  1. i am at the same situation. My husband interview was August 16, the co give him passport back and white paper 221(g), with no aditional documets required, and tell what they need more time for the case. I do not know what is mean, i hope they dont send our case back. Can anyone can help,???

If you have no additional documents required then you are in AP. It now becomes a waiting game. But don't despair, most AP are not that long it seems. Some are only a few days while others are several months. Good luck, I hope you hear something soon.

  2. It's very common to get the "dreaded" 221g form but it's not the end of the world. My husband thought it was when he got one too. It's just that your case needs more time to process, administrative processing or AP. If they didn't put on the paper specifically the reason why it's probably AP. Sometimes you may be missing infomation and they will include that in the notes at the bottom of the page. My brother in law just had his diverity visa interview a week ago and also got a 221g form. His clearly stated that they were waiting on something for his daughters medical exam. It happened to get to the consulate 3 days after the interview and now he has to wait a few weeks.

My husband was in AP for a considerable amount of time, over 5 months. Not everyone has to wait that long. Some only have to wait a few weeks, others have to wait longer. I hope you don't have to wait long, good luck :)

  3. I think my BIL, SIL and their daughter's interview must have gone ok. They were given the lovely 221g form and it was highlighted with the one thing that hadn't come back yet. Some part of their childs medical records were not back from the doctors. The interview was 8/16 and my BIL has already gotten an email saying that the record is back. Now just to wait for the consulate to check it and I hope they will be joining us very soon. :)

  4. In your other post it says that you were going for 10 days. That's not enough time to marry in Morocco. It took us 15 days and I was there a month in total. I also went back 3 more times while waiting for his visa. I personally would not change a thing about our decision to marry in Morocco. No one way is easier than the other. My husband felt as though he needed to get married in Morocco so that was why we chose the CR1.

  5. Hi Elizabeth,

This is such an exciting time for you. I met my husband over 10 yrs ago. He is from Kenitra, Morocco. We've been married just over 10 yrs now. It took us about 18 mos from wedding until he stepped foot on American soil. Lots of uncertainty along the way but we knew it would happen eventually. You've found a wonderful place to get answers about the immigration process. Good luck and enjoy your time in Morocco :)

  6. Totally agree with the volunteering. My hubby twice a week sometimes three would volunteer at the humane society and play with kittens all day and walk dogs. It's not much but it made time go by while waiting for his EAD. He loved it and still volunteers to this day even though he got his EAD a couple years ago :)

That's great :) Volunteers are so needed everywhere. I hope I volunteer someday when I retire.

  7. I think using a lawyer is a waste of time and money. I've known several people that have used them for K1 and CR1 visas and really they could have done it themselves and gotten better results. I would hire a lawyer only if there was a problem.
