Thanks and congrats!
Did you require a long form birth certificate? My mother never got that one and I'm just now reading from the reviews that that's what they need as it doesn't specify in P3. Just put in an order online but not sure if it'll arrive in time.
Thanks!
Honestly, my mother never got that one too, and I never had it. After reading the reviews here and stuff about someone being told they'd have to be put on hold till they got it sent to them etc.. I ordered it online.. the fast shipment which I had to pay an extra 30$ for. But it came less than 4 business days after I ordered it. And guess what, when I went to the officer, he's like short or long form will do.

Fiance attended interview today and after about 15 questions, got approved. Very happy. Will post details and review later. Planning to book flight tickets 20 days from now.
No please don't book your flight just yet. You never know how long they can take. Even if you are approved, they sometimes need more addition time and your case will be in AP. Unless you can cancel that flight anytime, I would risk it.

Just finished my interview in Montreal and was approved! Will be posting my review a little later.
Good luck to those still waiting. This is definitely a marathon, not a sprint!
I can't wait to hear your experience! My interview was supposed to be today but I changed it to next week!

Anyone having the interview in Feb and still taking the 2016 tax papers for evidence? That should be okay right? Or should we start filling in 2017 taxes and present that?

As far as I know its the long form as it has to have the name of your parents on it. In Manitoba all we have is the long form so I had no problem with that one. But I think a few were ok with the short form it might depend on the officer. I personally would not take the chance and would make sure I had the long form.
Aww I see. I will try to see if I can order it online! Thanks

Hello,
For those who have finished their interview in Montreal for the k1 Fiance Visa, which birth certificate of the petitioner's did they ask for? I have the short form at home but perhaps they require the long form one with the name of parents on it?
Thanks.

I-864is for AoS. You need only I-134 for k1 interview.
Thank you

For the requirements of the interview, we were told to bring the below. My question is do we have to fill out both the I-134 and I-864? When I looked at both forms, they looked a bit similar.
Please bring to your interview the original and one photocopy of each of the following documents (as applicable), for each applicant:
* Affidavit of support (I-134) (for fiancé, employment and DV visas)
* Evidence of support (I-864, Federal individual income tax return for the most recent tax year)

You did not need the I-134 with the petition. It is needed at the time of the consulate interview.
You can try to find out from the consulate (this may be already in their instructions) how fresh the financial documents need to be. If it is not too big of a burden on you, up-to-date documents would certainly look better.
Thank you so much.

Hello Guys,
For the consulate interview, one of the requirements is the I-134, Affidavit of Support Form - Do we have to fill this form from scratch again and attach the supporting documents? Or just make a copy of the I-134, Affidavit of Support that we filled out the first time along with the fiance petition back in May?
Thanks

Questions for those of you already went through completing DS-160: Do you pay for the visa online, after completing the form or payment has to be sent to embassy (???) in a separate transaction? Also is there additional fee for medical examination and interview? If so, how is the payment arranged? Is this embassy specific thing?
Thanks!
I think it's embassy specific. For Canada, when I finished the DS-160, I didn't need to pay anything. However when the embassy sent me my packet 4 with a link to schedule my interview, there was an option to pay for the fee then, it said you can pay the visa fee via credit or debit card OR bring it in US dollar cash on the day of the interview to the consulate.
Hope that helps.

Hi! Thank you for this!
So you had all your documentation ready? And they scheduled you only three weeks out? Was this a cancellation or are they really ready to schedule less than a month out?
Did they send Packet 4 by email?
I'm NOA2 Dec. 19th and still waiting for NVC to receive my case but if it's going to be that quick, maybe I better get my USC to start sending his documents to me sooner than I thought.
Hey! You are welcome
No my documentation I am supposed to bring to the interview, so it's not completely ready. I have most of it ready, like my police certificate my fiance will bring what's needed of him when he comes sees me before the interview etc.. and yes! There were available spots 3 weeks out so I chose it. There were three timings there so I don't think its a cancellation lol. And yes packet 4 was sent my email after I sent them the packet 3 a second ime lol. All the best!

