51 days and counting!!

We do seem to be the smallest group! Hopefully that means fast things for us.

Hard copy of NOA1 in the mail today. Hoping for a speedy process.
-
We're finally part of the waiters! Got the NOA1 text and email on the 27th. Now I just need to mail out a few documents that I forgot to put in the envelope, with our case number, to complete the package.
It would have been an RFE for sure so hopefully this completes everything with no additional problems.

Hi all!
My fiance sent our I-129F to Lewisville on Nov 15th, it was received on Nov 18th and he said he's received our text this afternoon with receipt number starting with WAC. Very excited!
Any tips on stuff we should be doing to get ahead on the next steps right now or do we just sit and wait patiently?
That's awesome, congrats on getting started! Same exact dates for me but no text yet. Hopefully any day now so I can start waiting again!
I'm waiting for my number so I can mail in some additional information that needs to be added, so I hope it's soon.

That looks like everything that I included as well (except that I forgot one of our divorce decrees, which I'm mailing today to avoid any RFE's). So hopefully we are good to go!
Good luck!

All that can be said is relax and slow wayyyyy down, you don't want anymore snags. Hopefully you'll relax breathe and slow down.
Yeah, I'm relaxed and typically a very thorough person. I fill out government documents all the time and I still missed something.
I think I have it this time. (I Hope!)

UPDATE:
OK....this is a place of learning and I learn something new every day! I did a few dumb things. I found out what happened to my application and it's pretty stupid of me. We initially started filling out the l-129f last year, I kept the same form and completed it. Mailed it without realizing it has been updated. My application was rejected because of an out dated form.
I filled out the correct one and it was delivered this morning. BUT, I realized that I forgot to include a copy of divorce papers. So I generated my own RFE! I'm waiting for my case number (Hopefully I'll get that today) so I can add it to the additional paperwork and mail it out today to complete my package.
I can't imagine that this would be an issue and hopefully things will go smooth from here.
I hope this can possibly help someone in the future!

Just got NOA1 in the mail yesterday 11/13.
Received at USCIS 10/31
USCIS mailed out NOA1 on 11/6.
Strangely I never received a text/email despite filing G1145.
Great news for you! Congrats!

I just sent the simple letter as well, no receipt since it didn't seem like it was required. IF my application ever gets there. I'll let everyone know if there was a problem.
And there is no way that I should be trusted to make wedding plans! That is something that should be done together and it's unreasonable to have to provide that before your soon to be can physically be there to help.

I mailed an application for AOS on 10/16 and did not get a receipt notice until 3 weeks later. I am not sure if my answer helps, but USCIS has until 30 days to provide you with a receipt notice.
That's good to know. I think my problem is with the post office at this point. It could have gone round trip by pony express by now.

My fiance sent ours on Nov 1st, then it's delivered to lockbox on Nov 5th. Then fiance got NOA1 by text on Nov 12
Did you have someone sign for it? I forgot to do that and I'm thinking that might be the problem.

It maybe sitting there and they haven't "touched it". This is going to be a long process so I can only say patience is what will get you through this. Welcome to the thread and we are glad you are here.
That's what I'm hoping.
I appreciate it! This site has helped us a lot and I'm sure it will continue to do so.

Yea that sounds like an unreasonable delivery time. Hope they figure it out for you!
Thanks, me too! I'm already preparing to send it again! Good thing there are a few copies of the package laying around...

That's strange, it should not take 12 days to deliver a package via USPS. I don't know if you did priority but it only took me two days to deliver. You might wanna follow up on this with USPS.
I think so too. I followed up today but no call back from the post office. It departed the Dallas Distribution Center on the 4th and that's the last I've heard.

Well, did you send the package with signature required or some type of tracking? Check the courier and see if it was delivered and signed for. Has your check been cashed? Check with your bank. Each of these are forerunners to receiving your NOA1.
No signature but it has tracking. It's just lost in space right now with no USPS update. The check hasn't been cashed yet. I'm sure it will update soon, I was just expected it to get there by now considering it was only supposed to take two days.

Hey everybody! Mailed in the app on Nov 1, still haven't heard a peep! No delivery confirmation...nothing.
Hope to hear something soon so I can start our timeline.

i sent in my i29f july 31 and didn't get NOA1 until august 15. it seems other people were getting their NOA1's much quicker than me but i did eventually get it . so don't worry. one thing i was doing at that time was checking my bank acct to see if they cashed my check yet and when they finally did i got my hard copy a few days later 🙂
Cool. I appreciate that info! I checked to see if it was cashed today...no luck yet.

Then you need to ask the USPS about
Doing that. They are trying to track it down and call me. I'm sure it's no big deal, I was just expecting it to arrive and have a notification a little faster.

Not delivered...in transit.

2 to 3 weeks is not unusual. Do you have tracking information?
I do, but it hasn't been updated since the 4th. I didn't request a signature (I just realized I should have) but I should get delivery confirmation.
I'm just hoping it didn't get lost! Everyone knows how important all of that info is.
We're probably over excited and impatient like everyone else.

I mailed our package on the 1st of November via USPS and still nothing. Is it normal for it to take this long to arrive?
Thanks in advance and sorry if it another stupid question. I tried to find the answer in other threads but didn't find anything.
Immigration Attorney
in Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)
Posted
I don't know anything about waivers(hopefully won't have to), but my lawyer referred me to an "immigration attorney" since immigration isn't his thing, for my K-1. I had a few questions, nothing very complicated, just to see if I would be better off using an attorney. He didn't have any information that I didn't already have from research on my own and from this site, and was clueless on a few other things. It seemed like I would be doing all the work anyway and just paying someone to fill out forms.
It sounds like your situation might require more expertise and you might benefit from using a lawyer, but if you can do it yourself, do it.
Incredible waste of $200.00 for 10 minutes and 3 emails.
