This makes me feel a lot better... F BROWN signed for ours too.   (Received 1/13)

I'm starting to get the nervous twitch over here.

Can anyone tell me what happens if we don't receive any kind of NOA before the GC expires?  (Ours is 3/1... I feel like we filed relatively late unfortunately).

We filed Jan 15 and also received notification that it was signed by F.Brown - unfortunately, like most people from Jan 2021 we have not heard anything further regarding NOA etc. My GC expires Feb 22 so it is possible that my card expires before the NOA is received. There is not much we can do about this in my opinion. As long as we followed the rules of submitting our petition within the 90 day window, we have done our part and are now waiting on USCIS for next steps.

Hi  Guys!! had our interview on the 10th and we were approved on the spot! Our interview went very nice. The officer asked several questions:

Tell me about how you guys met ? When where and why?

Have you met each other's family? Do our mothers get along?

how many kids do you have? were you married before? and she went into detail on my husbands kid, how old? does he see him? where does he live? does he provide child support? hows hes relationship with the mother?

The no questions on the i-485

She requested proof of relationship: We handed her all bills (Rental agreement, electric and gas, water, trash, sewer, bank account, life, dental, health, vision, car insurance, and car registration. and she reviewed them asked if we had anything else...and we handed her all of our amusement park passes( disney, six flags, universal studios, and seaworld) with that she kind of smiled and brought out the conversation about the parks.

and she hit us with a curb ball and started to talk about my past immigration incidents I had which caught me by surprise and she saw my expression and said" what? your husband doesn't know?" I said yes he does just didn't know that was going to be brought up and she asked my husband if he knew and what were the incidents. My husband responded

After she started to  explained how to remove the condition on the green card and that in 2022 my husband could apply to become a US citizen. and my husband asked " we are approved then?" she said yes and told us to expect the green card within 3 weeks. She also said not to cross the border or travel until he had the green card in he's hand. because EAD/AP are no longer valid because hes status changed.

and on the 16th card was picked up by usps and will be arriving here today according to the tracking :)

Thank you all for traveling this journey with us!! and good luck!! :)

Congratulations on your successful GC interview.

Our interview is on February 22 and I was wondering if you went for another medical exam in the US before the interview? Also, did you do another affidavit of support along with a new letter from employers, pay stubs etc?

I know the USCIS says that if you had a medical done before coming to the US and filed within 1 year then it’s still valid.

Could you please shed some light on that if possible?

Thank you!! We were approved on March 20, so 9 days total from interview to visa in hand (minus one day for DHL to receive it)! That's including a weekend and a public holiday, so 6 business days total but they sent it yesterday. Not too bad, we were very worried since we already had our tickets booked and both Friday and Monday are public holidays. We got lucky! We did not have to pay! I think you only have to pay if DHL is shipping it somewhere. We chose the pickup option when we filled out his DS-160 online :)

At the interview - were you required to present the email that the Joburg Consulate sent you (the packet 3 email instructing you to schedule the appointment etc)? Or did they not ask for that?

I was there for Christmas and our interview wasn't until March, even though we thought it would be when I was there, but nope, no openings.  So I hand delivered mine, but I researched and the only safe option is DHL, but it's pricey, roughly $200 to send your package, at least from Seattle to South Africa.  But DHL is the safest because it has to be signed for all the way through.

We used FedEx from Alabama to Port Elizabeth, South Africa and it was $133. Arrived within 4 days
