Works 100%. The people working there know exactly what to do. You need to pick up your sealed packet from them 4-5 days after the procedure.

Your going to be fine. Your doing everything the right way. Have you received any updates on your case at ceac.state.gov? That's where it will tell you if your case is "ready". Also, you should move over to @A_R thread where you will be able to ask questions from others who are processing in India. Or seek him out with a PM.
Thanks yeh im on there thread also yes the case was ready on 20th and its with mumbai counsulate. I tracked. Whats taking so long for them to open and send the email i dont understand

Well reading the above topics. I'm more confused now..we got a mail about case being ready and left nvc to mumbai counsulate on 20th . So i did pcc, ds-160, medical also got interview date for 12th oct. Now im worried whether they'll receive the package before or do i have to reschedule. Have to do travel arrangements aswell. Also they say clearly that benificiary can now do further actions about medical, ds-160 and rest. Its sooooo confusing no clue what to do now..after soooo many attempts we got this date. Dont wanna mess up with this.

@Sanjana dogra Why is it necessary to book the VAC appointment 2 days before?
Coz they want that 24 hours gap atleast. Between vac and counsulate interview. Since vac only begins around 8:30 am and counsulate around 7:30 that doesnt gives a 24hours gap

Just wanted to clear the appointment booking issue up. The best way to handle it is to log in and only look on the left side of the webpage for a "First Available Appointment" message. If there is no message, then there are no Consulate Appointments available to be booked at that time. You can refresh the page as many times as you like to look for this message and you will not be locked out. When it finally does appear, you must select a VAC (Biometrics) appointment slot that is more than 24 hours ahead of the Consulate Interview in order for the interview slot to show up.
Here's the tricky part:
The Consulate appointments all appear to be at 7:15AM, while the VAC appointments only begin around 8:30AM. This means that you must pick a VAC slot two days ahead of the Consulate appointment. For example:
1.) Message "First Available Appointment is November 19th" appears on the left when you log in.
2.) Select any VAC time slot on November 17th, for example 3:30pm.
3.) Select Consulate appointment on November 19th at 7:15AM.
4.) Success!
Once you've scheduled an appointment, the availability message will no longer appear on the left hand side, so you will need to use a different account in order to see it again for rescheduling. You do not need to fill out an additional DS-160 or anything, you need only progress through the scheduling process to the point where the Visa Class says K-1 at your selected Consulate. That's when the availability message will appear again. When a better date appears, swap over to your main account and reschedule.
Good luck all!!!

This is still going on today. Did you ever get a time slot? How?

They didn't let you schedule on the phone?
I specifically asked if that was possible, they said this website is the only way.

I'm not sure about others, but for the Mumbai Consulate, the ustraveldocs.com website is giving bogus appointment availability. Take a look at the screenshot below, it shows tons of available appointments, yet all of them result in a message that says "No appointments are available" and after five "guesses" you get locked out. We called ustraveldocs customer service and they said "We see the same thing, just keep trying."
So what's the deal? We have to gamble on five random appointment slots per day and hope that it eventually works?

We received a post on aug 28th from US consulate Mumbai saying your K1 visa is now ready for final processing. We got our I-797 and ceac status is ready. We went ahead and filled and submitted ds-160, paid fees, obtained pcc (police clearance) and created an account on usatraveldocs. The problem begins here. We are unable to schedule an appointment. Whatever date we select we are getting no appointments available. Please press the back button and choose and new OFC appointment date. The first step is OFC scheduling and next is interview scheduling. OFS shows availability but interview page shows this message. If anyone has faced a similar issue or has got past this issue kindly suggest what course of action we should take? The call center has so far been useless :)..
Regrads,
Nacho
So I don't think most people reading this understand what you're talking about. For the Mumbai Consulate, the ustraveldocs.com website is giving bogus appointment availability. See the screenshot below, it shows tons of available appointments. None of them work and after five "guesses" you get locked out. Called their customer service, they said "We see the same thing, just keep trying." So we have to gamble on five random appointment slots per day? None of which work? This website is playing a sick game with people's lives.

Here is the letter that you will receive from Mumbai Embassy. Read it over carefully and follow the instructions. Another member of VJ added some additional information contained below which outlines what he experienced.

Once you received your case number from NVC, I would recommend you fill out DS-160 form and submit. Some say the packet 3 letter is nothing just waste of time same thing they have mention which you easily get from USCIS website when you called to the clinics to book your medical appointment date they will ask you have you received your packet letter or not. Just say yes and booked the appointment date however you will receive that letter within 2 weeks the day you will get your NVC number.
Go on USCIS website make your account with password and then pay your fees to Citibank or Axis bank. They will give you reference number. With that number you can book your biometric and interview appointment date. The fees are 18,500 and for medical but I recommend that you carry 20,000 with you in the event you need more. Be sure to keep at least 7 days gap between medical and interview.Thanks. Really appreciate🙏

In most instances you have to have the case number to move forward with any appointments either medical or interview. You're getting a little ahead of yourself. Call NVC in about 10 business days for your case number. Do you have your Embassy Packet 3 (P3)? Are you interview in Nepal or Mumbai?
In mumbai.

Having received NOA2 approval on 8/27, does it make any sense to schedule any appointments in advance? Medical?

So guys it looks like day has been a write off, where all the approvals at?! Anyway, already looking forwards to tomorrow... 🤞
Well i guess they are working hard right now on all of us. And in one go will rain approvalsssssssssssss.

By my calculations of Igor's data, there are ~41 approvals for petitions filed during week one of Feb, and ~24 for week two, going up to 2/15, which is the latest date of non-expedites.
I am not sure how these numbers would show they are not going by dates, or at least as much as USCIS does. It is definitely not a November 2017 redux.
Then i guess they missed our dates. 5-9 thats all i can say. Something is wrong for sure. If multiple people are complaining that means something is wrong

Yes there were few. USCIS approves few petitions per date. But this is only according to VJ’s data. But who knows? 🤷♀️
In hindsight, I guess we should just extend our expectations to 250ish day, this will help us to become more calmer and less stressful in this long and winding journey.
Correct. I wont panic till september.

This is what i have observed that happened to previous months too. There are still lots of first week to 2nd week of the month that are still waiting. Including me at 218days.
This is exactly what im talking about for some reason initial week gets slow approvals. My fiance was sad today about still no movement. I feel that the hardtime is gone. Almost 6 months we waited now the wait ahead of us is nothing. I check just once a day uscis website. Eventually we all will be together with our love. If not in oct then nov or dec. What really bummed me was why first week suffer always. Good luck to you girl hope you get approved coming week.

They did but i see more approvals for mid feb. The only worry is hope they dont forget first week of feb as they are proceeding further
