NVC is probably one of the least affected parts of the State Department since it is funded via fees. That screen shot is saying operations for visas WILL continue and NOT stop. The website will not be updated during the lapse since website maintenance is not a) funded by visa fees and b) an essential service during the shutdown.

Actually, it says that visa services in the US and overseas will continue during the lapse AS SITUATION PERMITS.

Yes, they're open but not fully functioning which may lead to delays. My case is currently at NVC and was set to case complete in early December, yet I still haven't received our consular interview date in over a month which is way longer than usual for my husband's country.

It took 3 weeks ... that was the longest time ever! And now isince the interview have been in administrative processing

It's been 1 month and 3 days since our case was set to case complete. This wait is killing me.

How long ago was your interview? Were you approved at the interview? Sorry for all the questions, we foresee being denied at our interview since my husband lived illegally in the US for 8 years, then we'll have to file for a waiver of inadmissibility, wait until that is approved which takes about 12-16 months, then have a second consular interview. It's a long path.

    Hi!

my case was complete oct 11 of this year and I was looking to speak with other people going through nvc and case complete to interview for Rio. Currently I’m waiting for that .

Hi, I know it's been a few months since you posted this, but I was wondering how long it took for you to receive the letter with your interview date and when was your interview.

My case complete date is Dec/06/18 and still haven't received the letter with the interview date.

    Thanks!

    For i864

my husband has not file his tax yet since he moved to the states just about an year ago..

FYI, I am the petitioner for my husband as well as his financial sponsor and I didn't file income taxes this past tax season and was accepted by NVC anyway. I was unemployed last year and only started working in March 2018. I sent them my taxes from 2015, 2016 and the IRS transcript stating that I had not filed for 2017 and explained that I had no income therefore did not file taxes. Along with that I also send proof that I am now currently employed with income above the poverty line for my family size and all my pay stubs for this year.

Please keep me posted when you receive your interview date and which day it is, I'm also Brazilian :)

Just started NVC process, but I like statistics haha

Yeah, I'll let you know. I'm also big into statistics as it helps me estimate how my own case will progress.

From other cases that I'm following, I'm assuming my husband's interview will be some time around January 25th.

In Brazil, it seems that interviews are usually 7-8 weeks after NVC case complete date, but we're not too excited about it because we know he's going to be denied the visa at this interview. We already know he's inadmissible and will need to file a waiver I-601 and I-212 which take approx. 11-12 months to be approved. It's a long road ahead for us. What sucks is that the waiver can't be filed until he's actually denied at the interview, wish we could've filed it earlier.

If you don't mind me asking, why the long delay/wait between the time you paid your aos fees i.e. May 1st and when you filled your ds260 and submitted the documents? Was the delay from your end or nvc? Just curious

The delay was on my end. I didn’t have a financial co-sponsor and at the time I didn’t have proof of sufficient income until just recently.

We finally got our Case Complete at NVC this evening via email!  yay!!!

    NVC received October 2nd, 2018

    Case # on October 26th, 2018

    Fees Paid October 31st, 2018
We submitted everything on November 8th, 2018

They asked for a new scanned copy of the police certificate on November 14th, 2018.

New certificate was uploaded same day! November 14th, 2018

Case Complete via email on November 27th, 2018.

    Congratulations!! Almost there.

Just out of curiosity, what does the NVC portal look like when it's completed?

Ours looks like this, which leads me to believe that it's complete even though I had to re-submit a document last week.

I'm not sure what we're waiting for now.

Hey there! Congrats on the other documents being accepted!!

We also had this. They did not accept our police certificate and we had to upload a new one.

    Timeline:

    11/8/18 - everything was submitted

11/14/18 - email to send new police certificate

    11/14/18 - resubmitted that night

    and still waiting.

Hoping for a fast approval for you!!

Thanks! Yeah, I also re-submitted the new police certificate immediately after getting their email. It was such a dumb rookie mistake on my part. When I saved the police certificate as PDF, somehow the top portion got cut off and my husband's name wasn't on the certificate, and I didn't even notice it because I did it in a rush. Oh well! I'll pay more attention in the future

Hope you get your approval soon as well.
