  1. Ah. They dont know anything there..I would suggest going through with getting the ssn based on the I-94...You can always change last name  later.. Here in New York you are not allowed to change your middle name.. If youre name is Jane Smith Doe and you married John Brown...You can either use your maiden name or go with Jane Smith Brown...This is what i did.. I am a US citizen now ....so i changed my middle name based on the Philippine rule ..My US passport is like Jane Doe Brown...my driver's license is Jane Smith Brown....i did not apply for dual citizenship yet...its all good though on me..

  2. I dont understand why doesnt she have an address when she is living in an apartment that obviously has a landlord. The landlord should know the address of the building she is living now. Why dont she ask the Landlord whats the address in that apartment and then add the household serial number which is basically the house number.

By the way, is that her permanent residence? Does she have an ID or passport? Whats the address in her ID?

When I travel to the Philippines (soon) to get married, do I need to set an appointment at the embassy to prove my "not married" status?

I also read in another thread about bringing my proof of health insurance. And also my financial records, I thought this part was later on in the process.

    Thanks in advance..

I think you mean the certificate of legal capacity to marry....

You can actually get an affidavit in lieu of legal capacity to marry. Here are the requirements.

    . Requirements.

    • Appointment Confirmation
    • U.S. Passport (must be valid)
    • Divorce Decree (if the foreigner is divorced)
    • Death Certificate of Spouse (if the foreigner is a widow/widower)
    • $50 transaction fee (cash and credit card are accepted)

My wife is travelling back to the Philippines in March. It looks like she will have a 13 hour layover in LA. The flight is 14 hours to Manila and 4 hours from STL to LAX. It usually takes 24 hours to get the results of the test here. Does anyone know how they calculate the PCR test within 48 hours?

When i went home last Dec. It was 72 hrs. I got confused too because i tried to count the hours and i had 7hrs lay over in LA, plus the time change but its not how it works..its 72 hrs or 3 days  before departure from place of origin. So with yours its 2 days before boarding the plane to LA

Hehe...part of the reason I got so excited was.... last time I asked about timing....I got these two replies from  folks that had just been through it... :

We did that too fiancee called but they dont have our case yet and it might take 7 weeks they said..My fiancee waited for two weeks and call again but receive the same answer ...2 days after i decided to email them..then after 5 days i received an email from them with our case number..thats a total of about 3 weeka from approval date which was May 23.. Just hang in there you might have it probably anytime next week.

For my timeline I received approval 7-3-2018, it arrived at NVC 2 weeks later on 7-17-2018, then case number was assigned on 7-19-2018, then it left NVC on 7-24-2018. So you should call for your case number on or around 8-13-2018. early next week you should have your case number, by next Friday I would think would be the for sure should have it date. It is all different for each case, but you should be seeing it really soon.

Can these possibly be correct?  If so....I have hope...hehehe.

Yes ..heeh the first response was mine..every case is different...well im here now in the US with my love...hope everything goes well with you guys

My fiancee' is saying that they ask what the purpose is for the NBI clearance and wants to know what she should put.  Is just putting, "K1 Visa Application" enough?  Or do we need to put, "For Travel Abroad".   Thanks and sorry if this information has been posted somewhere as I don't see it.  Thanks again.

She can tell for visa. Anyway they will still release a multipurpose clearance

I've had him filling out the affidavit of support and he's gathered the supporting documents already. And I have filled out the ds160 just not submitted it yet . I have the evidence and everything ready to go as well. But to my understanding I can't really do more than that until I hear something right? Once I have the nvc number, I can submit the ds-160 and then do my medical and book the interview? Am I missing something in there? And To book the interview do I have to call the embassy ?

    Maybe this will help

Just trying to get as much done as we can, while we wait for a MNL number from NVC....

Can the DS-160 be completed before we have the MNL #?

I know it is filled out online.....by my fiancée.... but is there somewhere I can see a copy of the form (all the questions)...so if she has any questions, I can try and assist?

    Thanks.

Google it...sample ds-160 you will see a sample

Hi so I have been trying to follow this thread, but I'm feeling really lost as to what my next steps are. We received our noa2 June 20 and have not heard anything from nvc or anything. My fiancee received the approval letter from USCIS saying it was approved and that we will hear soon about next steps but it has been almost 2 months and nothing. He has been compiling the financial documents needed and I have been working on the ds-160 (but not submitted it yet) but I don't really understand how to book my medical or an interview if we haven't heard anything. What information do I need to book them? Or can I do it now without having heard from them? Any help would be appreciated. I honestly feel like  I'm losing my mind sometimes in this process

Hi did you all NVC or email them. When we got our NO2 we called them twice about 2 weeks after to get our NVC case number  and they said they dont have our case yet so i decided to email them and got a response after 5 days.

