hi all, just FYI - today I woke up to approved Advance parole and Work permit .... BUT! i have my green card interview in 5 days ... seems a little bit stupid of them to issue it like a week before the GC interview, but well ... I guess it will be OK, since the issue of the GC may take a while. My interview will be in Baltimore and will let you know how it goes.

Good luck, we had ours at Baltimore as well it’s good office and a lot of the officers are really friendly.

  2. Hi, guys we had our interview yesterday at Baltimore, MD! The officer was really nice and friendly, she mostly asked us questions about the applications, I was asked about I-130 and my husband was asked about I-485 and after that we were asked about how we met and if it was arrange or love and if we have any proof of us living together, luckily I took our wedding photos and our trips photos, I also took our joint account bank statements and the tax returned I filed for 2018 which was also joint. Once we were done she handed us a paper saying that our case needs to be reviewed and once it’s competed they will notify us if we are approved or denied. Our interview was at 10:45 am we were called in at 11:30 and we got done with our interview at 12:30, around 3pm our case status changed form interview scheduled to case is being held for review once competed we will mail you a notice and around 6pm it updated to new card being produced. I wish you guys all good luck, at least now we can rest for 2 years before filing for removal of  conditions. 😊

@SanaW or anyone who knows about address change:

I remember you saying you moved and changed address during the aos process.. I wanted to ask if you had to change anything else but your address with USCIS. I am assuming cause my husbands I-864 is not active yet the only address I will need to change is for I-485.. but I am not sure if I need to change anything else.

@Naes we already had our new address on our bank statements and bills but that’s about it so we only went on to the website and changed our address to new address but because I had been it MD for almost 6 months and had to show dual residency on my taxes. As long as you have your drivers license updated to your new address and are getting some bills or mail on your new address you should be fine.

    Good morning,

I just got a notification, saying "As of March 25, 2019, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485". We are based in MD... so I am just wondering how long did you wait from "ready" to the actual interview date. Also, if we get the Green Card, I do not need the work permit correct?

Thank you and have a great day!!

We applied in August so it’s been 7 months our case has been ready for interview since October that’s when we had our biometrics done and we got the update that interview was scheduled on the 25th of March! And no once you have green card you don’t need work permit😊

  5. Hi guys just an FYI we got our interview scheduled, just got an update today in case tracker I have moved to MD from CT 2 months ago and ended up changing our mailing address and now we will be having our interview in Baltimore, I’m glad that we were able to get a quick interview because I have seen people wait for a year or two to get there interview in CT area.

My AOS receipt date is Sept 21, 2018 and my latest status shows that as of Feb 21, 2019 my EAD card was just mailed to me. (Yay!) It took 150 days from receipt date to EAD approval via the NBC.  The AOS interview will be a much longer wait. 😕

However, my AP receipt number did not show any update on the case status search. It still says “Case received “.  I was wondering if that was just a data entry delay or if my AP was not approved? 🤔

I had the same problem, my EAD kept getting updated but nothing on the AP but when I received the approved letters it was for EAD and AP so it’s just a delay on their part! Don’t worry about it :)

    Hi everyone,

I sent aos pakage before 13 days but I didnt get any kind of notification yet, how much time should I wait to call them? Does anyone know how much is waiting time for conditional green card , is to get  authorisation for employment (EAD) faster to get or is the same waiting time for both ?

    Thanks!!

I would suggest waiting at least a week more before calling them on average its more like 15 days wait before you get your NOA1. The current wait time for EAD is between 4 to 6 months and for AOS its about an year, hope this helps.

Hi, I am in Milwaukee, WI and I got my SS card without problem after we were married, but I had read that some SSA officers were saying the same as you found, it seems that many officers don't know that because we are here on a K1 and a current I94 we can apply for a SS card, I only took the application, my passport and I94, plus document RM 10211.530 (see the link below) which I didn't need, and was very carful what information I volunteered, the guy never asked if I was married and I 'forgot' to mention it, I was there 20 minutes while he entered the info and he said the card would be with me within four weeks and it arrived in three.

This is where I got my info from:  http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn     You could go back to the SSA with the RM form and see what they say or try another office and hope nothing is in the system,  any VJ's have any idea's?

Yes I'm going to try a different location and see what they say..

For an easy change you should have gone to SSA before getting married. He is no longer a fiancé. And most officers are not familiar with the process unfortunately.

you can try another office and hope someone will give you a different answer (cause it sometimes depends on the officer you got) this resolves the situation in most cases, how many days left on his I-94 by the way?

the worst case scenario you will get it after he has his status/ead.

    check these posts:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/156-social-security-numbers/

we did and the SS never came and they called my husband a week ago and told him to come back because his status changed and when we went there they told us that we need to go to immigration office to have his status changed which was so weird all this happened in Baltimore MD, I'm thinking of trying the office in CT where my parents live.

  10. Hi guys I have a question that one of you can help answer, so we are trying to get Social Security for my Husband he came here on a K1 visa and we went to our local SS office with his passport, I94 and our marriage certificate and they told us that because his status change because we got married it needs to change on the I94 as well and I printed out the I94 and it still says that my fiance came to the US on Fiance Visa and the lady told us that we need to go to the immigration office and have his status changed and then we can apply for his SS! I though a person can hold an SS on fiance visa, is anyone else having the same problem? and you guys please advice me on what to do!

I believe if I call the bank at this frequency they're just gonna cash it themselves 😂

I am just not letting myself call more than once an hour :D

PS_I cried of stress today...seriously this suppose to be the easy part....

so I just checked  my bank account through my mobile app the checks are being processing I'm guessing they were cashed today because they are still processing so I hope I get the letter by tomorrow or Thursday, so don't loose hope 😀 hopefully you will see something soon I would say try calling them tomorrow.

EAD is changes between 4-6 months, AOS depends on the local office but average looks like a year.

Interesting! lol if I knew it was going to take forever I would have applied for spouse visa but thank you so much for being super helpful! your an amazing person, lol I wanted to tell you that before as well but your mailbox was full and my msg didn't go though but tbh I would not have made it this far if it wasn't for you so thank you and I greatly appreciate you trying to do everything to provide some hope to VJ users! ❤️

That's good news. I have no idea about Pak time frame for passport return. Why not contact the embassy and ask or wait? Contacting Embassy won't hurt

I'm having the same problem, my Fiance was told that his visa is approved, and now its been 3 weeks and the case is in AP! i contacted the embassy and they told that its in AP which was no help
