The way I hear it is they are understaffed. I called NVC and that's exactly what they say at the beginning of the message is that NVC is understaffed. I know the consulate in Mexico is still operating not sure how slowly due to covid. You must check whatever consulate you are going to have your interview at. Those are my suggestions.

My wife and I are still awaiting our approval (our PD was Oct 2nd, 2019) but didn't even know if the consulate was taking interviews at this time. We were under the impression they were still shutdown during covid?

How long it takes for NVC to look at a document if you re upload it after being rejected?

Case closed October 2, 2018 but I don't think I will get interview for December like everyone else. 😥 The embassy was closed for several months and they just reopened in September, so there must be a waiting list.

The only positive thing that will come out of them taking forever to assign interviews is that you will probably end up with an IR1 visa (10 years) instead of the CR1 (2 years).  This embassy is causing USCIS to lose money.  Instead of being able to charge visa applicants twice CR1 and IR1 they will only be able to charge once for IR1.  It is to their benefit to speed these interviews up.

Looks like your 2 year anniversary is in April so if you get an interview in February or March I would recommend waiting until the day after your 2nd anniversary to cross the POE so you can get an IR1.

That surely gives some hope... CC 10/22 but was told to wait for scheduling for December as they are done for November.  Hopefully I hear something soon for November too.

Cool! Just got my interview date today  It's on Nov, 6th. I was looking at your timeline - did it really take a year to approve your I-130? Why?

I was finally approved for an immigrant interview on August 31, it took almost five months to schedule after NVC approval and the interview is in two months from now on October 23.

I called NVC today, we were approved April 10, it's been four months, Juarez apparently is taking up to six months to schedule appointments now, just be patient.

unfortunately the wait is currently at 5 to 7 months  (it took me 5 and a half months but my CC was in March, I noticed that it got increasingly slower after that)  I've seen people wait up to 7 months
priority date is only relevant for LPRs and not citizens, and I noticed that those of us that waited in Mexico had to wait longer...
