Hi, I hope all is well for you!

Just take the documents you have at this point including a copy of your ex's passport. They did ask me for the spouse's citizenship certificate... as well as the other documents they asked you for in the letter just like they did with you. At the interview itself, the officer wanted to see the certificate of citizenship, but did not ask for anything else to see. We provided the other relationship documents and proofs that we are together in advance including all our upto date tax filing history as well as many other documents (but that was before the interview).

I think that's the best you can do at this point in your case. I would be very honest and open with them.  Explain to them your situation and see if you qualify. No one would ask you to contact your ex, I don't think.  But, I actually do not know if you qualify for obtaining the citizenship privilege under the 3 years rule anymore (since there is a divorce at this point). Maybe you do / maybe you do not; I truly do not know.  I would like to learn from your experience if they actually grant you the citizenship. I think worst case scenario based on what you said is that they may ask you to wait till 5 years pass and complete so you may do it under the five year rule. Best case scenario is that they would approve you during the interview based on the documents you have.

In summary, I would take the papers you have in addition to as many papers as possible that would prove that you marriage was in good faith upto the point of separation/divorce. I would not take an attorney (unless you feel more comfortable with an attorney around). I think the attorney will make the atmosphere of the interview more tense in my opinion. I wish you well and please keep us posted.

    Thanks and good luck...

Thank you! I still adore your user name so much, even though I’m more the Käsebrot type 😄

    History and government test:
    Name one US territory
What Ocean is on the west coast of the United States
Who was President during Great Depression and WWII
We elect a Senator for how many years?
What is the Capitol of the United States?
Who is the Vice President now?

    Reading: Who was George Washington
Writing: Washington was the first President

After that the IO went over my application and confirmed all info/asked me the yes/no questions.
I filed under 3 year rule as VAWA recipient.
    The interview was very pleasant.

My passeport application took a total of 25 days (they told me 10-12 weeks to process).

Thanks! I ended up getting an appointment this Sunday at a public library.

I can. It was actually super abbreviated. All you do is show up with your completed N-445, give your green card (or reason why you don't have one to give, they asked why I didn't have one in my case (expired, already surrendered at InfoPass Appointment months prior)), then you sit down at a chair after they give you a mini US flag with a number on a post-it note attached to it. Due to social distance guidelines, only interpreters and caregivers are allowed with you, otherwise you must be alone. They asked us not to take any photos. Once they had all the chairs filled up, the lady came to the podium, explained that the oath was extremely abbreviated so no videos will be shown. All we did was repeat the oath after her, and then she congratulated us and in orderly fashion we left, while handing in our post-it note numbers to exchange for our naturalization certificate as we were leaving the room. Minus wait time to fill chairs, the whole oath took less than 3 minutes. I was in and out of the building in 30 minutes.

    I updated the spreadsheet.
About 2 weeks ago, I messaged Deagle about having someone else take over updating the sheet. My wife had her oath ceremony in August, and with my job getting busier, the spreadsheet has become a lower priority.  I have not heard back from him, so I will continue to update the sheet, but it might be only once a week.
Deagle started the spreadsheet, and he has control over who has access to change it.

It is great to see some new areas making progress.

Check again, this morning it wasn't showing for me, neither, but...

I checked this afternoon, and the online portal updated and now shows me my Oath Ceremony letter, to be sworn in on March 19th! Just under a month away! 🇺🇸

I got notification that my oath ceremony was scheduled. It’s been a couple days now since the notice and it’s still not showing on my profile. I guess I’ll just wait on snail mail. I’m elated at the fact that I’ll be done with USCIS.

interview on the epic Jan 6:

Who is the Vice President (Pence back then).
who is the president during WWI
Name a war during the 1800s
    When was the constitution written.
Number of members of the house of representatives.
how many years a senator is elected.

Writing: we have one hundred senators.
Reading: one line; forgot it, actually.
(I am a college professor, so I thought she’s mocking me by the reading/writing questions, but that turned out to be the norm.)

    Hi everyone!
i had my interview last Tuesday 2/16 in downtown LA. My appointment was at 8:30 AM. Once I got in the building, had to find the elevator, go up to the right floor & the right room. I then showed my appointment letter to the officer who directed me to the check-in window where I had to give the 1st page of the appointment letter and had my temperature checked. I then took a seat for about 1 hour wait. Then I was called in.

The interview lasted about 1 hour. We chatted a lot about a lot of things in between the real interview stuff (travel, family, the pandemic, etc.). It was really cool and no stress.

For the real interview stuff, first he asked for my green card, driver license and passeport. Then asked for my mariage certificate (original + copy) - I am applying under 3 years, my husband’s birth certificate and any additional documents I want to provide (last statements for checking, saving accounts, credit card bill, mortgage, utilities, insurance, any documents that have both my husband and my name on it).

he also asked a few questions on my prior travels, destinations and what we did.

moved on to the name change portion. Signed a few paper and signed on the tablet as well.

Then we moved on to the Civic test:
    1. What was one reason that led to civil war (slavery)
    2. Why did people come to the united states (for freedom)
    3. What are the first three words of the constitution (we the people)
    4. What do the 13 stripes on the flag represent (the 13 original colonies)
    5. Give 3 of the 13 original colonies
    6. What did the US fear during the cold war (Communism)

question to read from a tablet: “what do we pay to the government”

writing test with a special pen on the tablet: “we pay taxes”

    => I passed the test!!!!

next I had to answer a bunch of question s (yes/no) like the ones from the application (have you been arrested, do drugs, etc.)

I wasn’t approved on the spot, but it changed not long after on the myuscis account, then I was placed in line for the oath ceremony. Just received the appointments letter in my email inbox (so unexpected!!), it’s also uploaded in my account. I’ll be done with all this on Saturday 2/27.

good luck to everyone that are still waiting!

Well, I don't even have an interview scheduled yet. Radio silence since Biometrics and I filed in Jan 2020.
San Francisco -- anyone else still at the no-interview-news-yet stage?

Just finished my N400 Interview. Had to wait 2hrs because some problems with their system in the office.
    Question:
    Name 1 Us territory.?
    who’s the president now?
    capital of my state?
We elect a us representative for how many years?
name one state that borders canada?
    read: who elects congress?
    write: the people elect congress
then, the officer asked the yes/no question part of the application. The officer asked if i wanted a name change, i was trying to get the name changed but the officer was having a hard time with the computer, then i told her to forget about it. Few more questions about wife and kids. And that was it. Recommended for approval. Time
of the interview around 25 mins.
    Total time 2hrs 25 mins.
status changed online to “Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled”
    and that was all folks!
I think i’m the last one here from January 2020. Haha!
