  1. Today I had my interview. We were scheduled to 9:45 a.m, but we waited for almost an hour until they called us. We got there 20 min. before.  The officer was very friendly. He first asked to see our IDs, and asked to see my passports. He asked to my husband what was his name, SSN, address, phone number, parents names, ex- wife's name, where he works. Then he asked me the same questions about me ( he was just going through the application to confirm our information). Then he asked me the questions of the form I-485. I feel like he asked me all the questions, if don't, almost all of it. Then, he asked me how I met my husband, when we first met in person, when we became a couple, when we decided to get married, why was fast, who was in our wedding day, if we had a honeymoon. After the questions, he asked to see what evidences we brought. We showed utilities bills in our names, health insurance, credit card, bank statement, tax return. We showed our wedding certificate, but he said the copy was fine. He didn't ask to see our original birth certificates( yesterday my husband got another official copy because he couldn't find his). For last , he asked to see my medical exam and if we had photos to show. We had an album with pictures since the beginning of our relationship until now. While he was looking the pictures, he asked questions about some of the pictures. He said everything was looking fine and would recommend us to approval. He explained that my green card would be valid just for 2 years, and explained that I would need to apply again in 21 months. He said that in 3 years from today I would be able to apply for citizenship if I wanted. I can't believe that this waiting process is over. I am so happy!!! In the end of this afternoon I got the update that my card was being produced.

Initial I-693 is required with I-485. Otherwise you would get a RFIE and even a denial if after submitted on or after 9/11/18. You can always do it before the interview and submit there if they ask. I think submitting all documents initially looks good with IO reviewing it.

Actually, when I read the instructions of the form I-485 , I saw that it was optional to send the medical exam together ( because of the delays). Later, I received a courtesy letter from the USCIS  in the same time I got the approval of my employment card. They said I could  bring with me in the interview day.

Are you redoing your I-693 Medical exam?

I haven't  done my medical exam before. I'm glad I didn't, since it has been more than a year that I sent my application.

Last Friday I had an appointment with an  immigration Doctor. This week I will take the vaccines that I need. Then, probably on Friday I will get my papers from the doctor.

1/18/19 was a Friday. I have the same date too. Do you think they mailed it that Friday or the following Tuesday? MLK was a holiday so nothing was mailed out. Or was it mailed last Saturday?

I know I won’t get it today according to USPS informed delivery.

That's nice that our interview were scheduled in the same day.

I got my letter today. My interview date is February 26. Excited and anxious!

Mine is expiring in April, if you submit the renewal on time you automatically get 180 days ead extension. So you should be fine! My FO is SF too and ppl from July got their interview notice, so we probably will hear from them in 2-3 months.

    Good luck

I am in the same situation. Mine also expires in the end of March. I have also submitted the renewal in the beginning of November, but I didn't receive the 180 EAD extension. How this extension works? Is it a letter?

    Congratulations for your green card.

I think you just got the 2 ys conditional green card.  But check your green card expiration date to make sure!

So my interview is on December 26th. So it’s either going to be the best Christmas ever or the worst.

Hi Martin. Wishing you luck in your interview. Please, share your experience with us.

I am also in Utah, but I sent my application in October. I don't have any expectations to receive an interview notice anytime soon. I had a RFE in March, and my case was ready for interview just in April. Last month, I had an Infopass appointment and the officer said that I will probably just be interviewed around April/ May 2019.

I am very happy that you won't wait this long.

    Good luck!!!

Hi. I would like to ask when you file your AOS, did you use already your married name or still your surname when you were single?

In my case I used my married name, and also I chose which would be my middle name. In  the  letters that I received  from the immigration , they used  the name that I had put in my application. My work permit and social security too. But I believe this is your choice. If you don't want to change your name , you don't have to.

It’s interesting, my senator office inquired 2 month ago for the EAD and AOS and last week they had the formality of coming back after approval and I asked . Apparently it is a blend, of course it is not fully On RD as if the case is not ready they won’t schedule, but once ready its placed on a Queue that it is prioritized by RD. Now given delays everybody it is kind of on the same place.

Also so something else to back it up is that the date for inquiring is based on RD not Case ready date

Well, it was what the officer here told me. I hope he is wrong because I think that is not fair be the ready for schedule interview date the one they should look it.

Houston FO sending interview letters for 5/1/17 PD/RD.

It was just what the officer told me. I hope he is wrong.

waiting, Miami AOS RD 10/16/17 F2A with PD 8/11/16. I’ve had my case in Ready for interview for around 3 weeks. Looking at different forums it seems there’s a 5-8 mth delay between this and the interview notice in my FO as, unfortunately for my case but fortunately for the community :), we have many immigrants in the area.

What I’m still not sure is wether they schedule based on the i485 RD or the date my case moved to ready for interview

This this week I had an infopass in my local office just to check my case. The officer said that they schedule the interview based on the time our cases are ready for interview. Since my case has been ready for interview just since last April, he said I won't  have an interview until April/May of the next year. Sad!

I got such an update, apparently from March 15th.

I have reason to believe these updates might not be "for real":

    1. I'm at Atlanta office, which takes on average a bit over a year to get an interview date. I'm at 11 months now, and March would have been 6 months.

    2. I have never moved or changed addresses and received all mail from USCIS so far. I have also signed up for USPS notifications a year ago. I have not received anything pointing towards receiving an interview date. I have received mail since (about my EAD renewal).

    3. Almost all of the people who suddenly received a notification, received the same one at the same date.

    4. Some people who got this notification, already received their greencard or interview date before that date.

This makes me conclude that this update is an accident of some kind, and it is not to be taken seriously.

Please let me know if I'm wrong, as that means I have missed the interview by months. I doubt it, as I think that would mean they consider it abandoned, no?

Well, when they say that the case is ready to be scheduled for an interview doesn't necessarily means that the interview will be scheduled soon. It can take months, it all depends of the local office. At least you know that they won't send you a RFE.

You can't trust in the processing time for your local office, it's not accurate. You would be surprised how many people get their interview done, while in the processing time shows a totally different date.

I hope they can schedule your interview soon. Good luck!!

Do you know how long on average? Initial mail was sent to wrong address.

I have no idea, but shouldn't take long.
