Hi Norway you had a checklist and re submission right?

Yes but it wasn't supposed to be a checklist as they rejected two papers because they said it didn't have an English translation but it did, so it just got forwarded to a supervisor to fix.

CONGRATS........ I'M WAITING ON MY CASE.. YOU JUST GOT NOTIFIED?

Yes I did! Good luck to you:energy:

Did you call them? That's how I got the supervisor review, the operator herself didn't understand why it was rejected and said she'd send it to a supervisor to re-examine it.

Yes same with us! They didn't know why it got rejected so they sent it to a supervisor. Seeing how fast it went for you gives me hope we will hear back soon! I was dreading another 3 weeks.

Norway, I have no idea, really. I know from the military spouse community, that international birth certificates were accepted until recently. However, another petitioner got a checklist for sending that same international birth certificate while another did not. Upon calling the NVC, I was told that they need the birth certificate in German only. And someone else in this forum got the message that it really boils down to whom they have sitting in front of your application. It apparently varies from one case to another.

Gosh that really stinks. So maybe that's the problem with mine as well? Since I guess you could consider it international because of all the languages? However that wouldn't explain why they would then want a certified translation of the native language one.. So you are just submitting a new one in only German? Or with a certified translation? This whole process is so confusing.

I am so sorry to hear that! There is no rhyme or reason. Same with the international birth certificate issues. We are currently waiting for our second checklist.

Norway, one more thing: If you handed in the original document in your native language - I thought you don't need a certified translation?

Oh no! Did they make you get a whole new one? What is wrong with your international one?

I guess I don't even know! I just got the certificates in a multilingual format from the government just to be on the safe side; it's in Norwegian, French, German, and English on one paper and it's signed and everything from a government official so I don't know why it wouldn't be ok.

Norway, I am so sorry. Do you mind letting us know the exact wording?

    Thank you. It said:

"This document does not have a certified English translation. Please replace this document with a certified English translation and the original language document."

My husband called NVC and they said that it should've been approved but they can't do anything about it now so they sent the case to a supervisor. They said they had no idea when they would be able to look at it :(

Sigh .... got a checklist after waiting 20 days for what, the police clearance when I scanned it was vertical they wanted it to be horizontal, seriously fam they could of just pressed the rotate button and when I submit in the interview it will be the original. There job is to check if its there or not , the orientation of the upload shouldn't matter.  Anyways, I called and they said I'm gonna have to wait the same as how long I waited first time here we go again, I hope none of you face this inconvenience.

I feel you.. I just got check-listed for not having the birth certificate and marriage certificate in English but the document is multilingual in both the native language and English. I feel like they don't even look at the documents sometimes.

Seems like a lot of people are sad that my case got CC this quick. I shared it with the group, so we all understand that NVC can be unpredictable. I didn't expect anything this fast. Happy to be lucky on this one, but I will hold my future updates, as it apparently upsets a lot of people, all rightfully frustrated about their cases.

I'm sorry if I said anything to upset you or anyone else. I truly am happy for you that you are getting out of this  that is NVC! This process just makes me go crazy and I just want it to be done:blink:

    Hi, need some help guys,

28th March case sent to nvc.

rang about 6 weeks later to see what was happening, they said they received 5th April, can take up to 8 weeks so ring back then.

rang at the 8 week point, he said oh yeah should have been done. I’ll put it to the top of the supervisors pile...

rang back today as still heard nothing and she said they received it 4th June and can take up to 8 weeks!!!!

This is becoming beyond a joke now. What can we do?

What country is your embassy in? It might've just switched from non pivot to pivot :( If so you might have to wait a while longer. Did they ask for DOB?

Norway, although I can not know but I have a feeling that cases at NVC are being processed by country-based case workers. It seems to me that each country has its "own" speed of processing. I may be totally wrong, though. But it would explain the differences.

Yes maybe you're on to something here. However most cases here go in chronological order so I feel like if this was the case we would see a lot more differences. But maybe since they're still in the starting phases of pivot processing they're changing how things work. Who knows with NVC:bonk:

I hear you man. NVC is a strange thing.

I just feel like I've gotten super unlucky during this whole process.. First I got sent to Nebraska and that took a life and a half and they didn't get me in the system so I could never check my status online, then I got sent to NVC and waited for 9 weeks for a case number because my embassy just switched over to this "really great system that makes things go way faster"... and I'm still waiting. Going on 11 months. And I've done everything right and submitted things right away. This was not supposed to take this long! I've already missed two friends getting married in the US and I'm supposed to be the maid of honor to my best friend at the end of July and that is looking less and less like it's going to happen because of this awful process.

Sorry just had to get out some frustration:ranting:

I meticulously prepared everything while I was waiting for NVC. Scanned docs exactly as they suggested. Got the exact docs they requested. Tax transcripts, etc. Yes, I do feel lucky, but a lot of work went into making sure I don't screw up anything and I don't get a checklist.

Wow. I mean I'm happy for you but I'm also a little upset. I was also very careful uploading my documents and had everything scanned and ready before and I've been waiting 3 weeks tomorrow:(

Non pivot case means I’ll have to deal with mailing documents back and forth yeah?

Yup. But one good thing is they are moving a lot faster than pivot cases so count yourself lucky!

Hi all. I uploaded my documents on may 20th then i got a notice regarding only 2 invalid documents due to page clearness/ upright position on may 23rd. I reuploaded on may 24th and no reply till now. It is still showing “ submitted” for those 2 documents. Is this normal? Should we wait? Pivot case. Thanks

Yes completely normal; it'll say that until you get a cc. All we can do is wait :pop:

My case is still showing:  "Action required: Submit requested documents" even if I already submitted everything a week ago.

do you get the same and what is next ?

    Thanks.

Yeah I was startled when I first saw that too thinking I had messed something up, but it's just what it says until you get a cc! I remember you said you uploaded the last papers 5/30 so you're 8 days behind me in the process so you probably still have a little while to wait for cc as I just saw people with upload date the 15th and 17th get cc. I would say maybe 2+ weeks for you at the pace that it's been going right now.

  14. 11 minutes ago, Mike&Ella said:

Hopefully it is!😊And what about additional documents we resubmitted? Do I need to take them to tge interview? And we still have to wait for an email from NVC about case completed?

No idea as I'm still waiting for my cc! I would just call and ask them, but from what I've read others say I would assume you need to bring them to your interview and you should be automatically put in line for an interview and they should contact you when you get one. But again I would just call to confirm;) I'm happy for you!
