    Hello K1 Jordan Members 🇯🇴

I thought I would start a thread specifically for K1 members for Jordan Embassy as my private chat group can not exceed a certain number of members. This is specifically for K1 as we can not answer questions pertaining to CR1. We are all here to help one another on processing and questions as best we can for I129F,  NVAC, CEAC and Embassy all way through to interview and sharing results/questions after interviews. We are neither lawyers or professionals and don't claim to be so. So many of us are already at interview stage and have already received help from lawyers, visa servicers, etc so we can help best we cans so feel free to join. Wishing us all the best of luck in our journeys!

Ours was submitted August 17, 2018 and we just got approval on August 21,2019. Seems like they are getting through August filers now so hopefully you’ll hear any day. (We were at Nebraska!)

    Hi Lin,

I'm from California and still waiting for a K1 (fiance) visa. My fiance's visa interview was on August 19, 2018 in Jordan Amman, My fiance is a Syrian National.   Yet we do not have good news like yourself.  Do you mind sharing some of your experience with me?  particularly some of what you did to help your case? which embassy was your visa interview, was your visa affected by the presidential proclamation (AKA travel ban)?

How will writing a letter do anything at all? This is about the rule of law which the President has the sole authority in regards to immigration. You should be more concerned about the immigration law that is coming up to vote this week which will end chain migration. Your fiancé should not be affected by the ban at all.

Cyberfx, you make since to me, I understand your logic. But, if the presidential proclamation states "No non emigrant, No emigrant visas from Syria" does't that mean including fiance visa?

So the travel ban case was heard before the Supreme Court on April 25, 2018. The final verdict comes out June 30, 2018.

The ban is for all immigrants and non-immigrant visas coming from those countries under the travel ban with a few exceptions for some countries. For example, Iran still can have a visa is issued for non-immigrant classes F, M, And J Which are for students and exchange visitors.

The best thing to do right now would be to write a letter to Supreme Court Justice Kennedy and Roberts  explaining exactly how the travel ban is affecting you and your family.  If either of these two justices decided To vote against this ban it will be overturned.  These two justices carry the swing vote.

According to the department of state I did not see any fiancée visa is being issued for the last 3 to 4 months since the last travel ban was upheld by the Supreme Court on December 8, 2017.

Please write a letter immediately to Justice Kennedy and Justice Roberts encouraging them to counter act the travel ban.. According to the State Department website people are already being interviewed for waivers and 400+ have been issued.  Many people are being denied waivers, including some terminally ill  children and grandparents. This travel ban is not about terrorism! 400+ waivers is not that many when you consider the thousands and thousands who have applied and spent time and money and energy on this already very long process

Is it still good to write to Justice Robert? or is it little too late by now?

  5. Well, this is a cheesy question, but whats the hick.

I have scheduled a meeting with an emigration lawyer tomorrow.  In order to get the best out of it I need to walk in prepared with written list of questions.  Any help here with what is important to ask?

my main discussion will be around the travel ban and ways around it.  I will talk about what CNN wrote/said (https://www.cnn.com/2017/09/24/politics/trump-travel-restrictions/index.html)

"Individuals with that "bona fide" exception -- such as a foreign grandparent of a US citizen -- can still apply for visas until October 18. After that date, the new restrictions on travel will begin. "

My I129f application was received and accepted on October 16th, does that mean I will be OK?

Nonetheless, I am asking for help in list of important question to ask, should one or two skip my mind.

    Thanks

Very , very rare as evidenced by this part of the article I linked above.

" Please note that although waivers are technically available, the waiver process is extremely stringent and non-transparent.  In the first month of the implementation of Travel Ban 3.0 from December 8, 2017 to January 8, 2018, only 2 waivers were granted out of 8,406 visa applications. "

    missileman,

Thank you, this article is clear but very sad for me.  What should a law abiding, tax paying citizen do to live his/her life the right way?!!

Based on this article and other information, even if I get married to my fiance, she would still not get a visa.  right?

  7. Hello,

My fiance is a Syrian national and she is included in the travel ban, Presidential Proclamation 9645.  The Supreme Court allowed/approved this Order to go into effect on December 6, 2017, it has been 90 days since then. My understanding that the Court approved the Order for 90 days.  Is this ban still in effect? is it still active? or has it been renewed by the president? Or does the ban keep on until a court deem it invalid, and then the ban get stopped?

I searched, Googled, and did what I could to find any information, but without any luck. any one knows?

PS: our I129f application is still at the USCIS review stage, did not yet go to Homeland Security, or the visa issuing agency;  But shortly it should.

    1. Yes
    2. AFAIK, no....they will still process cases, but cannot issue visas unless the CO determines that a waiver for the ban is appropriate.
    3. Whatever deity you believe in (if any). Nobody else can know what the courts will decide or when they will do it.

    The question that begs,

What if my application was processed and approved, but no visa due to the travel ban.  Would my case be awaiting until the ban is removed, expired and not renewed; or set on the shelf and expires and when, in future, the ban is removed I will need to re-apply?

    Thanks

  9. Hello,

I did not want to start a new thread because my question is similar to this line.

I submitted an I129F application on October 13, 2017. It was received on the 16th, and I got my confirmation letter stating that my application is accepted and being transferred to California Service Center (CSC).

My fiance is from Syria, and she still lives there.  On December 4, 2017, the Supreme Court approved Trump's travel ban. my questions are:

1- Does the ban effect K1 visas? If so,

2- Is my application on halt and not being processed due to the ban?

3- Does any one know if this travel ban is going to continue?

Thanks in advance to all your insights and information.
