only consolation I can give is other VJ members received their visa immediately after submitting "missing" paperwork. I can't even get mad anymore. We've been lied to, also had to return to Kingston twice because they claim "they saw something on her x-ray" whatever that meant...which come to find out means they messed up her x-ray so she had to return to do them again. I'm grateful that I do receive replies to my emails from the embassy within 24hours. I'm glad I've stayed on top of it or we also would be in AP forever waiting on the medical that was so-called sent last week *side eye*. I'm going to send an email everyday until they tell me they have the medical and still praying they don't need any "missing" documents

Not luck of the draw - it's called them not doing their job!!!! In theory, had she kept his original BC that day, Reni would BE HERE BY NOW, we might have been able to fly back together!!! This entire time I have been driving myself crazy trying to understand what and why are we still in AP since the 30th when they have everything. As long as the embassy has everything, they do issue the visa that fast like the other VJ member. The problem is their lack of care of other people's lives because this is clear incompetence.
 
That day the CO didn't ask us for anymore proof of relationship or anything and said it would be issued in a week! This coming Friday will be 3 weeks!!!! Because she didn't do what she was suppose to do! And then they don't make it easy for anyone to get in contact with them. I've sent about 4 emails since earlier last week and I have only gotten responses to 2 of them! It takes them 5 business days for them to respond back. And then you provide INCORRECT information because last week they said they had everything!!! So that tells me, you were finishing up his brown envelope and realized, "holy #######, Batman, we didn't keep his original BC with us". As you know, Kingston is not down the street from where our fiancés' live. To think that he had to make 2 trips to Kingston the week of the interview because the hospital FORGOT to give him an extra vaccination shot!!! It's one thing if we're not doing our part in being diligent, but my taxes supplies their salary!!!! They don't get the right to be incompetent at MY EXPENSE!
 
Besides my patience being shot, they think money grows on trees!!!!!

@Trinab80 In the same boat smh I emailed embassy to see if they receive the medical, still no. It pisses me off the nurse lied and said it was sent when it wasn't. I pray everything goes smooth. I see reviews on Jamaica's consulate page here on VJ of someone doing interview on 05/11/2018 and received visa in hand 05/15/2018. Luck of the draw I guess

So, after waiting almost 3 weeks after the interview and being told in an email response last Thursday that they had all documents they needed and the visa is ready for printing, I get an email response back from the embassy earlier this morning saying they need Reni's original BC and that they called him but he didn't answer and for him to send his original BC ASAP. Reni says that while he didn't get a message from the embassy but he said a private number called him last week but he didn't answer it (which is normal because I don't answer numbers I don't recognize or private numbers).
 
Here's the kicker...when we went to our interview on the 27th, we handed all his original documents (original BC included) to the first woman who collected all of the document and she HANDED HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE BACK TO US!!!! In my head that day I thought to myself "isn't she suppose to keep it" but I thought she made a copy of it when she walked away from the window, I mean, who am I to 2nd guess what her job requirements are when she does this all day every day?!?
 
So now Reni is on his way to DHL in Montego Bay so he can send his original BC to the embassy. Unlike other embassies, JA does not let you upload and email the document so that means we will be waiting longer; probably another week or so before they issue his visa.
 
Just beyond frustrating because last week you had everything you needed and today you don't. But 3 weeks ago we gave you EVERYTHING at the interview. If I had not been so persistent and pestering them with multiple emails, no telling how long we would have been sitting in AP status or if they would have eventually sent our case back to let it expire for something that WASN'T OUR FAULT!!!
 

You telling me! I just hope the status is updated online. USCIS still has our case as "received" smh so I don't put a lot of faith in online updates. I sent an email just now so once I hear something back I think Ii will breathe easier.

I've been checking this CEAC case tracker all morning long and still in AP status. Reni is pretty much packed and just waiting for DHL to send us the tracking #. This waiting is killing me!

welp, still waiting for the visa to be sent off. I'll send an email to the embassy in Kingston but I'm hoping by the time I get a response the visa will be printed & mailed. With any luck, @Trinab80 you guys will get yours today and us tomorrow or sometime this week.

