  1. Bro you good.  Kind of overkill LOL.  I submitted basically the same evidence as you.  If you show up with your fiance for the interview, it's practically a lock going by what you have said.

During the super short interview, they asked my fiance one question...what was my job.  I don't even think they asked me anything at all.

Also, they "interviewed" my fiance alone...I was told to have a seat nearby in the waiting area in front of the booths.  After like a min she gave me a thumbs up and I went up to the booth and said thanks and we left.

  2. Hey everyone.  It's been awhile since we have received any updates.  I think we are just waiting for an interview date at HCM.  Our documents were approved by NVC FEB 2023.  The priority date for this F22 case is 14 JUL 2021.

I'm not too sure on how to read the visa priority date bulletin.

Can anyone guesstimate on the wait for an interview?

    Thank you.

  3. Howdy, my wife is the petitioner in form I-130 for her unmarried child under 16.  It was recently approved and is processing in NVC currently.

My question is she is awaiting her 10 year green card and her current card is long expired.  She is hesitant on making that trip for the interview without the 10 year green card in hand.

Does she have to attend the interview for her child or can I or a family member over there attend with her child?

I am sorry if this is confusing.  I tried to word the situation as best I can.  Thank you for your help.

  4. Howdy all.  We would like to bring over my wife's son to America soon.  My wife currently is a permanent residence (10 year visa pending we just got the NOA1 from I-751 that extends 18 months).  My question is that can she sponsor her son?  Which form do I have to get started on with this process?  Thanks so much for everyone's help.

  5. If you have online access to your bank, most major banks have options to output the statement to a PDF so you can print the dates you need.

As for the letter of employment, your HR department will have one drafted on file in a template and they will just include your name in.  It should be a simple request for them to fill and have it back to you same day.

  6. Howdy all, I would just like to triple check everything that needs to be in the package to remove condition on permanent residence.  From 2 year green card to 10 year green card correct?  This is the contents of my package that I will be sending out below, please let me know if I am missing anything:

    Form I-751

    Form G-1145

    Copy of Permanent Residence card

    Copy of Spouse ID

    Relationship Evidence

         Photos

         Marriage Cert

         Lease Agreement

         Mortgage Loan Agreement

Last 2 years IRS joint returns

Thank you all so much for your help.

Edit:  I have a question about the fees as well.  The form 751 has $595 fee and a $85 for biometrics.  DO I just include 2 checks with the separate amount or just one check with the total amount?

  7. Pictures during special occasions: birthday, valentines, christmas, easter, etc.  Cards from those holidays and birthdays could also be used.  The more the merrier.  Bury the interviewer with pictures LOL.  Head to your local CVS or whatever and develop your pictures form your phone (it's surprisingly cheap).  Then go through them and date it and put a short description on the back.  It could be a fun activity for the both of you.

  8. Hey just want to reassure you that the birth certificate is not needed if you have passport or cert of naturalization.

I was nervous as well because I had even less than you.  All I has was a passport and I was not going to shell out 500 bucks to get a copy of my Naturalization cert that I lost.  I had no issues with just my passport.  The reasoning behind this is you need a US birth cert OR cert of naturalization in order to get a US passport so any one of the three will prove you are a US citizen.

You should be AOK with what you submitted.

    Good luck with your application!

  9. Nice work an the analysis.  So OP is good to go and can use his current pay stubs to determine current year income.

As with most things here YMMV.  I used all figures from my prior year return when I filled out my forms.  Encountered no issues and was never asked any questions relating to my income on the interviews.

My understanding is that eligibility is based on current and future income....income which will continue in the US......not past tax filings.....

I'm not so sure about the future income part because that can be difficult to assess in certain situations.

My money is that they would take the easiest route to determine the annual income amount...which is to take prior year tax filling.

Proof of current income is just to show employment and possible changes that would adjust your prior year's income amount.

Prior year filling is really the most reliable way to quantify your annual income.

On what do you base this statement?

I am basing this on common sense.  If OP has filed a US tax return in 2017 and did not work in the US in 2018 and is unable to provide verifiable income in Vietnam, then USCIS would only have 2017 data and his current employment data to base their decision on.  Apology if this is incorrect?

  12. It's going to be tough to find someone with your exact situation that can shed some light.

From my experience and what I have gathered being on here, work history and current employment are what is most important.

Can you provide tax transcript prior to 2018 that would help substantiate your work history?

Do keep records of any pay stubs moving forward as this will be what they will be reviewing for your income.

Lastly, I wouldn't sweat this too much, just provide everything that you are able to that shows work history and current employment and you will be fine.  The last full year you have verifiable work with income will be the benchmark they use to determine eligibility.  If you have no work history prior, they will use your current pay stubs and employment to determine your income.

  13. I have completed the process up to receiving "green card" for my wife so far.  None of the steps including the K-1 interview at HCMC was "hard"

The real hard part is getting ALL needed documents and having backups for any documents that you send.  if you are doing it yourself make sure you included everything each application is asking for and double check all your entries.

A summary sheet in the beginning of any packet/application you send with a checklist of everything is a good way for you to double check your list; make sure you include this summary sheet when sending things to DHS

If you relationship is legit, the interviews will be a a joke.  Both the K1 and the adjustment of status interview for me and my spouse they asked us a couple questions individually and make sure the answers aligns.  From what I have seen, this line of questioning is similar across most cases.  Probably the most important part is how the two of you communicate...looks like you are not a native speaker...can your spouse speak english or do the two of you meet in the middle somehow.

SO in short...none of the process so far was hard. Just have to be very detailed about everything you send in with your application.  During the interview, if you or your spouse dont know something, say I do not know.  Never try and lie.

That's all the advice i can give at this time.

    Good luck : )
