  1. Hey guys

can anyone shed any light on how the embassy in the uk deals with co sponsors? Unfortunately this week my fiancé has been made redundant at work.  It’s all came out of the blue and at least 2/3’s of the staff have been cut unfortunately my partner being one of them on the 3rd round of cuts.

His wage was well above the 125% poverty guide line and expects to be in a new job ASAP earning the same if not taking a pay rise. He also walks away with a great severance pay.

But my question is what should we do now? I have my medical on the 13th and ready t book my interview but holding off at the mo.  Would it be wise to have a co sponsor even if he starts a new job?  What’s the procedure for this? Are they accepted for uk applicants?

Sorry for all the questions this was just something we never thought we would have to deal with.

    Thanks in advance

You could wait a few weeks before making a decision about what to do next. He may find a job very soon. Has he sent you the affidavit of support for the interview yet?

You can ask for an extension on your approved petition if necessary.

I’m thinking wait a few weeks try sort new job then submit with a co sponsor.

  3. Incredibly stressed! My medical is booked for may 13th. I’ve not actually booked my interview it was something we had planned on doing this week.

The whole thing has come out of nowhere.  The top bosses walked in last Saturday’s and cut 2/3 of one department, then Monday they came back and cut his area down, we’ve held our breath thinking that was it and they’ve came back and cut again and unfortunately he was one of the management that’s gone. They’re now running on skeleton staff.

Honestly jut don’t even know where to start now.  Trying to see the silver lining in it all.  He gets a holiday, we can use the severance for our first house... but it’s just lol

I would say that you should get a co-sponsor. First, you don't know when he'll get a job. It might take a while. And second, even if he get one next week the embassy might say that it's not stable enough since he just started it.

    I would feel safer with a co-sponsor.

That was my worry, that they may say he’s not been in it long enough.   I don’t even know where to start on the course sponsor route 😔

  5. Hey guys,

hoping someone can give a bit of advice, we’ve had absolute nightmare just before we book interviews.

Fiances found out this week he along with majority of the staff are being made redundant at the end of the week.  He leaves with a good lump sum of $$’s as severance pay and already applying  for other jobs.  Going to delay my interview for this reason and make sure he’s back in work before the interview, would we still need t go down a co sponsor route?  His salary was well over the 125% poverty guideline and is actually expecting to take a pay increase at possible new jobs.

I know I’m not making much sense... but can someone advise what would be best to do now. Should we just get a co sponsor and go ahead as normal or should we wait?

  6. Hey all,

Currently getting items together for our medical, I will be taking 2 k2s with me, 12 and 10. Does anyone know if they will have the X-rays blood tests etc?

also any idea on medical exam costs? I keep seeing different amounts.

I’m hoping we are soon, but USCIS work in mysterious ways.

I’m happy for your approval, I saw another UK couple just updated and marked their NOA as the 16th. Things are happening, slowly. Let us know when you get your hard copy in the mail and be prepared for those 7am calls to the NVC

It’s bittersweet isn’t it, happy for the people who received but feels unfair for yourself. It’s so frustrating, it really got to me some days.

As for the 7am NVC calls, won’t be happening.  Matt works from 2/3am we’re just going t have t wait it out

We were told by tier 1 that our case is being processed, she was unable to say what part of the case is being processed, but there’s no RFE on file.

taking it as good news at this point. Tier 2 didn’t call back

    Fingers crossed for you.

Whenwe had called at the end of Feb start of March we was told the same thing by tier one but still not had anything back as of yet.  Hoping matt finishes a little earlier today so he can try getting a callback from tier 2.

Have you started getting things in order like the ACRO check?

I think the USCIS works in mysterious ways, and one can never know how long it will take!

Your applications is still within the normal 6-8 months range, so hopefully you will receive something soon enough. It is possible that it is taking a little longer because of the K2, I guess there are additional checks associated that they have to carry out.

Stay patient, your application will arrive when you least expect it! Keeping my fingers crossed for you

    ☺️

Also I see that you're moving to Charleston. Such a beautiful place, very jealous!

I’m not moving t Charleston I don’t even know how that got there 🙈

Maybe you do, her name is Naomi im a little sceptical about putting her second name up on here, but you’d get it from that. She was always in Carlton. One of her best friends was Louisa, Kate she knew my kids nursery manager Anne Louise, I can’t think of anyone else in that year 🙈