So I finally got a response back to the embassy to my email inquiring about the status of our visa. The response said that his visa is now ready for printing!!!!! The status on the CEAC case tracker still says AP but at least I know it's just about done and will be issued very soon. So all the worrying I did was for nothing. 
 
I'm thinking the status will change tomorrow no later than Monday and he'll be able to fly out between Wednesday-Friday of next week.

I think at this point it's wise to save your vacation days.  I know its been a long process, but we still have almost 7 months left in the year and I'm sure you will want to take some time off between now and then.  Reni will be fine.  He will have his visa issued, he will fly to the States, and you will be right there to pick him up.  God didn't bring you this far to leave you.
 
 

Thats a tough one! If It was me ( which of course it isn't !) I would probably fly tomorrow. In London they say a week to 10 business days for the visa to be issued and then it has to get to you depending on whether you have it fedexed and if its FEDEX you may get it the same day or maybe the next.  Save those vacation days for celebrating when he gets here!  Just my opinion however!!

Hi all! My fiance received his k1-visa on Wed 5/9. He was not notified it was ready for pick up. He had gotten a new passport since opening the account and they still had the old passport number on file, which is why he didn't receive notification. He decided to go to the office where passports are delivered, because he had a feeling the passport would be there. It had been sitting there for the past two days 
 
We're so happy to finally have his visa in hand. His flight to the U.S. is on 6/10. We are patiently waiting until then. If anyone had told me it would take nearly a year for this K1 to process, I wouldn't have believed them. I can't wait for him to get here so we can move on to the next chapter. 

Thanks @Trinab80 She just called me we are APPROVED!!!!!!!!!! I feel a weight lifted off my shoulders. She called telling me she didn't get it and I'm like ####### and she started laughing like no she was approved lol I was worried with me not being able to go with her. She said the officer looked at the photos I sent and said we look sweet and must be facebook lovers. I think he got off seeing pics of 2 women kissing lol

Hello all, here's our up date:
 
4/26- Interview (approved)
4/27- Visa status stayed on application ready.
5/4- Visa status checked changed to non-immigrant visa application, AP
5/7- The embassy called my fiance in the morning and asked him to email his birth certificate, as they forgot to ask him for it. Within 1 hr of him sending it, our status changed to Issued! Hopefully he'll have his visa in hand by the end of this week.

Thanks hun...really means a lot. I've decided to stay until Wednesday and we'll see what happens between now and then. If it gets issued before I leave then I'll wait but if not by ties I'll leave Wednesday and he'll have to come on his own or maybe I'll come back for a quick weekend trip to fly back with him. 

I think our ppl are good to fly out themselves. I've been reading every post I can about AP status and most got it within 2 weeks of interview approval. You were confident about me buying my fiance plane ticket in June so stay strong and positive. You kept my hopes up so please don't falter now when we are so close! We got this. My fiance and I basing our timeline off of yours lol we think you and Reni will get the visa by this Thursday or before. We estimate ours coming the following Monday. 

Okay guys...I'll wait it out a little longer. Just wish the CO didn't say a week if he knew it would take longer. 
 
So overdone with all this waiting. 

Its says "immigrant visa" because k1 visas have the intent to migrate. But I'm gonna continue to be patient. I just want us to f loy home together so I hope it gets issued before next Friday or Saturday if not sooner.

So today makes a week since our interview and being told we're approved. The CO told us that they would issue the visa in a week however as of this morning it's still in AP status. Now, I'm doing my best not to worry too much but do any of you think I should email the embassy to find out the status or just wait a bit longer? 
 
His medical exam was there on time for the interview and all documents were there and presented to the CO. I have decided to stay possibly one more week, at least until the 11th or 12th because I would like for us to fly back together but I wanted to leave no later than the 9th.
 
Am I overthinking this and should just be patient or should I email them to ask what's the ETA on issuing his visa?

Anytime!!! I just read your review. Make sure you stay on top of Andrews regarding her medical exam. Because we called on Monday to find out if it would be there before Reni's interview they actually realized they forgot to give him an immunization shot and had him go back up there this last Wednesday to get it which was only 2 days before his interview. However, his medical exam was there in his file on the day of his interview because I actually saw it while we were going through our questions. His medical exam was on 4/18 so yours should be there by now or definitely before the week is over.
