How can he live in NY on such a low income never mind covering all those additional costs?
In some recent years due to online cab services like uber, taxi cab service is greatly going down.
Secondly he works in new york and lives in new jersey.

Yeah we have a joint sponser,my husband brother.

So guys i am new here need your advice!
My husband is u.s citizen applied for me on 10 oct IR 1.
My case was approved from uscis and received in NVC on 19 June.
He is a taxi cab driver in u.s.
His annual income on his 2017 tax papers is $ 14,000. and $12,000 on 2016.

Actually marraige evidences and other documents like these are not needed at uscis stage.
They are needed later at NVC stage.
At least you got NOA1

The NOA1 for my wife in the Philippines was sent 10/18/17. My lawyer told me that I should expect to hear about the NOA2 in December or January. Ha! I came here to check how others are doing, since I was getting worried... When I look just look at the timeline of others, I am seeing people from 6/2017 or 7/2017 at the filing center in Texas getting their NOA2 now. So my lawyer was way off
Have not heard anything at this point.
Hey DocZ
Most of the lawyers just satisfy their clients by giving their own approximate times but they are not true at all.
My own lawyer told me to wait 2 3 months and they have already passed.
My P.D 10 oct TSC
You should be positive and i have seen august filers approval have been started so oct filers should be expecting approvals in late april and start of may.

Hi VJ folk!
We just received our NOA 2 from the Texas Service center for our Ir-1/Cr-1 spousal. We petitioned on Aug 14, 2017 (NOA 1) and the notice date was Feb 14, 2018 (NOA 2). We though this would be a 9 month process as of the most recent processing times on the TSC time table. But it seems to be that the process sped up to 6 months?!
All the best to you all on your journeys!
Congrats very fast approvaL!

Hello All,
I am trying to figure out what supporting documents I need to submit for the AOS and IV packages to NVC. I read the threads and I still have a few questions. This is what I have so far:
AOS Package:
- AOS bar-coded cover sheet
- Form I-864EZ (signed and dated)
- 2016 Tax Transcript
- 2015 Tax Transcript
- 2014 Tax Transcript
- Letter of Employment
- 2016 W2
- 2015 Correct W2
- 2014 W2
- Paystubs Feb 2018
- Paystubs Jan 2018
- Paystubs Dec 2017
I know it is little overkill with the financial documents but I rather have them all than get a check list.
IV Package:
- IV bar-coded cover sheet
- Two (2) passport-size photographs of beneficiary (case number, beneficiary’s full name, and date of birth are written on back of both)
- Photocopy of the biographic data page of beneficiary’s passport
- Photocopy of the Thai birth certificate
- Photocopy of the English translation of the Thai birth certificate
As the child is 4 years old the following documents are N/A for him: Police records, Marriage Certificate (of course he has never been married), Court and Prison Records (he was never arrested), Military Records, Adoption documents (he is only my step child at this point).
Do I need to submit a copy of my marriage certificate showing that I am married to his mother? If yes, does this go with the AOS or IV package.
Do I need to submit a copy of my US passport? If yes, does this go with the AOS or IV package.
Proof of domicile is only needed if you do not live in the US, correct?
Also, the child had a name change do I need to submit the documents showing this name change (the Thai version as well as the English translation)?
If I have missed anything I would appreciate it if you could point it out.
Thank you.
Regards
Jonny
Petitioner passport copy and your marraige certificate should be added.

If there's any chance of getting visitor while you are waiting on NVC part of your CR1 ?
We're going through extreme hardship and need to be together asap! :((
I'm the petitioner and my father is sick with serious health issues and need assistance to do basic things.
And I'm raising my daughter all alone.
I used to travel and see my husband every two months but since my father's health got worst I'm not able to travel to see my husband. I just want my husband to be allowed to travel.
We just to be together, idk why govt has to be so cruel....:(
Sad to hear that
Be positive and you can request expedite request to NVC on basis of health problems or any serious problem.
Secondly many try for visitor visa during this process but there is very less percentage in which visitor visa was issued with NOA 2.
They often ask you to wait for your CR1-IR1 to get completed at embassy.

Hi,
Once the case moved from USCIS to NVC, then it took almost 3 weeks for NVC to add our USCIS case to their system. After 3 more weeks of this, we get an email from NVC with the assigned case number... so this is first email from them.
The email given to USCIS was used...we didn't gave the NVC any email address over phone
Oh thats good.
But i have seen people getting their case numbers by calling NVC and giving them their email adresses for furthur contact.
As my lawyer had not attached g125 form of notification by email with i130 petition upon applying.

