I haven't been able to find a thread of how often the Consulate at Madrid hosts Fiance visa interviews so I wanted to know if anyone whose gone through the process or going through it now, how often do they conduct the interviews? I've seen some VJ members post (From other countries) that their interview appointments aren't until mid January.

My fiancé and I have just gotten our case from the NVC and will be sent out to the embassy in the next week, I wanted to get an idea of how long until he is able to come back. Also if anyone could let me know how long it took for a case to ship from NVC to Madrid that'd be great and how long it took to receive the P4 after sending the P3 back?

Any answer to any of my questions would be tremendous help. Thanks all!

    Hi Grace,

We received notification from the NVC on October 16th and the documents arrived to the US Embassy in Madrid by October 23rd. AS we were waiting for the P3 and nothing was coming, another girl with similar timeline than me advised me to send an email to the Embassy, so I did and received the P3 by email on November.

Concerning the P4 I cannot give you and answer because I have just sent my P3 today, so in the waiting game!!!

hope this could be helpful to you!

    Thanks!!

Yes, hopefully they send you P3 tomorrow too. Just gather all the documents you need. You can follow the one that @Greenbaum provided you because it’s exactly the same. So whenever they tell you you are good, you can send them. I sent it with correo express yesterday around 1pm and it got there this morning at 9 am. It was pretty fast.

    Good luck!! 😃

I do hope so....I Will let you know.

Please keep me post with your good news…

    Thanks again!

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

    Thanks

    Done!!!!

Here is what you'll receive for your P3 from your Embassy. You have an advance copy. You still need to be in touch with your Embassy for instructions.

Spain requires the embassy send the packet 3 which allows the beneficiary to schedule and attend the medical and needs to be brought to the medical appointment, and in order to book the interview Spain requires packet 4. I have not verified this but this information came from someone who processed recently.

    Thanks so much Greenbaum!

Congratulations. I'd like to point out that the majority of those who are in this thread are K-1 visa chasers. You would be better served if you were in this thread https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/134-ir-1-cr-1-spouse-visa-case-filing-and-progress-reports/. Good luck to you.

    Hello,

I emailed the embassy telling them our situation and they emailed me the Packet 3 with the instructions.

    The embassy email is: ivmadrid@state.gov

I sent them my P3 yesterday, so hopefully now I’m waiting for P4.

Btw, you should update your timeline here in VJ ☺️

Ok..so I am gonna email the Embassy explaining them our situation...fingers crossed!!

Thanks a lot and good look...Wow….you are almost there!!!

I have a question about the 1040 taxes return form. My fiancé sent me this document. But it doesn’t say anything about 1040. I looked some forms in the internet and they looked different. It says 1040 in the left corner.

I’m supposed to send 1040 and w2 of the last tax return for the affidavit. I have the w2 and this document.

Does anyone know if this is valid or equal to a 1040? Or do I need something else?

    Thanks a lot!!

    Hi,

I am also from Spain (Alicante) and I have a similar timeline than yours. Our case is "ready" since October 23rd, but still I do not have received anything from the Embassy (Madrid). I was wondering if you have contact the Embassy or if they have contacted you, and if they have sent you and email or by post?

    Thanks

It seems the lawyer already told them what to do? Which is contact USCIS on the link they put in the message. They need to do that ASAP, and also verify correct address.

Ok, I reread your message, you said 'My fiancé just move during this days  but the lawyer told to us that she will be in charge of contacting USCIS to inform them.'  By "she" I am guessing you mean the lawyer. Seeing how it has been over 3 months now since USCIS sent you this note, you might want to take initiative and contact USCIS directly, by just updating address and requesting they resend the document.

    Thanks!

My boyfriend just talk to the layer (she)...and everything was already set up. USCIS already have the new address and he also got the letter from USCIS with the address changed. He received it in June but did not remember it when I ask him today….

So everything is fine...OMG this process is a killer process!!!!!!

If I had to guess it might've been RFE? It was sent back in May. Your petitioner needs to contact them ASAP and update their address and request document to be resend.

Also, I would strongly suggest you edit out those images as your case number is plainly visible, and you don't want someone taking advantage of it (e.g. filling change address request on your behalf)

Thanks, my fiancé told was going to contact the lawyer…. hopefully it is not a big matter...

Oooh...did not realized about the image showing my case number….it is a way to delete the message?

  9. Never check the USCIS account, and today I have decided to do it. Well, It shows the following message and not sure what it means. It looks to me that they have send some documentation to us and that the post office has send it back. My fiancé just move during this days  but the lawyer told to us that she will be in charge of contacting USCIS to inform them. Any idea of what that could means?, anyone in the same spot?

Sorry for my English, I have tried to do my best.

Hopefully soon we Will start seeing some approvals!!!!!

    Good luck to everyone!

To my knowledge our case was not expedited but it seems it was approved two months early? We are thrilled of course. Thanks for noticing 👍

the only thing I can think of, is that I submitted a typographical error to correct the spelling of her surname. I had to correct spellings in 3 items on our application. I didn’t notice this until June I believe? I posted a discussion about it here. Anyways, it seems they fixed her misspellings without any problems and went ahead and granted NOA2.

we are still waiting on NVC to receive our documents. But we are relieved. Thanks.

    Congratulations!!!!! enjoyt it!!!!

  11. I applied for the tourist visa B2 just after filling the K-1 on March, 6. The lawyer advise me not to travel with my ESTA. I had my interview at the embassy and everything was fine. Just visit my boyfriend the first week of April. So you do not lose anything trying and most cases I read they got their tourist visa. It is true that the lawyer told me better to use it for short vacations like máximum 3 weeks.
