    Yes my interview was waived.

40 months is crazy. Have you applied for citizenship?

I did apply for citizenship. My interview will be on May 8, 2024. However, it still seems to be slower than other petitioners. I submitted my citizenship petition on 10/5/23. Most would have already had their citizenship certificate in hands by now.

  2. 1. I hope that my timeline could be of help for those who are waiting and anxious.

    2. Please share your experience if you had a combo interview & attended your oath ceremony at the Sacramento California field office. Thank you in advance!

Thank you for clarifying the dates, this is less than 180 days thus your case should be approvable if filed in after September 20th 2023 (provided all other eligibility criteria is met).

I am really sorry you had to live through abuse and hard times in your life. Nowhere I suggested that you had fun etc. My usage of "lengthy trip" wasn't implying any negative connotation or assuming vacation. Trips are trips and can be due to many reasons: family emergencies, business issues and other. I'm sorry if you felt I used words to shame etc, I had no such intention. All I was trying to establish whether this can be a point an IO can stumble upon. Doesn't look like it would be.

Be ready to prove your case and fight for it though, not every IO is a nice sensible person. That applies not just to you and your case, anybody can face it in their immigration.

Good luck with I-751 and N-400! I hope you have a good smooth application and quick approval.

By the way, did you convert your case to divorce waiver case?

I did petition my I-751 on divorce waiver, along with abuse and hardship if returned to my home country.

Seems the U.S.C.I.S. is so far satisfied with my paperwork after I sent in TWICE dictionary-thick documents. The status has been changed from RFE to “ready to be scheduled for an interview” since December 2021. What could be going on???

    An absence of 157 days.

Still not seeing the issue for N-400.

You have my sympathy abd that does not solve your problem: You have been given options.

I’ve contributed all I can, and I don’t wish to argue or bicker, so I won’t post more in this thread.

I didn’t try to argue with you or anyone else.  I even explained that I understood people were just trying to help.

I respect your decision not to comment anymore and I appreciate your insights on my I-751. Thank you! :)

@judythebunny became LPR in December 2018 and left for a lengthy trip less few weeks after in January 2019. Are 2-3 weeks of residence sufficient to start counting eligibility from December 2018? I know, technically he's LPR based on Resident Since. But the absense is also on the borderline of 6 months. What if the OP left the US on January 3rd and came back on June 20th? That would be 169-2 = 167? Of course, can calculate more precisely if exact dates are provided.

I think it'd make a much cleaner case to start counting residence since return in June 2019.

    I left on January 3, 2019. I came back on June 9, 2019.

Let me reiterate - I nearly died from emotional and psychical injuries sustained by my ex-spouse abuse. I was hospitalized on and off for that long between January 3, 2019 and June 9, 2019. My medical expense was nearly $20,000, which I have still not been compensated yet.

135 days in a living hell. I wasn’t going on a vacation. “A lengthy trip” sounds like I was having fun on that lengthy trip. I am sorry I come off as so negative. I understand you mean well and are trying to help me. :)

Any U.S.C.I.S. officer who assumes I was having fun or on a vacation when I was out of the country between 1/3/19 and 6/9/19 would be heartless and senseless.

But I’m not actually concerned about my I-751 pending for so long after I read you guys’ replies. I guess what I need is just an I-751 support group haha.

    Got it, are you sure?

    What's your resident since date?

Are you filing under 3 or 5 year rule?

Did you have long trip outside of the US?

I’d file N400 under the 5-year rule and I’ll become eligible in September this year.

    Resident since 12/19/18.

International trip: I had to go back to China from Jan 2019 to June 2019 to get medical treatment (not having U.S. medical insurance at the moment and could not afford our-of-pocket treatment in the U.S.) for my injuries sustained due to my ex-spouse abuse. I nearly died. I don’t wish to get into any detail and I hope my wish can be respected.

I have been residing in the U.S. since June 2019. Never left.

  7. Hello! My I-751 case was updated from ready to be scheduled for an interview to fingerprints taken today (October 17, 2022, Pacific Standard Time around 6PM).

Does this mean I would need to wait for another 6-12 months for an interview?

(I filed my I-751 on December 16, 2020. My case had been ready for an interview since December 15, 2021. I did not get any update after December 15, 2021 until today).

    Thank you!

  8. Hi all, the USCIS received my I-751 petition with supporting evidence in December 2020. As of August 5, 2021, I only received a receipt and a notice that tells me my biometrics appointment had been waived.

    1. Does anyone know if the USCIS waives all interviews due to the pandemic?
    2. Has anyone filing in December 2020 and residing in California received their 10-year green card?

    Thank you! 🙂