Hello Everyone,
I got a call from Islamabad embassy yesterday inquiring about the contact numbers I use and my email address and places I have worked.
the officer was a Paki guy and was talking in Urdu and was very strict in Tone.
this is the first call I have received from the embassy after my interview, my interview was on 1st June 2016.
Does this means they are about to speed up my case or is it just a normal process for the Visa Admin Processing's?
I read most of the people have been visited by the field agents who were inquiring about them.
BTW, my visa case is I-730, follow to join case.
Everyone please kindly share your views
Thats really painfull a long time for embassy procedure.
There is a good thing that they are now working on your case.
Btw islamabad embassy is unpredictible they often waste time on investigations even when it is not needed.
Good Luck

Good morning everyone I went to check my husband's case status last night and to my surprise I found we were approved! After 8 months we are finally finished with the Nebraska part I can't even begin to explain how happy I am but I know this is just the beginning of a long road we made mistakes in our petition but we were still approved. Our translation of our marriage certificate did not have the translator statement or signature and we did not send in our marriage certificate in Urdu. I can't believe we are approved but I am happy I'm thinking we should get these documents ready for National visa center that we missed on the petition Nebraska is saving us Time by approving us and not giving us a request for evidence so I'm thankful for that but I'm nervous about the next steps any advice on the next step or feedback as to why we got approved so easily would be helpful thanks everyone and stay positive approvals are coming
Congrats on your approvaL.
If you are from Pakistan, you should got a registered computerized NADRA marraige certificate together with your orginal urdu one and its english translation for NVC.
If not from there than you should get your orginal urdu one and its english official translation
This will help you with your NVC process

Of course the "Bi-partisan bill" was nothing more but an amnesty for Dreamers other people here Illegally, with no money going to border security or a border wall. So that was a no go out the door anyway because it would have never passed the House.
The Dems want nothing more than to have an open border for Illegals to pour in in order to help boast their voting numbers. You can bet that the President's plan will pass this year.
Agree with you on bi_partisan bill
But i dont think president will be able to pass any plan without dems support.

I want to make a single topic on this thing so i put out all detail here.

I go my DV visa approved. I am required to travel to the states and apply for the GC.
What I want to know it is;
1) Can I apply for the GC and return in a week or two?
2) Do I need to stay in the US until I get the GC?
3) Can I apply for jobs without a GC with just the visa as of now?
Congrats and everything is well described in first answer by @Dee elle

So guys finally a time for peace for all people sponsering for their family members and were tired of fake news circulating daily about the implementation of trump proposed imigration biLL.
Its somehow a bad news for DACA 1.8 milliom young adults future but family migration cant be exchanged ever with DACA!
There were two bill seen by u.s senators, one was $25B for mexican wall and lottery visa elimination .
And on other hand there was a harsh one bill which include $25B for wall, elimination of lottery visa and family visa expect spouse and under 18 child of USC.
Both were rejected with a great margin!!!
I dont think these laws will ever be implemented ,as there are still many good guys in u.s senate who care about family migration.
Hope this heLps!!!
Good LuCk.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate rejected a series of bills to protect “Dreamer” immigrants on Thursday, leaving in limbo the future of 1.8 million young adults brought to the United States illegally as children.
The Senate failed to get the 60 votes needed to move forward on four separate proposals, including one backed by President Donald Trump and a separate bipartisan bill that had been the most likely to win approval in the deeply divided Senate.
Trump helped defeat the bipartisan bill, which went down in a 54-45 vote, by labeling it just hours earlier as “a total catastrophe.”

WASHINGTON — The US Senate failed to advance a bipartisan bill to expand border security and protect Dreamers, following dire warnings from the White House that the bill would be “dangerous.”
The legislation — authored by Sens. Mike Rounds (R-South Dakota) and Angus King (I-Maine) — failed Thursday afternoon by a vote of 54-45. Sixty votes were needed for passage.
The bill was seen as the best attempt to offer 1.8 million young immigrants a pathway to citizenship and provide $25 billion for a border wall system. But it didn’t include an end to family migration and the visa lottery system that President Trump wanted.
https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10157434445732293&id=6250307292
Senators rejected a watered-down bipartisan plan by Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Christopher A. Coons (D-Del.) to grant legal status to dreamers and provide billions of dollars to boost border security — but not immediately as Trump requested. The plan failed 52 to 47, short of the 60 votes needed.
Senators also rejected a bill by Sen. Patrick J. Toomey (R-Pa.) to punish “sanctuary” municipalities that refuse to help enforce immigration laws. That bill failed 54 to 45.
