    Skype is the primary method of communication between me and my spouse for voice conversation. However, it seems like Skype is no longer available in UAE. Do you guys know of any other service that is available in UAE (whatsapp, viber, imo, none of these allow voice conversation)  :(

    Have you tried Telegram? It's also another app that allows you to chat and make phone calls. Not sure if it's allowed in UAE, but you can try.

    i think you should share some ideas so you can continue to dream a bit more about your special day and we can all dream with you :D

    what kind of venue? how many guests? what kind of dress do you have on your mind? did you try it on yet or just saw in pix?

    Haha True! Well I found my dress while on a trip to Mexico. It was the fourth dress I had tried on ( I tried 3 at David's Bridal in Texas) and I just knew it when I saw it on the hanger that it was the one I would love. It has just a little bit of everything that I wanted. Sparkle, detail and not big. It also comes with a detachable jacket and train.

    The venue that I'm looking at is for about 120 guests and this includes the kids of family members and friends. The venue is nothing fancy, but it is something inexpensive and has everything that I would want without having to pay so much. They are including the table linens and my decorations will be simple. Can't go wrong with Mason Jars. I'm getting a coworker to help me spray paint them in the colors of our wedding ( I chose one of his favorite colors and one of mine). My Fiance and I have discussed our first dance song and also the kind of music we should ask the dj to play. For me, it is important for my family and friends to know that I am embracing a new culture with so much love and want some of his Persian culture at our wedding :wub: .

    yeah we will also have a small wedding for just the two of us, after the POE.. and we plan on the big wedding - well not huge, but about 50 guests - for oct/nov 2018. we already found an awesome venue, but we won't book until noa2. for some reason i don't trust this time process just yet lol but the planning and researching is fun, and keeps me busy to not go crazy with this wait..

    but i already got the dress for the big wedding :D so exciting! i look at it every day and motivate myself to stay strong and the wait will be worth it....

    another question - did anyone research yet on how to transfer money or how to do that? keep an account in your home country?

    and what about all your personal belongings, will you ship things or what are the plans?

    I thought I was the only one! I am paying off on my dress too, but already found the one I wanted to wear :) I also have found the venue and have our colors, decorations (may need to work on them through the waiting game)! So Exciting!!!!

    Hello there,

    we are september filers also. I am swiss and mu fiance is from georgia.

    we got our noa1 about 2 weeks ago and hope now for the best.

    We both dream of spending Xmas together in our home, but seems very unrealistic.

    but let’s still dream and see how long it will take.

    did anyone get an update on the case status that does say something new/updated?

    No update yet. I'm going on exactly a month since it was received on the 5th. :unsure: Patience Patience and Stay Positive, that's what my fiancé keeps telling me. :wub:  Wishing the best for you and all!

    Great, Im still getting all together. When you send the pictures did you send originals or send copies and did you dated them? I have printed them on paper black and white but some has dates some don't.

    I sent my pictures printed on regular photo paper. I don't know if they are considered original or copies since I can ultimately make many copies by sending them to the local lab. I just put my name and last name on the back, some had dates already stamped in the front and those that didn't I just sent them like that. It asks to put the case number on the back as well, but because mine was a new one, I didn't have any case number to put.

    Hey other sept filers,

    We filed ours on the 17th - does anyone have an estimate for how long we should expect the NOA1 to take? I tracked the USPS delivery and it made it to the PO box a few days after (wednesday) but the money is still in my fiancé's account. Any September filers that filed earlier that can give me an idea? Thanks and good luck :)

    You should have him check his account either tomorrow or Tuesday morning. That's how I found out. I sent mine on the 1st and it arrived on the 5th due to the holiday. On the 7th I checked my account during the day and nothing had been withdrawn. Friday morning I checked at 7am and had an email from my bank stating the large withdraw and when I checked the account it had the USCIS draft. Later that day (8th) I received the text and email and the NOA1 arrived on the 14th.

    i have officially mailed my package off today why didnt anyone tell me waiting for the NOA1 was just as nerve wrecking :wacko:

    Congrats! Yes it is nerve wrecking. I kept checking the package via USPS and when I saw it had made it to their lockbox. I kept checking my checking account and that is how I found out that it had been accepted; they cashed the check the night before and sent me a text and email the next day :D. Now the real wait begins for us lol

  8. I submitted mine plain and simple, following the USCIS preference that is. Notification of Acceptance form, check on top of the front of the packet and the 2 passport photos attached behind it, then the cover letter and everything was tabbed with small sticky paper tabs just as they asked for on the site and paper clipped it all together. I put everything in a yellow envelope and made sure to write down "Original Submission" on the envelope and cover letter. It was accepted and received our NOA1 with a case number.

    Best of luck!

    There should be a portal for you where you can connect with other members from Iran, see timelines and posts from people with significant others in Iran.

    After you get your NOA1 you can get your material together for the next phase, but until you get the NOA2 there is nothing specific you need to do but wait - what are you asking specifically when you say "is it possible for him to start his process" - do you mean the medical, etc? The medical expires after 6 months, so it is best to wait until closer to your interview date. Some locations wont even do them until a week or two before your interview (they ask for proof of interview time). Some places also have an expiration date on things like the police background and the birth certificate.

    If he has lived 6 months or more in any other countries he would have to get police background certificates from those, so that is perhaps something he can do.

    Here is a link to the specific Iran portal as well as the Middle East group.

    Iran --> http://www.visajourney.com/portals/index.php?country=Iran

    MENA forum --> http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/97-middle-east-and-north-africa/

    Thank you! I will look into these groups.

    Also, yes he was just wondering if he needed to get any of those steps out of the way before getting the approval, but as you mention and I had mentioned to him, he doesn't need to do anything right now until we receive the NOA2.

    In briefly looking at the Iran portal, it appears that long administrative processing is routinely given to Iranians unfortunately - so mentally prepare yourself that it may be a really long wait. Try to have as many visits as you can.

    It also appears that the embassy in Turkmenistan and Islamabad are options for you.

    Honestly pray this isn't always the case :unsure:. Thank you for your replies! Greatly appreciated.
