  1. Errata sheet? Just a letter since this is an online application?
  2. On my wife's N-400 it says I ( USC spouse) was married two times. I was married three, two before and to her. On all other applications, I-130 and I-751 it lists all three and we have always sent in both divorce certficates. I did upload both with the N-400. Should I do something before her interview which is May 20 or just have her point out the error as soon as they start the interview? We have always sent both divorce certificates on all applications. I'm sure they will see the error.

  4. OK. I'm going to just keep quiet and let her keep studying them. It can't hurt!
  5. Actually, my wife has been studying a list of "definition" words. I don't know where she found it but it must have been on some Vietnamese user group. There are 100 words or phrases with definitions. Words like "parole" "conviction" "pardon", etc. The two questions the person above was asked are also two of the words or phrases that my wife is studying. This is in addition to the 100 civics questions. I haven't heard of this before she started studying them and haven't read anyone else's interview summary that asked these questions but she was adamant that some interviews include these questions. The post above is the first confirmation that I've heard of it.
  6. Correction, we filed one I-751, not two. They arrived at the same time.
  7. We just received notice on the USICS site that my wife's N-400 interview has been scheduled. I assume this is a combo interview but there is nothing on the letter that states that it is. If it is a combo interview does the letter state that both she and I attend? Also, my wife's 17 year old daughter immigrated with her. Does she need to attend for eith the I-751 interview or the N-400 interview? We did file I-751 for each.
  8. Just received notice on th USICS site that my wife' interview was scheduled for May 20. Lucky timing because we leave for vacation May 23 for 8 days. We filed 1/25 which was right at the 90 days before 3 years.
  9. File an amended return for your 2022 return and add her and her SSN. The good news is you will get a refund as your standard deduction will go up from single to married. I did this as well as I was living overseas with my wife until her visa was approved. When we got to the US I filed an amended return as married filing jointly.
  10. We did have my wife's daughter do an extra year although she arrived in US after almost completing grade 9 when we moved (only 6 weeks left in the school year). She would have also graduated at age 17 if she went into grade 10, although a few months older than your daughter. We elected to have her do Grade 9 again for the same reasons you are thinking - more math, science and English as well as to put her in school to graduate at a normal 18 years old. What i don't know if your daughter can do is repeat grade 12 after she already graduates from high school. That would be something to discuss with your local school system. You should call the school district. I think they would be rather helpful. If she can, it might be wise to repeat grade 12 for more math/science as well as English, and most importantly, eliminate your original question of whether she enrolls in college as in-state or foreign student as she would have graduated from a US high school. If they absolutely won't let you repeat grade 12 after graduating from her home school due to some rule it may even be worth considering not letting her complete grade 12 at home with an incomplete at the very end of the year. Again, a discussion for your present school district.
  11. I filed single from Vietnam (stayed there during COVID) and then filed an amended return when we got to the US and she got her SSN. Got a refund due to extra standard deduction for being married.
  12. Not directed specifically at the OP, but why is it we see people always seem to need to urgently travel right after citizenship oath? Seems like there is a thread like this every week.
  13. I think he was thinking it was a good piece of evidence of a bona-fide marriage and wanted to include it. I understand where he was going on this and his asking of delaying only a month to include this evidence. I also agree with everyone else to move forward as early as possible with the filing.
  14. When 50% of the US citizen population can get 6 of 10 right they can make it harder.
  15. I sure hope not. I don't want to see Cackles-in-Chief for even a few months. If anyone says that no one is worse than Biden they need to look at the second in command.
  16. If the stepchild's father is on the child's birth certificate you will probably need the written permission from the bio father to take the child out of the country.
  17. I have never seen anyone on the VIetnam board overthink something as much as you are. There are tons of non-Vietnamese Americans that have had successful K1 applications without an engagement party. Probaly more than those that have for fear of it being viewed as a wedding ceremony and having to re-file as a CR-1. Being Vietnamess American you are already in a better position than most non-Vietnamese American couples as far as the consulate goes. Just relax and let your fiance go to the interview. Better yet if you can attend with her. It's going to be fine.
  18. True. It's just time waiting at that point. Good luck with her move!
  19. Congrats! LOL, been a long haul? It has barely started for you! In another 4 years after marriage, removal of conditions and citizenship application you can say it's been a long haul.😀 We just filed my wife's citizenship application January 2.
  20. This seems obvious but I wanted to check. My wife has submitted I-751 and just recently submitted N-400. If we are granted a combo interview does her 17 year old daughter that immigrated with her need to attend the I-751 interview as well?
  21. Yes, you did send it all. What I just did was send additional information since the I-751 filing like a birth certificate for my son, current real estate tax statement on our house as we have no loan, current health insurance cards showing all of us listed. I was only going to send quarterly bank statements since the I-751 but since I already had the previous two years in PDF from the I_751 filing I went ahead and sent three years' worth as it wasn't any inconvenience to simply upload them.
  22. Did you click on the tab marked Documents? That is where ours were. We did get hard copy letters in the mail yesterday, one for the receipt and one showing biometrics were reused. I did look online yesterday and both documents were there as PDF as well under that tab. On the home page they told me they estimated 6 months to completion. I understand that is just an estimate but that would work perfectly for us. Her daughter turns 18 in October so we should be well safe to get both citizenship before then. Wife has been diligently studying for the civics for an hour or two each night. I keep telling her that we have PLENTY of time but she just keeps doing it. Her spoken conversationa English is pretty good but reading and writing are lacking so she's taking this on as a social improvement as well. Lots of new words that aren't conversational English.
