Omg!! Looks like some people get ref for this reason and some not! I don’t understand! I only can assume it’s up to the person who is reviewing the process.
......
i was about to ask if someone who had the medical exam before coming if you guys did the form i-693 also or just the vaccines worksheet the doctor overseas gives? And for the interview, for those who had already? How these medical exams work? I had my medical exams overseas.
It must be the person it's going to so annoying!
I came on a k1 so I just sent in all that the doctor who did my exam provided for me and for extra assurance my own records of vaccines.

Just an FYI not sure if this is happening to anyone else but I finally got an RFIE on May 29th - it was for 2018 taxes as when we filed in January tax season hadn't happened yet so of course we couldn't have sent in 2018's! We'll be sending it in right away but just figured I'd let folks know in case this becomes a common theme! Annoying but at least its only tax info!
My husband and I live in Phoenix!

Hi all just an update for anyone looking.
I had my interview yesterday at the Montreal Consulate and got approved it went into administrative processing the same day and changed to ISSUED today.
I then received an email from the consulate with my courier tracking number and should be to me in 5 business days.
Thanks for all the help!

OP posted in a country specific forum.
OP generally speaking k1 visas take 1-8 weeks after approval at interview to be issued Unlike IR1/CR1 there is no background check until after interview since your case does not go to the NVC very long. Rarely does a K1 get returned before 1 week but it happens occasionally.
Thanks yeah i expect as much i guess you just have to wait and see what happens theres no predicting it!

Hi all,
I've got my interview in a week and a bit (Superr nervous) and I was wondering how long before you get your visa in hand if approved?
I do realize every case can be so very different but I was just curious if there was an average for standard basic cases.
Just trying to think ahead for planning and what not I know most people don't recommend booking anything until you've got your visa in hand but its so hard to plan and quit jobs even!
Just curious to hear any experiences from others about how quickly they got their visa's after approval!
Thanks!

So for the I-134 support form packet 3 just states supporting documents. Now that is very vague I've heard many different things of what to have. I've got my fiances last 3 years worth of W2s, IRS returns banking documents from the past year and average balance information. We've also got pay stubs from his employer as well. I've read somewhere you need a job letter too which is stressing me out because we are close and we would have to rush to get it. Is it mandatory or does the evidence I have work? Packet 3 really doesn't specify what is needed.
Also the I-134 question 38 - to confirm we leave it blank and in the additional notes state N/A (K1 visa process) something along those lines right? Or am I totally wrong!?
Thanks so much for this community ❤️

What stage are you at now? I got "ready" a couple of days ago and am hurrying to finish the DS-160. Did you send them the packet 3 email before they contacted you? Would love to hear what your experience has been the last couple of weeks!
I have my interview booked now for Aug 22. I sent my packet in without being prompted because I was anxious to get it in no answer for a few days and then I sent it in again and within 3 hours I would say I got the email from the Embassy to schedule my interview. Luckily when I went to book there were interviews! I booked a few weeks out to get myself organized. I just had my medical on Tuesday which was super easy, just waiting for the medical package now. My interview is in another few weeks!

My fiance just had his medical with Dr. Mascarenhas and he said it was easy peasy. He was done with the entire appointment including labwork and chest xray by 2pm and he was scheduled for 1:15. Have all your paperwork ready (ie the form posted on his website filled out with your vaccinations by your regular doctor, your passport photos, payment, etc.) and you should be good to go! If you want more specifics, let me know!
Oh awesome! I've got it all ready to go, my doctor's faxed over the signed vaccine forms with the titres because I moved pretty far away from them do you think a faxed form would be an issue? They could easily call the doctor its got all their information and signature on it. Plus I'll have my health records and blood tests to show I am immune with me. I think it will be okay! I'm excited! So close! Thanks for the reply!

Has anyone had their medical with Dr. Lyndon Mascarenhas? Im scheduled for Monday and just curious of anyone's experiences they have had!

What dates specifically were available? I just got "ready" today.
When I went to book Aug 9, 15, 22 were available I booked the 22nd mainly because as much as I'd love to rush it I wanted to give myself some time to organize things and finish up everything so I was ready to go once I got approved!

I was the one that did this and my interview was canceled! It looks like other people have done it too. If you paid the $265 you're probably good. If you look at applicant details it should say k1 not immigrant
Ahh that sucks I'm sorry about that but yes I paid $265 but in the details under Visa Class it says K Visa (Fiance/Spouse/Child) thats the same thing right?

We selected K Visa appointment. I believe someone did the other and they had their appointment cancelled. Not 100% on that though! Good luck!
Okay I thought so I picked K Visa appointment as well and the fee was correct for the K1 so I think its good. I can probably call to confirm though!

