So my interview was yesterday. Online, it says my application was approved but the completion estimate is August 2019. Is this normal!? I hope I get the ceremony date sooooon...
You are saying you just did a walk-in interview? That's unbelievable. I guess other people with similar situation can do walk-in as well.

The details are out there crystal clear that the IO was suspecting the marriage was a fraud. The only way that is helpful to your friend is to find a good attorney, not those lawyers who merely know how to fill out papers. A real good lawyer has the experience to fight USCIS in court. Though that means you have to spend some money it is the only way. Try to find a lawyer from big names. You can google "largest law firms".

Received oath ceremony date after interview on Feb 12th at Federal Plaza. Heard the building closed at 1pm on that day due to snow so feel lucky to have 7:15am interview.
In the interview I presented a very old traffic ticket that fined me $50. The IO was happy I presented the ticket but said she could not approve the case on that day. Basically if you present any ticket/order you must show the ticket/order is dismissed or you paid the fine. In another word they want to see the case/violation is "closed". The next day I received two Emails, "We recommended that your Form N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION, Receipt Number xxxxxx, be approved. " and "We placed you in line for your oath ceremony". The following day (today) I received one Email "We scheduled your oath ceremony".

So I had my interview today as scheduled at the federal plaza, I passed the civics and English tests but I got the N-652 form saying that the decision couldn't be made. The IO was pretty thorough and asked a lot of questions. So I didn't understand why and then she replied that she still needed to review my application after she was done with all the interviews she had today. I'm so sad and frustrated that after more than a year waiting for the interview a decision on my case can't be made...sigh:(
Thanks for sharing. My interview is next week and I am also from Brooklyn. May I know which part of the question she asked during the interview made you uneasy? Please let us know if you case got approved. Good Luck!

I got my interview date March 7 in NYC Federal Plaza (filed online and am from Brooklyn). I missed the email because apparently they have had email problems - got email yesterday saying. I know the letter will actually arrive today as I get USPS delivery notice emails showing me what mail is being delivered and I saw it.
What shocks me is the time. 7:15 AM. I cannot believe the ridiculous time. Anyone else have such an early interview?
Yes, I am from Brooklyn and my appointment time is also 7:15am

When I logged in to my account, I saw the interview letter with October 23rd date. The location of my interview is in the Holtsville office in Long Island. I am a resident of queens and that’s where I did the biometrics on March 8th 2018. My application date is Feb 28th and the N400 based on 5 year employment based green card.
Any thoughts, suggestions and recommendations? This forum is excellent and I have been waiting for my turn to share data and today I have done the sharing. Also, will update as I have more to add.

I think the reason you got transferred is coz Queens/Brooklyn/Manhattan offices, sharing same building, are so much backlogged. So they finally decide to shift the load between Queens and Long Island office.

Thank you. I guess he was not questioning your employment. He was only concerned your had job outside NYC while still filing your case in NYC.

Hi. I also had my interview on Aug 28 at Federal Plaza in the morning so we were probably there at the same time. I also live in Manhattan. I was called for the interview 15 minutes past the required time so was pleasantly surprised as I had heard of a longer wait time. I had my green card via employment so the questions were standard around my application. I had changed my job two months ago so provided a job letter and was asked for proof that I had not moved out of NYC. (The office is not in NYC and I commute weekly for work). I provided a rental letter from the building for the month of August as proof that I was still a resident of NYC. I also submitted my 5 year tax returns.
The quiz questions were as follows:
Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?
Who is the President of the US?
Name 3 of the original 13 US colonies?
Who is the Commander in Chief of the Military?
What are the two political parties of the US?
What is the current political party of the US President?
At the end of the interview I was given the N-652 form with "Congratulations" box checked. I was told verbally as well that I had passed the interview and that the oath ceremony can take up to 120 days. That is much longer than the estimates being provided to others but am hoping that its the outer range and I get scheduled faster than that.
Since the interview there has been no update to the status online. It still says I am scheduled for an interview. Does anyone know the timeline for getting the update and for the oath ceremony?

My appointment was at 9 45. I was called in at 12 :15.
The interviewer was a friendly lady. As soon as I entered, she asked me to raise my right hand and swear to tell the truth. Then I sat down and the interviewer asked me for my passport, ID, and green card. I was told to place my index fingers on a scanner and look at the camera so she could take a picture.

The interviewer told me to sign on a few documents and said "congratulations! You passed. You can either wait here for the invitation to the oath ceremony or you can get it in the mail."
I chose to wait so I can get done with everything.
I left the office at 12:30pm. The whole interview took about 15 minutes.
I waited in the waiting room for a while till my name was called at 1:15. I received the letter starting my oath ceremony will be on the May 23.Congrats and thank you for sharing.

The woman at the desk asked me why I was there earlier than my actual appointment date. I just said I would be away. She asked the woman next to her if that'd be okay, and they let me do it that day. It was a little nerve wrecking but it went smoothly.
