Now after submitting 2nd medical case has been returned to NVC. Does that mean we have to start all over again. I am dying just with this thought.

OMG! Thats horrible!
What is your story? Is your husband a citizen? How did he get to USA? How did you interview go?
I can't imagine why after this much time in AP they would ask you to redo the medical just to return it!!

So after 13 months of adminstrative process with Ds5535, we received an email to redo the medic and for an updatedDs-260. i did that and sent it. There was constant update and exactly after 15 days on this friday the statua shows case Returned to NVC from administrative process. I am in severe depression now. This is the 4 year since my husband applied for me I-130. Any idea why this happened as i have not seen this happening.

May be its time to switch the senator. Get the 2nd senator from your state .
Ok we will try that too. I sent an email query to the embassy last month. Dint get any reply just a date update. We have been patiently waiting but atleast we should get a response.

The day embassy responds to the senator, your update date will change. I would say easiest way is to keep an eye on your case and wait for the date to change and then give them a call a day later.
Yes i check the date but there is no update. God knows why they are taking forever.

you have to call them and remind the office that you need a follow up. They take forever if you email them.
My husband called the senator office. She said that they cant do anything on this and then she said she can only email and ask the update. This was last week but no update from the senator office and the embassy.

Will we get the visa? The waiting period seems like never ending. I hope it ends well for all of us.

Life is too short and when you dont know for how long you have to live like this you just question yourself why this is happening. I know no body can do anything. We just have to pray and have faith but i dont have more patience left. I miss my husband. Its been 3 years since we start our process.

Hello everyone,
I am here to share the good news. My husband's visa got issued today exactly 17 months after his interview date.
I hope this journey ends for everyone who is waiting. This waiting journey was really frustrating and emotionally draining for me, and I am sure it is the same for everyone who is going through this. But thank God, it came to an end.
I am on cloud 9 today. I am very grateful and thankful for this day. I hope everyone waiting gets to see this day soon.
Thanks
Many congratulations to you. So happy for you. Pray for the rest of us too. 1 year passed after my interview.

Hello guys. Finally a long tough journey came to an end. I got my visa today. Thanks to you all and this forum as I have got a chance to talk to so many good people here. We all have helped each other as we are facing the same situation. My visa category is v92. My mother is my petitioner. My interview was on 20th sep 2017. They approved it but later sent me Ds5535 in email. It took 16 months and then in January 2019 I got an email for an updated medical and after 15 days of medical submission, I have finally received my visa. I have spent 6 years without my mom.. so eager to meet her soon InshaAllah. I can only say that dont lose hope, you will eventually get your visa at a perfect time decided by Allah. I was so depressed in these 16 months. I left my studies after interview, my engagement got broken due to some reasons and I was all alone in the darkness. No job, no studies and no support. I kept thinking abt my visa and used to check and stare at my ceac status daily even on weekends. I prayed a lot and Allah finally helped me. Please pray for me. I am praying for u all ..may all of you meet your beloved people soon ameen. Its always a light at the end of a tunnel.Cheers and Good luck.
Finally. Many many congratulations to you dear. Please pray for me too as i am also in the same situation. I have stopped meeting people because of this. I get depressed because i am away from my husband. Never thought that life is going to be like this. But i am so happy for you. I just pray that me and everyone who is in this situation get their visa because this is so unfair to us. Thanks for sharing your whole experience. Much love. ❤️

Hello Everyone,
My name is Umar and I am a USC living in Chicago. I have been reading different threads for the last two years but never shared my immigration journey. So here it goes....
- Me and my wife got married on January 6th, 2017 in Lahore, Pakistan.
- I submitted i130 petition with all supportive documents on March 8th, 2017
- i130 was approved October, 2017.
- My wife had her interview in NVC Islamabad Embassy on February 14th, 2018.
- She was given from 221g (White Paper) and her passport was kept.
- One week later she received form DS-5535 in the e-mail which asked to provide all travel history, passport numbers, social media, emails etc.....
- We provided all the information within a week.
- Since then our case has been updated about 7 times. Each time it was updated because we inquired about the status of the case either via e-mail or through our congresswoman. Most recently it was updated on January 9th, 2019 when my congresswoman sent a written mail to the NVC Islamabad and inquired about the case.
- Their response was generic that it is still going through AP processing. See file attached.
- We are coming to almost 1 year since my wife had her interview and since we filled out DS-5535 questionnaire.
Since DS-5535 is fairly new and was implemented by Trump administration sometime in 2017, my question is did anyone get approved between that time? How long have people been waiting since responding to DS-5535? I know this process is long and could take 1 to 2 years but I just wanted to know if anyone has been approved and after how long?
Thank you all for your time and I hope everyone unites with their loved ones sooner rather than later.
Good Luck!
Umar and Sana
Hello,
Just like your wife i am also stuck in administrative process with DS-5535 questionnaire and my interview was in March 5, 2018 at islamabad embassy. We also got few updates because of the inquiry we made through our congressman and we also got the exact attached response from the embassy.

Our case updated again today (it's our second wedding anniversary) but I think its because I asked the Senator to inquire on my case and probably not an update by its self. I'm still trying to remain hopeful.
Happy wedding Anniversary. Mine is going to be 3 years wedding Anniversary next month.. The date update is because of the Senator inquiry as i also got date update because of that. But still one hope or one good news give us hope too. I pray we all get good news soon.

Hello. Anybody having idea about how to submit updated medical to american express islamabad?? If there are two applicants then both of them have to go there to submit the medical and other required docs or only one applicant is enough for submission. Please reply from your personal experience.
Did the islamabad embassy ask? If yes then this is such a refreshing news.

@S.S I have seen one case in VJ where a lady conceived while waiting in AP after interview. The embassy called and asked to do baby's medical before issuing everyone a visa. She was a F4 beneficiary. You should ask about the process involved when you inquire about your case.
Thanks..My visa category is F2-A. We already waited 2 years for the interview.. We planned to start our family together but who knew about this night mare Ds5535 which has no time frame.

Oh God people are still waiting for so long.. i know it's irrelevant but what if someone who got Ds5535 conceive at this stage? Do they have to start the process all over again?

Interviews are still being scheduled and completed other agencies are still running as usual. I'm not exactly sure though with our process (ds-5535) if any of the agencies involved are affected by the shut down.
5 hours ago, Sarac9 said:I have a friend who is a federal government workee he said, affiliated agencies are being affected by the shutdown and it's slowed things down.
Thanks. DS-5535 is already very very very slow. God help us.
