Have a great weekend everyone!!! I'm settling down to watch the newest season of 90day fiance on TLC lol. In some strange way, it calms me down. I just look at these couples and think... "How did they manage to get a K1?! How???!??!?" Lol.

Thanks for this! I had read a few of these posts but others were new. Were you with other people in the room? I read this part just now . It seems weird to have to do this test with other people....🤔
"got undressed from the waste up and put a gown on. There were a total of 3 people doing this test at the same time. There were change rooms side by side which me (female), another female and a male all got undressed. I have to admit I was surprised they would do the exam with mixed genders. The guy who was there looked like he could be fun and I could've cared less if he got a peek. But not everyone would be thrilled about that"

Awesome, that's such a fast turn around!  For me it'll be mailed from Montreal to Ottawa so it should be there in the same amount of time or faster.  That's such good news!   Is it shipped Canada Post XpressPost?   Congratulations on you approval

You're supposed to call the NVC for your case number. At that time YOU give the beneficiary email.  If you do not do it at this time you can still check your CEAC with your case number if acquired.  If not yes, Montreal will send the BENEFICIARY snail mail and the beneficiary will need to email the information back as Montreal.
Packet 3 IS available for download as well from the consulate without them ever sending you snail mail or email.  But without your case number from the NVC you won't get very far.
If the beneficiary and petitioner chooses not to be proactive or check their mail that's their fault.  Who the heck doesnt check their mail when you're doing something important? Honestly I'd be concerned that the petitioner didnt want the marriage or immigration to happen if the case sat around without letting the beneficiary know about NOA2 (at which point the beneficiary takes control of the process except for the I-134.)

This is actually true. Most countries only have so many Visas they can approve in each category, so they likely split it up by month and that causes some people to have to wait longer than others.

Just  a quick update ..i received my packet 3 instructions in mail on Monday  ( im a july 2017 filer ) . Another quick question... in the list of docs required in the instructions..its says "police certificate" . What is that?? Is it something i need to contact my local police dept to get? I dont have any offences except for speeding tickets.

That's unfortunate. You could always just ask him for his email password and check it on his behalf? You could also ask him to sign up for USPS emails. That's what my fiance did. He lives in Hawaii and travels alot for work (also mail takes awhile to get to him from the mainland). He received a digital preview of all his mail that was scheduled to arrive so he knew he had mail from USCIS before he even got home 👍

My best guess is that they got my email (the beneficiary) from the supporting docs that were provided with the I-129.
My email (which is basically my name @whatever.com) is shown on most of the travel and hotel confirmations.
I assume that is how they got it as my fiance also provided travel confirmations listing a secondary email and they sent emails to that address, too (even though he had not provided that one to USCIS initially).
    Again, only a guess.

Sending your case to the consulate depends on the availability of k visa in your country in that very month nvc receive your case.
So if your case is taking longer than 15 to 17 day with nvc then know that K visa is not readly available at that moment maybe until the following month batch """"quoting from NVC website"

Yes, NVC definitely had my fiancee's (petitioner) email on file as we did put it somewhere on the I-129.

There was a form that you can actually request to be informed thru email. I included it to my I-129F application before.
It was the form G-1145 e-notification form. Plus if you’ve signed up with uscis website before, they would have your email.
It may be too late now. But you can jut email MTL so they can get your email.

No, I think I'll keep this appointment. I have A LOT to do to prepare for the big move, so July 11 is ok with me!

Thank you. What other feedback? It said July 11th was the earliest appointment so I took it. There was also July 18 & 25. Yes, only Wednesdays. I didn't scroll further, I just chose July 11.

You were over prepared but that sounds like your personality.  They didnt even look at my list of general items! (Or open the uhaul for that matter.)
    box 1 -kitchen
    Box 2 - books  lol

But better than not right?!  Glad to know it went well for you.

Turns out I was way over prepared. I had given each box a number and labeled it with it's contents. I had also created a spreadsheet in Excel with the box numbers and contents, so that I could have a master list. I did not include the value of anything though.

I didn't have a moving truck. Instead, family helped move, and we had 4 cars total, including my own. Everybody just got in line behind me when we reached the border. (I had also given everyone copies of what was in their cars).

When it was my turn at the border, after the officer opened my packet they basically just asked where I was moving to. I tried to give him my list and explained about the cars behind me. Honestly, they didn't really even care. He never even took the list.

My now husband was behind me, and I found out after that the officer had kind of made a joke at my expense. He laughed and said that I was very prepared, and that they don't normally see lists like that. That it's usually just a generalization of the box contents.

Anyways, overall it was a very easy crossing. It probably helped that I was over prepared haha.

Hello... Appears that it has been about a year since crossing... Could you share your experience with bringing your personal and household items into the US? Did you end up declaring the value of items?
