  1. Hi, so my cousin is actually in the same boat. Her husband ( US resident) received their NOA1 on December 18th, 2017 and they have not heard anything since. Apparently USCIS can only speak to the petitioner because she called today and after waiting on the phone for over 30 min was told they couldn't give her any information they just said it can take up to 25 months for them to hear back.

Is the timeline different for a US determinant Resident submitting an I-130 for his spouse? This is the first time i hear that it cn take up to 25 months.

    Hi everyone,

Please, to answer this question on the DS 160, its mean after o before the medical exam: Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law?

You can answer truthfully and say no and then it will ask you to explain, there you can write that all necessary vaccinations will be done at the medical exam before the interview.

Thanks so much!! That helps alot! We are in queue waiting for an appointment now. I can't believe it's finally about to be here. However, due to work I am unable to go with him. I have heard of a lot of people still getting approved though.

How long after you got your letter about being queue did you get the interview date?

We got Case Complete monday, July 16th, got the email the following Monday, July 23rd and that Thursday, July 26th we got out interview.

Just a heads up, in DR specifically they do encourage both of you to attend the interview. I know of a case where the husband went to the interview by himself and they asked him why his wife wasn't able to attend, he said it was because of work and they asked him if they would be able to call her. When they called her she did not pick up and they told him that they will re schedule the interview for a date when his wife IS able to attend.

  4. @C&AH  like @hf2018 said there are only 2 options for the medical exam, they each have their prices on their website so you can see what the minimum is and what the max is for pricing. They both also state the forms of payments they accept. My husband went with american dollars as it was easiest and I think the office he went to only accepted dollars and he paid on site after the exam.

There is NO charge for the fingerprints.

  5. Hi @amaria29

My husbans Visa was issued 3 days after our interview, however we didn't get it until 8 days later because we had them ship it to his town which took a little longer. To start working you don't need the card but you WILL need a SSN.  We had our interview September 4th!

    Questions towards my husband--

    1. When and How did we meet?

    2. Asked my husband to talk about my life in the US.

    3. How did he propose?

    4. If we knew each others families?

    5. Asked my husband where I worked and what I did there.

    6. Asked my husband where I went to University and what I studied there.

    Questions towards me--

    1. If we got married quickly.

    2. If I visited him often.

  6. @Abies  thank you! I just flew back this morning because of my job and my husband is still waiting for his passport hopefully he gets it this week so he can fly out this coming weekend.

@valentinasc  Thank you! And yes the woman randomly asked if we got married quickly. I honestly asnwered that yes because I wanted to get married and have most of my family there and that was the time where most of my family could attend so we rushed it a little bit.

We are at the NVC stage and, of course, we are preparing our documents for the next step. Here are my questions (Dominican Republic)

    1. Does a police clearance need to be translated in English for NVC?

    2. When should we obtain the document in order to have things ready for NVC? (Case was sent from USCIS on July 11)

We want to be diligent and be ready so as to not create any delays.

    Hi!

    1. Yes, you will need to send the English translation when you send it to NVC.

    2. I would get the police clearance certificate AFTER you have your Invoice and case numbers. My husband was able to get the certificate and email it to me all in the same day.

Hey guys, I just spoke to NVC wondering if any interviews for August were still being scheduled (long shot), but of course they told me no more interviews will be scheduled for August and the soonest I could get an interview was September if any slots are still open for that month.

Also he mentioned that that was the case for every embassy, not just mine. Not sure how he looked it up or if he even did. I'm kinda confused.

I called last night and asked them is they were still scheduling August interviews and the lady over the phone said the same thing. She said that regardless of embassy they aren't scheduling anymore August interviews.