I'm going through my email I got from the embassy today and theres a portion that confused me a bit:
You must have the Passport Number, Date of Birth, Nationality, MTL case number, and visa category for each applicant (principal applicant and all family members, including children) ready in order to access the website. When prompted to select “Trip Purpose”, you must choose ‘Permanently Immigrate to the US.’ After entering your information, you will be prompted to select an appointment time for you and your family.
But I can only remember the option for the K Visa and I'm pretty sure I did it right because I was able to pay the correct fee for the K1 Visa process.
Am I crazy or should I be worried? I just can't remember seeing purpose for my trip when going through the selecting interview process!
To add to this when you created your account did you select: I have received a letter from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K visa appointment. OR:

Happy to help! Keep us posted on whether you get P4 back or whether you get the "don't send til we ask" reply back! Good luck!

Same problem with us. The CEAC shows that they received our paperwork on June 27th and when I emailed the consulate to ask they said they have no record of our case. Here's to hoping they send P3 soon.
Yeah eh I haven't even gotten an email from the embassy telling me anything. I did get an email from NVC stating that my documentation had been sent off to the Montreal embassy though!

I haven't heard anything back yet at all
just the no-reply from them!
It's been 2 weeks since they have had it. I guess I just have to keep waiting?

Packet 3 tells you exactly what to do! You're sending 3 things:
1. Confirmation receipt with barcode number of the completed Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application DS-160.
2. Scanned copy of the below “Packet 3 Checklist for K1 Fiancé(e) Visa Applicants”. ONE CHECKLIST PER FAMILY WILL SUFFICE.
3. Color-scanned copy of the biographical data page of the applicant’s valid passport.
Here's the Packet 3 link!

Thank you! You guys have been so helpful so appreciated!

It should just be 3 documents attached to the email you send to montreal-iv-dv@state.gov...
Your DS160 confirmation page
Your P3 CHECKLIST saying you've got the documents listed (you dont need to send those documents, you just need to send the checklist)
A color scan of the ID page of your passport
Subject line should be... MTLCASENUMBER - DS-160 CEAC# BARCODE number you get from filling out your DS160.
Hope it helps!
oh my goodness thank you here I am thinking they want it all via email! lmao! thats so much better you are a life saver!!!

I filled out DS-160 and sent packet 3 about a week after I had status "Ready" I received the generic email saying to wait until we contact you to send Packet 3. I waited a week, and sent Packet 3 again...3 days later I got a request to send Packet 3. I sent it again for a 3rd time, and an hour later I got Packet 4. I waited 17 days after status "Ready" to receive my Packet 3 request email. I would recommend doing DS-160 and sending Packet 3 as soon as you have a "Ready" status. I've only seen one person disagree with doing it this way. I haven't heard of one negative thing happening to anyone who sent Packet 3 before they were asked to. Lots of success stories from doing it that way!
Thanks I've got all the stuff now so I'm going to try and send it in and see what happens!! What email did you send it to? THanks so much for the help! Also did you email it as one document or multiple docs? I feel like I have a ton to send in....
On 6/30/2018 at 11:21 PM, sumbunny said:Hey...
This is just my advice and what seemed to work for us once our CEAC status said "Ready" at Montreal.
Fill out and submit your DS160. Dont wait, just get it done ASAP.
Wait 4-5 business days after submitting DS160 and email Packet 3 off to MTL.
From there, see what happens. We got the "don't send until we request" email an hour and a half before before we got the "official" P3 email on the same day.
Sent it back and got P4 the next day.
I personally don't think it hurts to try sending it off, but others may disagree with me!
Goooood luck! Hopefully it's quick and easy for you from here out!
RThanks! I am going to send it in, did you send it as separate files or created one large document? and do you mind me asking what email you sent it to? Thanks so much for your help!

Hey everyone! I'm not at the scheduling stage yet but we got our "ready" status this week. I've been trying to find out what happens next. From what I have read some people have gotten emails and others got nothing but just sent in their packet and received either an email that said please wait for us to contact or straight up got packet 4. I'm honestly just looking for some guidance of how its technically supposed to go and what to expect or what I should do because I do have everything ready for packet 3.
It's brutal how much you feel like a sitting duck all the time eh!!
Any help or experiences would be much appreciated!!

I don't have the info on how to get the records, sorry. I reported the thread requesting that it be moved to the appropriate regional forum where other people may be able to help with how to get them from Canada.
Yes, the records are required. Even just 1 day in the military requires documentation.
Thanks! I was actually able to get a hold of the right people today finally and luckily was able to get the right documentation sent out. Its honestly one page because my time was so short but at least I have it!
Thanks for the help though.

No, my status was at the fingerprint review has been completed. I suspect once I hand this in it'll change to ready to schedule whenever that'll happen. I still don't have an EAD so of course, this is probably holding that up as well.
