in July. I spoke with two attorneys and both had the same feedback. I had already sent a lot (and enough) of documentation to be approved, but because I am a divorce waiver, I could be being looked more closely.
So, I ended up hiring an attorney to help me with thr RFE. I did mostly everything on my own up to this point and I did not want to regret being cheap on a situation like this.
My attorney's response was pretty much similar to what I have seen in this forum and my main I751 response. I just made me more poor (this was F* expensive).
I sent my RFE package last week and received an email on Friday confirming they received it and will get back to me within 60 days, otherwise I can follow up with them.My 90 days deadline was today. So I was cutting very close to the limit. Hopefully that will not count against me.
Let's see. I hope I receive good news soon.Likewise. I am in same boat as you. What is your ROC?

In September of 2015, I submitted an application I-751 and i received the card i think on 2/1/2018. While waiting for my green card i applied for N400 on may 2017 . Until now I am waiting for the answer regarding this matter
IT seems your comment is conflicting. Earlier you mentioned you received green card in May/June 2017 and now you are saying 2/1/2018. Not sure which one is true?

You will wait for too long I’m from Egypt originally as well and I’ve been waiting and tried everything they are targeting us because we are arabs..I called the congressman many times called them went to a lawyer did an infopass did everything till I lost hope I even threw the i-797 in the trash and I’m not thinking about this anymore and I’m trying to join a college in Canada because trump is making it harder and harder so my opinion if y’all can move to Canada just do it and this is what the lawyer has told me too I’m sorry but this is the truth now..I have been waiting for 2 years with no response and I don’t think they will ever do..I’m trying to disappoint you but honestly they will make it impossible to get green cards in the future..if your husband wants to get the green card faster and he is younger than 37 the best way to do is to join the military otherwise he will wait forever
When did you file i-751 and what is your ROC?

I am wondering what kind of background checks are done for those applying for the ROC. I know biometrics are used for those.
The n400 requires both the fingerprint check AND a name check, which is apparently what is holding up so many applications. Does that go for the ROC as well ? Are name checkings part of the process ?
That might be part of the big delays many experience, if that is the case.
Hi,
Yes name checking is part of process. Security check is done by several agencies including FBI. It could take from 1 month to several years. Mine is pending since Jan-2017 and security check is not completed yet. No one in the entire world can give you information when your security check will be completed. You just wait until it is completed. They won't even let you know if it is completed but if you inquire and it is pending, USCIS will mention that it is pending and they can't adjudicate until security check is not completed.

Hey all,
Just wanted to share my joy & time line with everyone. Today I finally got the message I had been waiting for from uscis that action was taken on my case & when I logged into the DHS website it said they are producing my card. However the case tracking website has not changed from since the glitch message in March.
My timeline is as follows:
12.22.2016 - NOA1
01.22.2017 - BIOMETRIC
02.27.2018 - FEB GLITCH MESSAGE
03.05.2018 - MARCH GLITCH MESSAGE
06.29.2018 - RECEIVED RFE (THEY ASKED FOR FINAL COURT DOCS ONLY)
07.09.2018 - USCIS RECIEVED MY RESPONSE & UPDATED MY DHS ACCOUNT.
07.26.2018 - NOA2 (WHICH WAS USLESS TO ME CAUSE IT WAS EXPIRED ANYWAY)
08.15.2018 - DHS WEBSITE UPDATED TO STATE THEY ARE PRODUCING MY CARD.
For those of you with pending RFE I know how hard it is to wait, especially when you see others who respond after you & then get approved in just days/weeks. Your mind plays tricks on you & makes you doubt everything. But I encourage you to keep waiting. As hard as it is find other things to do while you wait. & in due time your number will be called. My rfe was pending without an update for 36days (even though we had already waited 1y.8m those last few days were hell.)
Goodluck to everyone waiting. God be with you. Thank you for all your support.
I will update to let you know how soon I recieved the GC & Approval notice.
Congrats Val2014. Thanks for updating us. I am happy for you.