Hello Everyone,
Finally got to schedule my interview in Montreal Canada today.
Case was READY on Dec 31 so I sent my packet 3. Got an email back saying at this time we are reviewing your case and don't need you to send it just yet. On Jan 9, I seen my case last updated date update on the CEAC website (so figured they were working on my case) so i sent packet 2 again lol. They also worked on my case yesterday and today i seen the case last updated dates change. Finally recieved the packet 4 today with my interview link. For my fellow Canadians, all interviews are held on Wednesdays only. And there were available dates for Jan 31, and every Wednesday in Febuary and March. So your time will come guys.. All the best. lots of waiting but it'll come.

Hello,
Filed on 24th May 2017. Received date for interview today (it was posted 20th December and sent to our old address - we moved on 16th Dec and I notified them of the move on 17th Dec and they responded to say they would reply by 29th Dec (they never have). Luckily we have auto-forwarding so it came today. Interview is on Jan 25th at Baltimore, as that's the field office who has been dealing with the application. Very excited now, almost there!
Good luck to anyone else yet to hear. I'm sure it's just down to local processing times.
Hi, how is the interview scheduled in Baltimore for the fiance visa? Is it not in the country of the beneficiary?
P.S that's the city I will be moving to

i hope ours too.
We received the letter NOA2 Decmber 15. we received the approval email december 13. And the approval date stated in NOA2 is December 11. we called USCIS a week after we received the letter, they said we nned to wait for the NVC to send the packet or instruction, we will receive a case number. we called NVC today, they said we just need to wait because it is still within 2 to 6 weeks time frame.
Yes that was the slow part for us too.. we received the NOA2 on October 26 and got our case number December 26.. 8 weeks later. Then it was fast from then we got our case number, and status changed to ready in 2 days.

Really? Thank you so much for saying that.
It's so frustrating because we are just waiting, not doing anything, that's what's most annoying! At least with a interview date or with a number we can actually DO something like prepare docs etc.
It's helpful to know that everything will move faster from here!
No problem
Trust me, I know! Been there done that..it was horrible. But thank god there was and will be light after the dark.

The email that the NVC sent us with our Montreal Consulate case number said for me to complete the DS-160. So I think as soon as you have your case number you can complete it. I completed mine while my status still said "In Transit".
And yes, packet 3 checklist is sent by the beneficiary since they are the one signing it and it is their passport and DS-160 that is accompanying it. You don't actually hard copies to the embassy, you just checkmark that you have all those things available and then you bring them with you to the interview. The only things you send back with Packet 3 are the DS-160 confirmation page and a color copy of the bio page of your passport.
Did you print the confirmation page of the DS-160 and scan it or it has an option to attach it to an email?

Packet 3 is sent by the embassy to the beneficiary, then they need to send some things back to the embassy (affidavit, birth certificate, etc - a list will be provided), and then the embassy will send packet 4 with instructions on scheduling your stuff or at least that's my understanding.
Also in my understanding, I've read you can submit your DS-160 whenever you want, and that it's good for up to a year (again, not sure if this is true), but I was told here to wait until I get packet 3 from embassy, so I am doing that just in case.
I dont know about Spain, but in some countries the beneficiary sends the packet 3 requirements without waiting for it from the embassy. Because sometimes it does not come at all or comes weeks after! Look into that again.

I've heard that too! I've also been told that if the "case last updated" date changes and I haven't received packet 4 yet, then I should trying sending packet 3 again!
Fingers crossed you get your case number super fast!! I also received an email stating that our request for it to be expedited had been approved, though we never asked for it to be expedited. Though, looking at some other May Canadian filers, they received the same email too. Maybe that's why it moved so fast from NVC to Montreal.
When did you received your NOA2?
Yesss. Wow that's amazing. Keep us updated please.
My NOA2 online was recieved Oct 27, but the one on the actual paper says Oct 26. So around when you got it.

Hi all,
Just a quick update: I waited a little over 6 weeks for my case to arrive at the NVC. Once it did arrive, everything else happened pretty quickly.
October 26th - NOA2
December 15th - Arrived at NVC
December 17th - Email with consulate number arrived
December 20th - CEAC status changed from IN TRANSIT to READY
Not sure why it took over 6 weeks for our file to reach the NVC (I thought 6 weeks would be the maximum, but I guess this process has taken the longest for a lot of us).
Sent DS-160, passport and Packet 3 checklist today. Now, I shall wait for Packet 4. Fingers crossed!!!
Good luck all <3
Yes you have to wait for the packet 4. I've seen people send in the packet 3 couple times after not hearing from them in a week or so. All the best! Our timelines look the same except our case number arrived to NVC today. I hope everything goes smooth from here.
