  1. hi @Jaquelly ,

I had the same experience when I was renewing my license. I was not granted immediately to renew because my I-94 had expired last Aug 1. They said they need to validate my lawful status with DHS.  A few weeks later, I got a letter in the mail from MVD Aug 20 and last Aug 28 the system allowed me to proceed with my license renewal. They extended my license until Aug 27, 2019 - I waited for 4 1/2 hours. Certainly worth the wait because I can drive in US even without my EAD and GC yet.

    I hope this helps.

  2. Hello,

Just an update from my end, I had my EAD expedited last Aug 28, 2018 under the grounds of severe financial even in the absence of job offer even without a job offer.

An excerpt from my cover letter:

I believe this request meets the criteria for expedited processing based on severe financial loss. The choice of expressing severe financial loss is based on my potential annual salary at an average of XXXK to ZZZK USD.

My job applications as Senior SAP Consultant are not being considered at recruitment level despite very suitable qualifications. Consideration is not given due to the absence of a work authorization or a green card. Clients, especially multinational companies, require a finalized work authorization to continue processing my application.

I am enclosing evidence of emails from recruiters which demonstrate salary rate and benefits if hired, reasons for termination of the application process (critical areas are highlighted), my resume as proof of qualifications.

It is my desire to become a contributing member of the USA as soon as possible by receiving an expedited I-765.

Hope this helps anyone who wishes to expedite EAD.

  3. Hello everyone,

I would just like to share how I got my Driver's license despite an expired I-94. Each state may have different policies but there is no harm in trying.

I initially applied for a NM Driver's license 35 days before my I-94 expires. I passed and I got a license until my I-94 expired. Hence, I went last Aug 1 to renew my license. However, DMV did not grant renewal at that time. Despite bringing my NOA1 - AOS, marriage contract, billing address and SS ID. They said they need verification from DHS. 3 weeks after, I got a letter from DMV that DHS verified my status and that I can get my license. Last Aug 28, I went there and paid for my license - federal ID compliant with expiration on Aug 27, 2019. I just tried and fortunately got my license. Now I can drive.

Sharing as I know how hard not being able to drive in most places here in US.

God bless and good luck everyone on your AOS journey.

Applied: July 16th - (AOS, EAD & AP)

    E Notice: July 20th

    NOA1 Letter: July 23th

NOA1 Biometrics Appointment Letter: Aug 3

Early Walk-In Biometrics Appointment: Aug 06th ( Scheduled on Aug 17th)

    Expedited EAD - Aug 29, 2018

  4. We initially sent our AOS paperwork to Rapid Visa on July 3 for their review. It took them 5 days to thoroughly review it. Only to find out on the 10th, they require my husband to send stock and dividend certificates and some documents to prove we have no more mortgage in the bank for his properties to supplement I-864. Hence, we sent all these the following day, 11th for an overnight Fedex. I guess this is better than an RFE.

Subsequently, Rapid Visa filed our documents and sent it directly to USCIS Chicago last July 13 and was received with confirmation July 16. Finally, last night about 10:30PM of July 23, I received a notification for I-797 for me and two K2s. Three for each one of us.

Happy to share it is progressing but was a bit disappointed with Rapid Visa on that late feedback as we paid premium review of additional 100 USD the night before we sent they never said those additional docs. We were hoping an earlier NOA1 as my son is turning 19 on Dec 23. Overall, I can't complain much now that it is progressing.

God bless and good luck everyone on your journey.

AOS Sent to Chicago - July 13, 2018

    AOS Filed - July 16, 2018

  5. On 4/17/2018 at 6:46 PM, John & Rose said:

We have a month so we are hoping it will work out. Rose has a connection at NBI who will try to have it to her by Friday. They originally said May 2. We will see. It is just another part of the waiting game but most of the wait is way behind us. We still have CFO peer counseling for the kids after VOH.

    Hi John,

    Congratulations.

I had the same issue as my name ( beneficiary) was misspelled on my son's birth cert. Initially, I went to Robinson's East - April 11 (Interview April 10)and NBI will only be ready for released by April 30. I did not rest, and went to NBI Main instead, 4th floor - Ms Tess. There is a lshort queue but fast. Your fiancee' just need to explain reason for release and mine was approved for release in 8 min - I was prioritized.  Subsequently, I went to the ground floor for printing of my NBI with AKA. Went to the nearest 2toGo in Mabini St.

They were really nice and understanding. I told them I am getting married and my visa can't be release.

    April 10, 2018 - Interview

    April 11, 2018 - NBI Robinson's East

April 13, 2018 - NBI Main and was released, sent to 2toGo

April 16, 2018 - Embassy Received by Manuel Manalysay

April 18, 2018 - sent USEM email and they have updated CEAC still on AP

April 19, 2018 - updated CEAC still on AP ( Immigrant VISA)

April 20, 2018 - updated CEAC - visa "issued ( Non Immigrant VISA)

Hence, we are now waiting on our visa packet to be delivered anytime next week :)

I hope this will help expedite your processing time for 221g Administrative Processing.
