Wow, you are a sharp shooter, got married in two days from your arrival. Congrats.

Well, for your SS,  you can go to SS office and apply for one, they will ask for your Passport and your I-94.

For EAD and AP, You need to file I-485 adjustment of status. Just look at the GUIDES here in VJ and follow the instructions.

Its will take at least 6 months to get your EAD/AP card

Thank you , so I should start by filling for SSN and once I got the SSN i file for AOS , because we cant even have a join account to file for aos right now

  2. Hello guy , we got married today , and we are looking forward to file for SSN and AOS

I did enter the us on 07/03/2018 , and we got married today 07/05/2018 ,  I am trying to look for some one to guide me on how to file for SSN , work authorization , and Advanced parole and adjustment of status , because I am really confused since I didnt find a complete guide on how to do it also what kind of proof I can submit for a bonafide marriage knowing that we just got married

I did enter the US on k1 visa , Thank you all.

He said he was the the last person called and the man the interviewed him was pretty young and definitely got a vibe that he didn’t like him :(

But said he answered everything correct, I’m sure I will find out more. When we can both can talk more.

I’ve visited 3 times in the last year for a total of over 30days and we had lots of photos, messages.

We are close in age, no divorces, kids, criminal records.

Didn't see this coming at all 😭💔

I think theirs more to the story than what you said , been aproved or denied is not about time spent together , I got aprouved in the embassy of algeria , with 1 visit for few days ( not even a week)

one more thing , they tend to aprouve or denie some one before the interview

Lots of job opportunities in Houston honestly. Big area though so could mean travel for work each day, commuting time can be a pain with traffic. What type of field of work? Also, same as for my husband, he had a degree in management but because, even with having internships in the US previously, without a lot of US work experience he had to start at a lesser position in one company until he found something else in his current company as an assistant manager. So depending on your field of work you may have to concede to a slightly more "entry" level until you get US work experience; but that is not always the case either.

Oh yes when  it come to traffic , my wife already told me that its a pain especialy during the rush hours , actually I work as a Software Enginner  , after doing some research  I found out that theirs plenty of job oportunity in my field , so I am a bit optimistic , one thing for sur I will have to start with an entry level job since it my first time in the US. and I am a bit worried about the Hurican lol

Obviously everyone has a different view of the US and expectations about exactly what it is like.

My husband had been here in NY for two prior J-1 internships, but then moving to Houston with me obviously was completely different setting so he had to adjust abit; but had realistic expectations.

When someone has never been to the US, all they have to go by is movies, TV shows, magazine photos, ect... so some get high hopes and think everyone is made of money, and so on... then reality sets in when they see it isn't that way. Definately trying to give them a more realistic view of it all a head of time is a good thing.

Oh Houston , I will join my wife in few days she lives in Houston , I never been in the US , I just hope I will be able to find a job in my field. and to be honest with you , I dont have a hight expectation , I know for sur , that where ever you live. there will be always some kind of struggle

So you sent in your Passport and they sent it back with Visa?

No I did book an interview date , I did prepare all the paper work , once in the embassy , they took my finger print , document and the passport then the lady provided me with a peper saying (Congratulation your immigration visa has been aprouved and how to pick up my passport) , after that they called me to another window , where the CO told me you have 90 days , dont waist lot of time once you enter the us. and that was it.

    Hi

can anyone please help me with the following questions?

I got married with the USC wife and already have conditional green card. We are supposed to file for ROC in Nov 2018. we have a lot of document and pictures in common which proves bonafied marriage. (car insurance, lease , utilities,  dental insurance, bank statement, three credit cards of mine that she is authorized to use, sam's club membership, joint tax return, drivers license the same address, health insurance, etc).

few months ago she betrayed me and I caught her having nude chat with a guy, she confessed it , I talked to her family and finally they assured me that she will compensate and it was an accident. I forgave her and she promised to never repeat the mistake.

recently I caught her naked with a guy in my apartment , I was shocked ... . and called police , the guy ran away before police come over, police reported it. plus that I found a lot of sex chat with some random people in her phone and took video and shot from all of them.

the question is what should I do now? file for divorce? I should file for divorce or she? what are the next steps? ( I came to the US by F1 visa and still student).

I am shocked and completely confused, please tell me what should I do now?

I am in a haze about about the NVC and packets 3 & 4.

I mostly thought that NVC would approve the case; send to the embassy; I'd mail the I-134 (or I-864 if requested); SO would have medical appointment/vaccines; and SO would fulfill DS-160/schedule online for embassy interview.

Now I'm seeing the need for police certificate that usually expires in 3 months and military records/card (Algeria). AND EVERYTHING LOOKS SO MUCH MORE COMPLICATED THAN I THOUGHT AND I'M STARTING TO WORRY.

Also, Algeria is a bureaucratic nightmare where it takes forever to have anything done. Having good supporting documents for the 129F was difficult. It was a herculean effort for him to receive his "certificate of non-marriage" and to have it translated by a state-sworn translator because they randomly close their businesses.

Does anyone remember when the Algerian Post practically shut down for a month because of Ramadan? Most of the international mail was stuck in the Algiers Airport for 1 to 3 months. When he sends me a letter via the regular post, it takes THREE MONTHS to arrive. Expedited still takes too long.

I paid $100 for 3-day business and it was lost for 2 months. 1/3 of our correspondences via post inexplicably disappears. Two years ago, I spent to $200 to expedite some documents via UPS who has their own airplane and office in Algeria...it still took a week to arrive. He lives just outside of the capital of the country, too.

    .............................................................................................................................

My fiancé has a master's degree but works a high-stress shitty 54 hour/week $250/month administrative/IT job. He also has chronic fatigue and ADHD (and some Asperger's traits). He has definitely lived a sheltered life even by the age of 30. He doesn't have a car, so making appointments for the doctor, paperwork, and interviews is even more difficult.

Now we're fighting over whether or not the embassy will request his conscription papers, which they will...  Long story short, after he finished his master's degree in 2012, the military made a clerical error and forgot to request for his service afterwards, and he never corrected them. He was granted clemency on January Ist 2017, but he doesn't have a final clemency papers (i.e. the military card). He submitted an application to receive the military card (hopefully April 19th).

We've been together almost 3 years now. I love him so deeply and we've faced the grief of multiple family deaths together. However, this K-1 process is making me doubt his ability to live under U.S. bureaucracy. I doubt that he/we can handle this stress.

I have been true the algerian embassy recently and reading your post make me feel I am living in another country

-My fiance sent me a letter of afidavit of support : i got it in 15 days (normal post)

-Military card : they ask for it yes , i had to submit my exemption card at 30 years old i think he will be able to get it in 1/2 day

-translation : their's plenty of translator who are ready to translate your document in few days

-for the certificat of non mariage , i took with me 2 collegue from work , and i got it in 5 minute

-Medical exam : it was a smooth process , i did email them and they answread me with a date and all the shot that i need to take for the medical exam , i recieved the result 10 days after

-Interview: the algerian embassy is so easy , even tho I met my fiance one time for few days , we got approuved with no issue , not even front loading our petition
