Hi S.S, I have had consistent updates in my case. I had inquired the embassy informing them that my husband’s 2nd medical will be expiring on the 26th of October and I received an email from the embassy asking for my husband to come to the embassy to re-administer his oath, new fingerprints and 3rd medical as his old ones have expired. I went with my husband to the embassy for the appointment and we had a very pleasant time. The embassy is brand new and it seems like they have new staff who are all very friendly and most of them are young. Overall our appointment went really well.

To answer your question about the 2nd medical, the embassy emailed myself and  my Senator’s case manager requesting for my husband to mail them his 2nd medical. We have never received any calls from the embassy for anything, they always contact us via email.

Thank you and best of luck to you as well!

Hi M.R123, Its good that the embassy is brand new but thats not helping us. We all

are waiting for so long and now i dont see visa issuance for the past 3-4 months.. Did you ask them about your visa issuance and how long will it take after your 3rd Medical?  If they are friendly they could tell you about that, its high time now.. hope to hear some good news.. 👍🏻

My husband had his interview in August. He then asked to give papers to prove my domicile (US citizen). Then he received a questionnaire to fill out (siblings, addresses and social media etc...)

its been three weeks we haven’t heard anything back. His medical exam was taken In August. If they decide to give the visa for example in January or even February does the medical exam still count because it’s technially their fault they have the visa late.

Will he have ave the full six month period until for example April or May to travel. Or does he have to travel before medical expires. I’m so frustrated and confused as to why it’s taking this long.

Where is your husband from? I got the same thing and i am waiting for 7 months after the interview.

Zaib I can completely understand the pain you and your parents are going through. My husband's case has been stuck in AP since June 15th and in total it's been 2 years and 6 months since the case started. There are no words that can ease the pain but we can't lose hope. There is great power in prayers and we must continue to bow-down to Allah and keep asking him for help. InshaAllah the day will come very soon when our cases are "issued" and we'll be reunited with our loved ones. You must keep encouraging your parents to stay strong and think that there must be someone out there who has been waiting much longer for their visa to be issued. Best of luck to you and your parents!

Hi M.R123 Any update on your case? I am close to 8 months now and still waiting.. can you please tell me when the embassy called you for your medical, was it from their embassy number with 051 code and not any random mobile number? Best of luck to you.

No update at all it's been 13 Months and 11 days since his interview.

13 months is a very long time :( i am close to 8 months now. I got DS 5535 and my husband has sponsered me. Did you do anything like contacting the senator or sending query to the embassy? If yes then what response did you get?  My husband contacted the senator and they got the same reply that my case is still refused and under administrative process. Still after interview plus 8 months.

Does anyone know the process to submit updated medicals to Islamabad. My family went to mail them and they told them that they needed a login for ustraveldocs/pk which has me confused because that is a website for people who are going to apply for visas.

I think you submit documents/medical through American express but i never heard about this login thing..

IMHO, I think that it's not so much of being from a country that is on the banned list but more so people who have traveled outside of their home country perhaps to some of the banned countries that are getting the DS-5535 form, but then who knows why they do it.

I have NEVER travelled anywhere oustide my Country but still i got this DS5535 form. Now what could be the reason? At the time of the interview i was being told that i got the visa. This all is so confusing.

Yes.. It's me who is in Ap since last seven months with ds5535 filled on same interview day.. Contacted with congressman too but useless.. Just waiting and waiting..

After contacting the congressman did you see more updates like the embassy is working on your case and looking at your file? I have no updates. just once or twice when i submitted the form and now only when i sent any query to the embassy.

uh, allah swt helps you out, don't worry. so question arises:

    1) when you got DS5535 form (after interview or while interview)

    2) have you provided DS5535 form to CO

    3) they need time to validate, so be optimistic and hopeful, they might be working on it in background

    4) is there any progress on dates after interview

administrative process mean due diligence and names check to ensure everything is in order. good luck girl, nothing worry. if haven't provided DS5535 to CO then better take expert advise from lawyer, if you have this privilege.

I got DS5535 the next day after the interview via email.. and at the end of the  interview i was being told that i got the visa and can collect my passport within 5-7 days. I was so happy but it lasted for a day.

Yes we provided all the information the very next day.

Date changed only after when we provided that form and the 2nd time after 1 month of that. Now nothing happening.

Thank you. I see this website daily to hear good news. Even 1 good news meant a lot. I pray we all get visas soon.

what is "catering", sorry i didn't understand that.

no DS5535 at all, i think it is expired now whoever appeared November onward not required provide from DS5535, unless someone from this forum got it for reasons.

    Sorry category i meant.

i got DS5535 form although its an expired form but people are getting it and i even dont know the reason for that. My husband sponsered me (green card holder). I got interview call after 2 years. Interview was successful, no document missing and they kept my passport but still i'm waiting for 6 months after the interview under some administrative  process.

We received an email for the embassy asking for additional social screen handles/screen names. Apparently they sent an email on June 12th but neither one of us received it.

Since then I have responded and sent in the information (same as we did when we first was requested in February) they asked for an updated travel history, previous phone numbers, previous passport numbers, etc.

Again I answered all they asked for and reminded them that it is still the same information provided the first time they asked.

I am hoping this is a sign that at least it's being worked on.

Oh but why they are asking the same questions again:(.. i think your medical is also expired and mine will also expire this month.. did you involve your congressman or senator and did they response you?

Ur hubby's medical will expair in oct 2018.today it's confirm.2nd medical is valid for only 6 months.

My brother medical test was in Feb 2018.& expeir in Aug 2018.

Embassy asked for 3rd medical so ur hubby's medical will expeir in oct.I m sure.even on envolpe my brothers expire date is 2020.

So don't b confuse any more

Oh they asked for the 3rd medical? For how long they will be asking for medical. Did your brother also get DS5535( additional information questionnaire)after the interview... and by looking at this forum i see that the islamabad embassy is not issuing visas after june. I hope they start issuing visa really fast.

Yes, they emailed the questionnaire a few days after my husband's interview.  In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with reminding them as they have so many cases and it could be possible they may have forgotten about some cases and put them aside.  I have a relative who retired from the US embassy in Islamabad many years back and he tells me that when he worked at the embassy the consular would put folders of peoples cases aside and would look at them after a long while for no apparent reason (this is what I've heard from a relatives personal experience).  Hopefully, we can change the trend and more people in this forum receive visas in the upcoming months.

Oh yes that is possible, our files are pilling up just like that.. This all is so depressing.

how much we have to wait, we all have no answer to that.
