  1. Hey guys! My husband got his visa finally a couple days ago! His interview was in February 2018. They emailed him to go to the embassy in August a couple months ago. We would have gotten his visa in April/March if we didn’t have to get a new passport at the time. Let me know if you have any questions. I hope you all get your visas very soon! My husband says to tell you guys that you shouldn’t be worried about getting your visas anymore because they are issuing visas to Syrians now in Amman.

    Hello everyone ,

just to keep everyone updated, a Yemeni lawyer commented on his fb page days ago that all administrative procedures started in june,2018

I mean, everyone who had his interview before June 2018, his case was not getting looked at by anyone (as the lawyer said)

so starting from June 2018, the procedure started and we have to wait 2-8 months (that's what he also said)

    Good luck everyone :)

That's awesome news! Hope it's accurate and thank you so much for the update!

Hello everyone, I need help please

when I answered the 10 questions after the interview .. 1 question was to list my family names and date of birth and country of birth and where do they reside

well, I forgot to mention where do they reside and I noticed that today 😕

what do you think I should do ?

leave it and hope it wont be a big deal ?

    thank you

I suggest you email the embassy the information and tell them that you forgot to send it.

I’m in the same situation and had my interview also on 20 Feb. any good news yet? Which embassy did handle his interview?

Wow! What a coincidence that you had yours on the same day!

His interview was in Amman, Jordan.

Unfortunately, no updates. His case has been in administrative processing since his interview and we haven't heard anything since.

    How about you?

That was a k1. His ap was 22 months. But i have also seen k1s being issued in 3 months after interview. Ap for men especially if you have a common name or a military service or education in things that have military use is a lot longer.

I see. You think spouses are processed faster? Not sure if my husband has a common name but he doesn't have any military service or education in his history- which is a plus. Been over 5 months since his interview now...

  6. Thanks for all the info SalHasl! How long do you think people will wait post interview for their visas?

A friend of a friend of mine in the embassy said that after the interview it may take over a year :(

The CR1 case that you mentioned got a visa after 22 months, is that after his/her interview?

There are 2 that i know of. 1 was in AP for 22 months and then in waiver review for 3 months. Male beneficiary. The other one was in waiver review for 3 months. female beneficiary.

AP is the big wild card here - no one knows how long it can take. Waivers seem to be taking between 3 and 6 months.

Wait, is AP different than the waiver review or are they both conducted at the same time? Are you counting from the day of the interview?

Because when the counselor told him that they'll be doing the AP and that he may be eligible for a waiver, I assumed the waiver processwas the same as AP.

Its definitely a good sign. I have heard of multiple cases who recently cleared waivers. Their case status constantly changed a few times right before they got waiver notice. Have you contacted your senator? That definitely seems to make a difference.

The thing is, I realized that the new updated date is the date the senator's lawyer contacted the embassy. Kind of bummed because I thought they updated it for other reasons.

I have contacted my senator and his lawyer asks for updates for us but every time we get the same answer: that there's nothing new on his case and that they'll contact us once there's progress.

SalHasl, that's great news about the waivers that were granted! Could you tell me how long they waited after their interview? We're considering moving to be with my husband because we're worried his visa will take too long so any information you can give me could help.

  9. Hey, guys. Nothing new for my husband either. It's been almost 5 months since his interview...

I just checked the status of my husband's case and the Last Updated Date was changed from February 21st to July 10th. I think that's good news? No idea.

Muhammadsheikhale: I've heard that visas are processed faster and granted more for women so that may help your situation. I know of a person on Visa Journey who said that his friend's wife recently got her visa 3 or 4 months after her interview.

Wish you all good luck and please keep updating us on your case.

Allow me to disagree with you, but we do have a choice to look for another country to immegrate to as a family. Because we can't allow law or anything else to separate us.

Waiting is cool when the path we are taking is guaranteed, but, personally, I see it as a waste of time when all other commenters weren't granted the visa.

I don't mean to be rude I know you are having a good message that is don't lose hope. I agree with you but I see hope can come in another shape sometimes.

My wishes to you and all of us to be able to live with our families and loved ones soon.

Problem is, some of us (like my family) don't have any other options. Syrians can't get visas anywhere right now.

  11. Hello everyone,

My husband is Syrian. Had his interview on Feb 20th. We've been on Administrative Processing since then. Not sure what happens now after the Supreme Court ruling to uphold the travel ban. I really don't know if we're going to keep waiting indefinitely and if they will deny the visa after all the waiting.

I heard a lawyer say that anyone without a greencard from the banned countries can't enter the U.S. now. I'm not sure if that's true though...

    I'm lost.
