you can apply for SSN as soon as you do POE, all you will need is birthcertificate, i-94 and passport with k-1. you may get a manual verification, but according to USCIS it shouldnt take as long as it has before.
Georgia is close and they do as in Alabama from my understanding. NO SSN required. We got married, got officiant and got marriage certificates in less than 1 day w/o SS#.
Good luck
Thank you, which state did you get married in?

Because I live here I have to throw this out. Fly to Las Vegas, NV and do a drive thru wedding. Complete with photos for around 150 bucks, and It's pretty easy to get married in Vegas. Plus marriage certificate available quickly ( Next Day Usually)
My fiancé is heavily pregnant so flying is not an option unfortunately.

Hello all,
I am near the end of this daunting process and planning on traveling to the states next month after my interview which is in 2 weeks. Me and my fiancé are expecting a baby in late September so this basically put our big wedding plans aside so we agreed to just do something small at a reception so we are legally married and to have a large wedding a few years down the road. Now my problem is this, we will be living in South Carolina and it seems the laws there about marrying foreign nationals are very strict. They need social security number of both participants and of course I will not have this just yet. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or know of a state close to SC where we can marry. Not had much luck with researching online beleive it or not.
Thank you!

@Todd L F can I ask which vaccine? We have our medical next week & have been wondering about the varicella (we've had chickenpox).
P.S. Thanks for the review. I've been stressing over this part.
I beleive it’s mmr2 I need, apparently I’ve only had the first one and there’s 2 shots needed. Just mention you’ve had chickenpox and you’ll be fine.

If you do not receive all needed injections before or during the medical or you were not eligible for a insufficient time waiver:
Make sure you have your DS3025 and bring it stateside.
If getting the vaccination before leaving the UK, bring any proof of receiving it stateside.
If getting the vaccination in the US, keep proof of it.
Marry and AOS. For fulfilling the vaccination portion, you'll need to seek out a US civil surgeon. Try using the thread on VJ that discuss doctors in particular who do not rip you off or those who are familiar with completing the vaccination recertification ONLY. This can be tricky finding one that doesn't want to scam.
You do not need a new medical, blood tests, TB tests, or anything else no matter what a doctor tries to push on you.
Once you've found your civil surgeon, bring your proofs and passport, take the paperwork (I-693), and read the instructions VERY carefully. You are only required to fill out a portion of the paperwork. The civil surgeon will fill out only a portion of their section involving vaccinations to recertify. They will stamp and close it into an envelope which can be sent with the AOS.
Be further advised, if a US civil surgeon ever attempts to force you to have a TB test, having a BCG as a child (not given in the US) can cause a false positive. The CDC has guidelines about such individuals and what a doctor can do to avoid such headaches for the patient. If you ever get yourself into that situation, be prepared to pull out those guidelines for educative purposes.
You could also hold off and send in the AOS paperwork, without this. You may get an RFE of course, and you can choose to send in the vaccine stuff recertified from the US civil surgeon then. Or if you have an interview without an RFE requesting it beforehand, you can bring in the vaccination stuff then.
Thank you !

Overall a pleasant experience, anyone who was worried about this like I was don’t be ! Took around 90mins in total and everyone was very polite. I even saw Wayne Rooney there getting a medical ( famous footaller )
I still need 1 jab from my GP as I couldn’t get it done there as I left my wallet at home by accident and only had cash. Anyone have experience with this? Heard it can be a pain once AOS comes around. Thanks!
-
Everything was fine apart from I was missing 1 jab mmr2, which I couldn’t get there as I left my wallet at home and only had cash on me 😡 anyone have experience with this ? If I get it done at my GP how can I prove it when it comes to AOS

You might be okay then. I think the main issue with having the full records would be how long it would take to go through everything. My summary was 3 pages long and concisely listed my current medication, vaccination record and significant medical history.
Ok guess I’ll just hope for the best. Thanks!

They should allow you to get a print out of medical summary for free from your GP! But if not, I'm sure that you could just take your full medical history. They just want to make sure that nothing major has happened and that if it has, that they can ask you about it.
Good luck on your medical!
It’s just on the email I received from Knightsbridge in the instructions they specifically said medical summary, NOT full medical report’ I just do t k ow what exactly they have given me, if it’s the summary or the full report. 🤔

Hey, so I have my medical tomorrow at Knightsbridge. I thought I was good and ready to go until I read somewhere on this forum about the summary of medical history from my GP. I’m pretty sure I have my full medical history printed and not a summary. What is the difference really? They made me pay 10 pounds for the printout at my local GP.
Just confused about this so if anyone can shed any light that would be great. Thanks

Hey everyone, I have my medical next week in Knightsbridge and will be driving from Kent. Anyone know of and parking facilities nearyby the location ? Thank you !

Anybody here drive to their medical in London? Trying to find somewhere to park online but no luck as of yet!

Ok thank you, I would like to add my interview is in London, so I have heard things work quite different there.

Hi guys, so I have a question regarding the avividat of support evidence. Basically my fiances mother has agreed to be the co sponsor so she will take the full responsibility of supporting me. I’m aware she needs to give evidence of income (tax returns etc) but I’ve just been made aware my fiancé has to also fill out the form too. My question is does my fiancé also have to provide evidence of income with statements from work/bank as she will not be the main sponsor? Thank you!

WIll it even need fixing though? That is what I am wondering. On My initial I-134 petition my fiancé also listed him as my father.

I’m panicking as I listed my step father as my father in my DS160. He is married to my mother and has been since I was a baby so I consider him my dad. Is this goi g to be an issue ? The ds160 did not say biological father but just father. My birth certificate lists my father as not known. Any help greatly appreciated
thanks.

HAS anyone here recently had their medical at Knightsbridge London? I have a few questions regarding documents I need to bring with me. I’ve heard just now I need to bring a printout of my medical summary from my GP and also Vaccination records with original certification. I’m not sure what original certifications even means ? I have a print out from a doctor but that is all.
I was was going to go ahead and book my medical tomorrow so now I’m a bit bummed out as I don’t have these.
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks !

Wow thank you, I was just about to book my medical tomorrow but guess I’ll have to book an appointment with my GP first to get the required documents first.

London never wants to know about "ongoing". Chat logs are a super waste of time.
Time is better spent getting immunizations sorted and the health summary from your GP. Often NHS is slow to provide what is needed before the visa medical.
I was unaware of any health summary needed from the NHS!? Can you please elaborate

No. Not a problem. Their point is don't bring the short form some kids used for school that had no parent name(s) on it.
Thank you !

Hey everyone, On the us embassy (uk) website on required documents it states they need the long version of my birth certificate and must list both parents. Now my mum and dad both live in the states together but only my mother is listed on my birth certificate as they wasn’t together when I was born. Is this likely to be an issue? Btw I’m applying for a K1 Visa but my parents live out there also. Thanks!

Hello all, I’m getting everything ready for my interview in London and am aware we need chat logs, pictures etc. I’m was trying to find our call logs but it appears Facebook messenger only saves the logs for about a week. So we have no record of phone calls. Is this likely to be an issue? Also how many photos will I need to print and take ? I have about 20 will this be enough?
Thank you !

So how long would it take to get SSN as we only have 90 days. Plus want to file for AOS as soon as I get there so I can start working sooner.
I agree this forum is brilliant!
