Yes keep on you will really get in touch with them , because sometimes their phone lines used to be busy or unreachable !
Yes, one of the guards joked with my husband and said they intentionally don't pick up the phone. Hubby went back this morning and they reprinted for him.

Pls try to contact the embassy through phone and explain your problems about the wrong marital status in immediate effect. Don't just use the visa and travel like that because it will have a serious effect on you.
By God grace your problem will be solve if you really contact them , good luck.
They don't answer the phone. I sent an email last night and am making a couple of other calls this morning.

Hubby was able to pick up the passports yesterday and just noticed that they have his marital status as single and not married. Everything else is correct. Super frustrated because it was a spousal visa, includes our marriage certificate and everything. How soon can the embassy correct it? Will they require it to be corrected? I booked their flights for Monday. 😞

Did they get your attachment open? They really will get to it. Patients and enjoy your time with your hubby ❤
They did and stayed on the phone with me until they could see it lol. I GOT THE APPROVAL TODAY! When I landed in Fort Lauderdale, I checked it again and it says Issued. We're just waiting for them to say we can pick them up!!! 😁😁😁💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽

Keep me posted 👍🏼
So I'm in Jamaica now and haven't heard from the embassy. I hope we hear something soon- within the next few days. I fly out tomorrow afternoon. It would have been perfect 😢

@Jenny17655- the embassy called me this afternoon! They were having problems opening my attachment and said that they are planning to place my documents on the desk tomorrow morning. 🤞🤞🤞

They will look at it and respond within a few days. The embassy was good like that. I sent them several email communications and always got a response. You'll be fine. The AP status on the CEAC site says if the case is approved your visa will be available within 2 business days. When we got our approval at the embassy I just mentioned that to the CO and asked if we could pick his visa up at the embassy instead of waiting on DHL. He said yes and we picked it up 2 business days later.
I really hope it goes as well as you and my hubby, family, and bff say it will go. I seem to be the only one stressing over the timeline and scared that they won't respond

I just went through this with my K1 application. My fiancee was given the same temporary denial, same embassy. I too made over the requirements and was simply told it is at the COs discretion. My fiancee did require a second interview with me present. His first interview which he attended alone was on Aug 16th. We scheduled the second interview on September 10th. I flew out with the co sponsor documents. We were in and out of the embassy in about an hour with our approval. He flew home with me that Saturday the 15th. I know first hand the anxiety this causes and I'm sorry you have to go though it. Best of luck
💜💜💜 thank you so much! I have a ticket to go visit October 1st-4th and was hoping they'd be able to come back with me. Do you know how long they'll take to look at my joint sponsor? I sent it in Friday morning. They responded to the email I sent Thursday night on Friday morning- about 10 minutes after I sent in my documents to the other email. We don't have to do a 2nd interview, thankfully.

NVC only does an initial review of the I-864. If you meet the minimum requirements to file an I-864, then that usually suffices for them. The CO makes a public charge decision based on the totality of the circumstances, which is more than just meeting the minimums.
That's understandable but I feel like they should have taken into account my earning history. I did take a salary cut last year after leaving a crazy work environment where mass layoffs were happening and tried other things and side hustles that were better for my health. Now, I'm back, working full time at one place, enjoying what I do. So... life isn't always cooperative with our perfect plans. And that's OK.

It was the AGI- I didn't file 1040EZ, so I misinterpreted the form when I read the statement about the AGI.
I mean they looked at line 22, like another poster said- NOT the AGI. I sent my stuff in yesteraday morning and the CEAC system says something was updated yesterday. I don't know what that means...

It's just a guess from my end, but I wonder sometimes if they take that into account, since they ask for prior tax returns in addition to the current/recent ones. That may have been the case in your situation, if everything else was fine.

Yes. Line 22 is "total income". Note the parenthesis around mention of adjusted gross income if using the 1040EZ. 😉
Yes, for whatever reason, that tripped me up.

Did you send the WHOLE tax return or just the first couple of pages (summary)? I initially sent just the "summary" and received an RFE on "income". I then sent the entire tax return with a letter of explanation. I'm a business owner so I have Business income and Personal income. They approved after the 2nd set of documents I sent. PS - make sure you send CURRENT year income verification (2018). A tax return shows income for 2017.
I sent in my transcripts with my W2s for the past 3 years along with my current job information and pay stubs up to the point before I sent my package to the NVC. It was my fault.

My visa was approved and i also had a low income for 2017 due to me moving back to usa and working less than quarter of the year i did not meet the poverty level. I did not use a joint sponser but was approved. I used my bank account which was more than the 5x requirement of the poverty level. I also showed all my pay stubs for 2018 and scanned them to the nvc website to show i was well above the poverty limit for 2018 and during the interview i stated that and no problems also stated my job and that i also work for the special area of the government they also requested to see my work ID so maybe that helped a bit not sure.
Yeah, they didn't take into account that my new position is well over the limit. I guess NVC thought it was fine because we didn't receive any checklists or anything.

That's the thing- they didn't say we needed a second interview.
Family size if 3. 125% of FPL is really low. Less than $27K

Is your current job/salary new? If it's not new (you've been there well over a year), did you provide enough evidence showing the length of your salary/job?
Yes, less than a year. I think they looked at net, maybe?

Hi everyone!
So, we received a temporary denial today at the interview. The consular officer stated that I need a joint sponsor. The thing is, I make twice what the minimum is for my family size. I don't understand it. Apparently, I efficiently front loaded our information and the officer didn't ask for much except to see our pictures.
Has anyone else gone through this?
Why isn't my income sufficient?
After I submit the joint sponsor, how long will it take for them to review (I'm planning to submit the sponsor information tomorrow at the latest)?
The officer kept the passports- is that a good sign?
I'm slightly devastated. I sent my current job salary information back to them and asked additional questions. I don't know if they'll respond though.

Thanks Phoenix.💓., Really appreciate this post
You're welcome. I was frustrated not knowing what to expect and not being able to easily find the answer to my questions about the medical. The shots at the hospital happened to be cheaper than the ones at the immunization center. Keep us in your good thoughts because a storm is going to be near the island and our interview is next Thursday.
