Packet 3 for Montreal is a checklist and ds-160 confirmation.  You will email it. Now that you have NOA2 start calling the NVC for your DOS case number.

Packet 4 for Montreal is them telling you it's okay to book an interview. Do not do it before p4, it will be invalid and cancelled without notice.

I was approved online and haven’t been received letter yet. Do I need to wait on it before I call?

  2. I feel like I should know this! What exactly does NVC received and left mean? What does packet sent and received mean?

We got our NOA2 today and I am so excited but want to make sure I understand all the steps that are coming up. I feel like I’m not prepared or educated in this enough no matter how much I read it!

    omg.. youre so right.

I just scrolled down and saw this too. I guess i just thought we needed to submit it because we had 3 or more. These petitions are really confusing!

Imma try to edit my posts, so nobody gets a wrong idea.

edit: nevermind you can never edit your old posts. weird.

Ok so my fiancé has no criminal record. So we didn’t need to submit a form?

Better to prepare everything that you will  need and yes including your divorced papers and these from you as the petitioner.

    🌸New Letter of Intent(Updated Date)

    🌸Form I-134 Affidavit of Support

    🌸Form 1040 Income Tax Return(Latest)

         (Prepare atleast the last 3years)

    🌸W2 Withholding Tax Statement(Latest)

    🌸Paystub within the last 3months

    🌸Certificate of Employment

    Optional:

    🌸NOA1(Copy)

    🌸NOA2(Copy)

    🌸NVC Letter

As what TNJ17 mentioned above, you can also refer to your Specific embassy for your other needed requirements. Goodluck and my warmest congratulations to you in advance on your approval. ❤️

    Thank you so much!!!

No update on new and old web sites.

We received information that we got RFE from Tier2.

Has the status of your case been updated on web sites / any notification?

how long have you been waiting for RFE after you found out that you got it?

i can’t belive it takes so long :( and when I imagine that we will be waiting for an answer from USCIS for another month or even longer it just kills me 😞.

What is the old and new sites? I haven’t been checking either.

Reading those stories of people just getting "forgotten" really makes me anxious. Like I dont mind the wait at all, but reading about how many people dont get any answer for a very long time and then they ask and nobody can help them... It just feels weird. Like how do you know your case is fine and they just check stuff.

    203 Days now...

I’m feeling the exact same! So nervous about it all.

Not to sound harsh but don’t be upset if you don’t get an approval when you’re expecting it. USCIS is not exactly punctual. Unless you got a text saying you were approved and you’re just waiting for the letter in the mail you might still be waiting a while. With that said, you also may not get anything from the embassy. They’re not exactly rules following people either. Immigration processes are more like do it yourself kind of thing and if you don’t you’re screwed. I suggest checking the guideline on VJ for K1 visa and looking to see what the next general steps are. Then go over to the embassy website for your country and search for K1 visa and you will find a list of all documents and following steps. Every embassy is different so you really have to go by what the website says and you can always check the country specific forums of this website for more specific information as you’re gathering documents.

    Thank you!

Congratulations on your upcoming approval. The checklist that you get from the usembassy.gov website is very clear and to the point. You should start there first, then come back and fill in the gaps with this forum or other websites.

I’m asking because I am the petitioner. I am wanting to know if my fiancé will need original copies of my old marriage license and my original copy of divorce decree when he goes to the interview. I gave both to the Catholic Church for my previous marriage to become annulled. If I am going to need them for sure I need to go ahead and try to get them.

  9. We should receive our NOA2 next week or the next. I am trying to get things together and be prepared. I have been previously married and know that I need my original divorce papers but do I need my original marriage license to my ex? What other documents will I need? I know that they will give me a specific list but I am just wanting to know in general what was required to bring.

canada can take a couple of months for the interview. once you have your noa1, book the interview and medical and all, and see what the timeline is looking like. they can come here once you have the noa2, but again, depending on timeline it might be better financially to wait. coming, having an interview a week or two later, then moving could be a strain depending on their circumstances. if it were close id rather save the money so i can fly up to attend the interview with him.

We already have the NOA1. We can go ahead now and make an appointment for after we get the NOA2?

Apologies friends. Just new in the system hence did not understand how the thread works... very sorry for that

It is ok. This site confused me a bit too but it’s very helpful!

According to the OP's timeline, they filed February. So I'd advise sticking it out.

Definitely going to stick it out. I was just trying to plan things.
