  1. After two long years, I finally had my interview on Monday, September 23rd. My case was transferred from the Miami office to Kendall in July and I think that's what moved my case forward. The interview lasted 20 to 30 minutes. The USCIS official reviewed the entire I-485 form and asked me some questions about my work and life in the United States.

On Tuesday I checked the old tracking website and it says new card it's being produced! I'm very happy.

It's been quite a journey where patience it's key. Good luck to those who are still in the process or who have just started.

    Hello! Any interview scheduled recently?

I filled I-485 in March last year (2018) and my status is in ready to be scheduled for an interview since May 7, 2018. I applied by Cuban Adjustment Act.

Depending on your field office it could take from less than a year to 2 and a half. You will find the processing time estimation in the USCIS official website.

I’m waiting since October 2017. I know people here from 2017 too.

Miami office is the worst in South Florida and probably the whole State. Kendall and Hialeah have better processing times.

Make sure you renew your work permit with enough time because they’re slow lately. Mine took 9 months.

Don’t want to give you low hopes, but probably you’ll have too, my wife is Oct 2017 and we’re still waiting for the interview notice. The good thing is that you can apply 4 months in advance, and they give you a 180 day extension so if you do it on time you have a 10 month buffer for processing, you can’t travel after your current expires though. My wife’s expire end of September and we’re preparing everything to file for renewal the next week or two. Another good thing is that there’s not processing fee for this, if you file on your own is free, if you file with a lawyer they shouldn’t charge more than 500-600 for it, it’s a very simple app.

I'm Miami Office Sept. 2017 filler too, under Cuban Adjustment Act and this is my current situation:

    - Greencard: still waiting for interview notice, last status change was March 2018

    - Combo card Work permit & Advanced parole: expired Dec. 2018. I'm currently enjoying my last days of the 180 days extension.

    - Work permit renew package sent on Sept. 1st 2018, last status "Case Was Updated To Show All Fingerprints Were Taken And Case Is In Process"

I called USCIS last week trying to get an Infopass but Miami Office is not currently accepting Infopass. The only thing I could do was open an inquiry ticket (the second for my work permit case).

I'm trying to figure it out with my employer how to deal with the possibility of losing my work permit for days, weeks, months, who knows :'( ... IT'S VERY FRUSTRATING!!!

Yeah Oct 16th 2017, and there aren’t many filers sharing online for Miami so really I have no clue what they are current scheduling.

The processing times decreased online last week a couple of months, hopefully I get the interview notice the next month or two as the date for RD for an inquiry is around 4 months away from mine.

BTW I could't schedule an Infopass, the website says the offices is not accepting info pass, neither walk-in. I called USCIS and they told me the Miami office is only accepting schedule Infopass by phone and for emergency cases only...

I know this isn't known for certain or it might just be a feeling a lot of people get, but a few days after the EAD extension was received, it seems my field office (ATL) scheduled my interview (which took over a year). I have zero clue if this is even possible, but it does raise some questions about their procedure: is it an accident that within a week or two of asking an EAD extension, the field office suddenly springs into action? I wonder if they (who provide the EAD) need to call up your field office to ask when the interview is, to make sure it is not useless to provide an extension. For example, in my case, I only received my AP extension, but I NEVER received my EAD extension, despite asking for this 2 months before my interview was. You would think that if they did not have the interview info, they would send me the EAD extension, as my interview was mid to end October, and my EAD expired mid November. The AP extension came start of September in my mailbox. AP and EAD were received simultaneously on their part, so they made the active decision to never give me an EAD extension when they received it on their desk as a combo.

This sounds a little bit complicated, but IF there is ANY chance your extension application might trigger your interview date to be scheduled, I would DEFINITELY ask for the extension as soon as you are allowed. You never know!

I asked for my extension on August 2018. Still no scheduled interview, no EAP and no AP.

    Hi there-

Any Miami FL filers out there with interviews recently scheduled? Or know anyone who has been scheduled recently?

I am curious to know what month they are currently scheduling now.

I am thinking of doing an infopass in March when I hit 1.5 years. Has anyone tried it? Did it work?

I’m MIAMI filler since October 2017 and still waiting for interview to be scheduled. I did an Infopass on November and it was useless.

  7. I sent my renew package for employment authorization two weeks ago, today I've received the form I-797C telling me they're processing my case and I got a new tracking code for followup. Ticket status says: Case Was Updated To Show All Fingerprints Were Taken And Case Is In Process.

Nothing new regarding my GC, still: Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview 😭

Great news from me today guys.

I had my AOS interview this morning at 6:45am in the Los Angeles (SFV) field office. Background info: Went without my husband as he’s deployed.

Arrived at 6:15 and there were already about 5 people waiting there. By 6:25 they let us in the bldg and after the metal detector we were in this large room and everyone dropped off their notices at a window. About about 6:50 or so I was called to go in. (Side note but I was surprised that the officers are just people in regular office wear. For some reason I imagined them to wear TSA type uniform and to be led into an interrogation room LOL. The interview was done in the officer’s office with his desk/cubicle). When I saw two large folders of the case files we submitted almost a year ago and our ID photo on his desk it made me feel kind of nostalgic lol. The officer also never smiled but he was kind.

I was definitely over prepared and he didn’t even ask to see half of the stuff I brought (like birth certificate etc). I was only asked about 10 or less questions. First was of course “why is your husband not here” so I presented his orders. He then asked to see all IDs i have (EAD, passport, drivers license, military ID) and to see medical. He then asked “how did you meet your husband” and to see proof of us living together, starting with last years tax return. I gave him the tax return, lease and joint bank account statement. “Would you like to submit any proof of relationship”. I showed him about 30-40 photos of our wedding and 3 vacation photos. I was surprised to see he actually went through all wedding photos lol. Then he asked to see our marriage certificate, and asked what I do for a living.

Most of the time he was typing on the computer or writing things down and not speaking a word. He then said “on my side everything looks good. I just have to ask my supervisor to approve bc your husband wasn’t able to attend.” I asked for clarification if that meant that I was approved, but he said it was up to the supervisor and I will be receiving something in the mail in 1-2 weeks. He then took copies of all photos and my IDs once we left his office (I’m assuming to show to his supervisor). When I was leaving he said congratulations and send me on my way. I was out of the bldg by 7:20.

At around 8:30 I already had the notification on my phone that my case had updated and it moved to “new card is being produced”. Yay!!

Good luck to everyone it’s been great having your support and I know your interviews are happening soon too. I wish you all the best!!

    Congratulations !!!

We filled AoS  2017-10-17, received my EAD 2018-01-02, since them nothing, we are in the scheduling your interview since Dec 07...

Seattle have a processing time of 22 months!

What happen if by the end of the year we are still waiting? Will I need to renew my EAD? Will that mean paying more fees??

You need to renew your EAD in time! Here's what the USCIS website says :

"To extend an employment authorization card, an application for renewal must be filed around 180 days prior to the expiration date printed on the card. An application for renewal of a work permit must be filed and accepted by the USCIS prior to the expiration of the card that was initially granted to the applicant."