I am a little confused, now that USCIS has approved our I-129F....(July 26th)

Between chats...research...and links...I thought I was to call NVC every day...until I get a MNL number.  I have been doing that....and when I call...they say they don't even have a file on me yet.  But I also read...that it might take a few weeks for them to receive my file, and once they get my file...it might take a few weeks to assign it a MNL number?  What is right?

Is there any point or likelihood I can  secure a MNL number anytime soon....or should I wait a few weeks?  Or does my call...cause them to assign me a number?

I kinda feel lost at this point...now that my file is somewhere between USCIS and NVC.  I want to be doing everything I can....to expedite being with my love.

    Doug

    Thanks

Hey all! Just a quick question I needed some help with- I've been googling IMBRA and can't find the answer/am not sure. For the K-1 visa can anyone tell me if Pinalove.com would count as an IMBRA? These are the terms of service--

    https://www.pinalove.com/terms.php

Any help would be appreciated so much.

I know a girl who met her fiance in Pinalove she was with me yeaterday during my CFO seminar. We were able to discuss topics about how we met our fiancees, one girl there said she met her fiancee in cherrybloosoms same as me and she got RFE during petition. She was asked to send a copy of the sites terms and condition. Its weird because i was never asked and the girl from Pinalove she was never questioned about it.

omg I thought everything is done after the medical/interview and when you receive you visa/passport. So the CFO seminar is another thing to worry and prepare lol Isn't it supposed to be just a seminar? Thank you for sharing - very helpful.

Yes. CFO is another step you need to prepare. I thought the same too before. I thought its just a seminar but NO. Yes there is a seminar then right after the seminar is one on one interview. You still need to prove to the counselor that your relationship is genuine. Withball the stress ive been through..lol..finally now i can sleep well..hehe

  14. My CFO experience went well today. I was so happy. My flight is on monday Aug 13. I was so afraid they might ask for documents that i dont have.

I was in the office very early 5:30 am.  its not really necessary but i was trying to avoid traffic. Around 8am we went to 4th floor for registration. I gave the online appointment form to the guard and waited for my name to be called. I was then called and went to the lady who asked if i got a visa already and i said yes. I presented my passport and they took a picture of me then gave me a form to fill up. After filling up the form i went back to the cashier area and the lady asked for my 2 valid ids and ID of my petitioner (passport photocopy, driver's license) i presented Driver's license since his passport expired last May. They still asked for the passport though and also his birth certificate. Then after checking the docs she told me to come back around 1pm or before 2 for the seminar.. Around 1pm i went back and talk with the other k1 visa holders there. I paid the 400 pesos at the cashier and waited for the seminar to start. The facilitator Miss Gia Mae Samonte is very nice. She is so cool you will feel comfortable around her..I started to pray wishing she will be the one who will do the one on one interview. I was so lucky i guess hehe..She really was the one who handled the interview. When she started the interview she told me the more you share mam the better. I talked a lot about my relationship with my fiance while she randomly asked me questions. I feel at ease around her so the interview was easy for me. She asked for my fiances passport copy and passport stamp of his visits. She also asked for our pictures together. I was just like talking to a friend and we were speaking in our dialect so its easy. Then she told me i will now endorse you to our head..Now this time i begin to feel nervous because the head is so strict. When we went out in the room the second room where the head of cfo interviewed my friend was still close so she went to another lady in the cashier and talked to her about my case and release my certificate and sticker .Yahooooo...i waited for my friend for like 20mins..wow ..when she was done she said the head of cfo asked for a divorce decree from court that shows the reason for the divorce of her fiance. She was so sad her fiance was divorced twice and she brought the divorce decree but she was asked for another document. She met her fiance once for 7 days and she was questioned about it. The intentions of fiance and evrything she almost cried. I feel sorry for her.  Her flight is also monday...I hope someone can help her.She called her fiance and her fiancee cried because the decree he sent to her is the decree released by court..they dont know now what the cfo counselor is looking for..any one had an idea on this?

Anyway im happy im going to see my fiancee soon...My flight is on Monday..Good luck everyone

Yes....she got two copies....but they both said that.

She said there was no boxed she checked....which would have precipitated that result.

I was able to get cenomar in 3 different ways...Online, in the municipal hall and in the main office of PSA... With online, you will be asked for a purpose of the cenomar , it wont go through without clicking the boxes for purpose (marriage, employment, travel/passport etc.)..if you get a cenomar in local municipalities the form you will fill up still requires you to check a box for the purpose and the person in charge make sure you click one of the boxes..this is the same as getting cenomar in the main office of PSA..

How long is a typical K1 Interview in Manila?

Fiancé had a 8:40 am Appointment and the phone is in the hotel but still no word, I feel like I'm waiting for a baby to be born lol

Hahaha the interview itself will take only 5-10 minutes but there are a lot of people inside with her for interview as well. She might be waiting for her turn. The waiting i think takes longer than the interview..When i went for my interview which was scheduled 7:10am i was there as early as 5am. Lol..well they let us in 6:40am..I was out of the premises with a smile and teary eyes lol @8:12am..
