Well shoot.  Carl received his letter for more evidence.  All they want is a 2x2 passport style picture.  Really, the copy of the ACTUAL passport and photo wasn't good enough?  Guess it's a trip to CVS tonight to get a photo and mail that back in.  Hoping for an approval soon after they receive it.

Thanks.  Jona is actually from the Philippines.  She's been in Korea for the past few years on a work visa.  I'm praying that doesn't delay the process even more.

Carl and Jona's timeline hasn't moved - maybe that's a good thing.  Maybe they'll have a Valentine Day wedding. 

Carl is flying to Seoul on Thanksgiving day so they can spend a week together.  Hopefully, there will be good news for him when he gets home.

Thank you.  I knew she was "the one" while he was stationed in South Korea.  Carl never smiles in pictures, but from the day he met Jona, he was nothing but smiles in every picture he posted.  I know he's truly happy when he's with her and that's all that matters to me.  Unfortunately, I know what you mean about some family members.  Carl's sisters and I are excited for him and have been chatting with Jona over facetime to get to know her so she'll feel more comfortable once she gets here.  But the rest of the family has made some ridiculous comments.  Just don't understand their problem.  One of the big ones people bring up is - you barely know her, you got engaged within six months.  Then I remind them that my husband and I got engaged after just two months and have been together for 25 years now - while all of them are on marriage 2 or 3!  When you know, you know.

I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone on this thread.  Been reading through it to catch up and have learned alot from all of you.  Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us newbies!!

I'm following on behalf of my son and soon to be daughter.  Can't wait until she gets here to properly welcome her to our crazy family.  (hopefully we won't scare her off lol)
