Finally naturalized today. Wanted to share my experience at the Moakley Courthouse if this helps others.

The time written on the letter was 12:30 and we showed up around 12:00. It took about 20 minutes to clear through both security (they take your cellphones and water bottles) and to check in with USCIS staff. Then the families and immigrants are separated into two attached but separate rooms (separated only by glass). We sat around waiting for the judge for about an hour until they entered the room at 1:30. After fairly routine and quick proceedings (~20 minutes) the immigrants were released to pick up their certificates.

We have our oath coming up soon too in the Moakley courthouse.  I’m confused because online it says the ceremony is 1:30 but the letter says 12:30.  I’m wondering what time to have family and friends show up?

How did you find out? Did you check your online account and noticed the status change? Or did you receive something via U.S. mail?

Are you set up for text updates on your case? Did you receive a text update?

I got a text alert and then checked the website, which had the interview scheduled letter under documents. I have not gotten it in the mail yet

  3. On Jan 18 2024 my case status changed. It still says  "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS" but with a date of Jan 18 2024.  Previously since June 2022 it said the same, just with the June date.

The estimated time also changed too. It now says "Estimated time* until case decision: approx. 7 months" Previously said that it was taking longer than expected.

Did this happen to anyone else?

Case was updated to the same status of "Active review" yesterday. Unsure if that means an interview will actually shake out or if that's the result of filing a case inquiry. We will see.

The same thing happened to me! On Jan 18 2024 it now states "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS." Previously since June 2022 it said the same, just with a different date. The estimated time also changed too. It now says "Estimated time* until case decision: approx. 7 months" Previously said that it was taking longer than expected.

Many folks who filed in 2020, 2021 and maybe 2022 were subject to this

what moved their cases was filling a FOIA including the wife of a friend. There may be some old posts going around about unlocking their case with a FOIA request. Can only help.  Good luck.

Thank you for this info! When I looked into FOIA request, I came across this related to USCIS: https://www.foia.gov/agency-search.html?id=da7c02bc-3ae8-4a09-ad94-48fdbb2bcc6f&type=component

I already filed 2 online service requests due to the case being outside of normal processing times, but still nothing.

Have you tried submit congressional inquiry? Service request and ombudsman? I can't prove it that it helped, but it didn't hurt either. Forces them to look up the case.

That's going to be my next step! I have to travel out of the country in April.... so I will do this after that if I still hear nothing.

  6. Hi all! I have been waiting for an interview for my N-400 since filing June 6, 2022. I have a question for you all on how you use the online tool "Your uploads." I have uploaded 144 documents at this time, and they include all the things required like American birth certificate of my wife, copies of green card, tax returns from all the years, proof of commingled finances (bills from every month, lots of joint bank account statements, etc) and proof of relationship (boarding passes from trips we've taken together). Does everyone upload tons of documents, or are people just uploading the things strictly asked for?

Once the interview time comes, I do not need to bring hard copies of these documents since they are already provided (other than passports, green card, etc), is that correct? I'm just trying to get a feel as to how others are using the website.

    Thank you!

Thank you and sorry to hear about your case. I contacted the congressman to help me with my ROC that was still stuck in the biometric reused status and I had to do it because I already did my n400 interview. My IO was not able to approve me on the spot because my ROC case was not yet transferred to his jurisdiction and my ROC was already pass the processing time. My ROC was under LIN and I filed on April 28, 2021. I called the congressman just to talk to a real person after being answered by an AI when I tried to call LIN about the inquiry I submitted. Your case is different from mine. You are still lucky you got ROC approved without interview. Congratulations for getting your ROC approved. I think you will have to just wait patiently for your N400. Once it’s pass the processing times and it still not moving, then you can submit inquiry or call your congressman.

Thanks for the info :) Congrats on the oath soon!
