  1. I agree. That's why I'm NOT paying for childcare. I took all the suggestions into consideration and consulted with my fiance. We came to the conclusion that we will invite only adults and that's it. You can't come? too bad. I still want to roll & smoke, drink and dance and have my marriage officiant rap the ceremony (yes, you read right).

    Sounds fun! Have a blast!

  2. One time they wrote a number in my passport on the stamp (the stamp looked different than the ones I normally got). This was right after I filed for K1 and told the guy that so I wonder if it has something to do with them just noting that she doesn't plan to stay. Anyways, the next time I visited the person went to check it out on the computer and then came back a minute or two later and let me through. I've been back probably 20 times since that and nobody has looked at it again.

  3. I watched two episodes of the show and found it interesting. I don't remember names of the families but the one guy who is the football coach seems very dedicated to his team, one of the families who had a sister marry a guy who wasn't Muslim was a bit OTT for me. They all seemed happy, normal, and like they loved their families.

  4. Primarily in Saudi and Iran, maybe Yemen, but it's been a while since I've been there. Although Saudi defines the "Muslim world" in the minds of many westerners, due to its deeply tribal culture and alliance with Wahabbism, it's a very unique place where not much is the same as in other Muslim countries.

As far as most countries go, hijab is a trend that comes and goes, like in Egypt, for example. They're going through a phase where hijab is not legislated, but expected. When political fervor is high, women, as the bearers of tradition, are expected to cover. I'm going there soon, btw. I was supposed to be away now, but we had a funeral yesterday I had to attend.

Do you think there's a difference between those countries requiring non-Muslim women to wear them, and a non-Muslim country requiring a Muslim woman to show her face? To me, the showing of the face for things like the swearing in or immigration type things is more of a safety concern than anything else. How are you to know it's the correct person if they don't show their face?

  5. There are villages in many countries where the locals demand it, and there it's best to wear it, but in most places, it's no big deal. Western women rarely wear the head covering that conceals the hair anyway. They tend to just drape it like they would in the US on a windy day.

Ok thanks :) I was just curious. Are there any countries where there's a law that says women even if they're not from there must wear a covering?

  6. But I'm guessing you and your ol man have enough time spent together that each of you knows when it's time to hit the sack with a look or am I wrong?

I think everyone gets there. You still have to talk though, even if you don't want to.

Wow, I must be the odd-ball one who has a husband who's not a metrosexual, doesn't watch Lifetime, drinks beers and watches sports but still has a desire to actually speak to me about something other than a sandwich.

I think the majority of mean are actually like this
