Thank you so much to everyone for the responses. I am going to bring up the subject of counselling, so I guess at least then will have evidence to show we did try. We have tried communicating just by ourselves but it ends up with one of us getting worked up. So, if I first try the counselling then we decide to divorce, we do so on agreed intentions jointly that it just didn't work out. We file for divorce then when it is time to apply for ROC, I just send in the paperwork for the divorce?

The bold above is somewhat telling

Yes, it was on my mother’s behalf.

Darn, you continue to ask questions about multiple applicants..mother..son. Confusing the heck out of everyone on this forum.

Quoting a longtime member "Would have been helpful if you’d said that in the beginning. Even better if he created his own account and posts his own questions. It doesn’t cost anything."

Hi guys, can someone answer my question with the best and experienced response. The question is that I don’t have no photographs with petitioner( My mother) to bring along to US Embassy when the interview comes up . Does anybody know what other documents will be helpful in place of photographs  to prove my bona fide relationship with my mother who is the petitioner for my case.I am deadly worried for not having photographs available!help would be appreciated!THANKS!

Last month you stated being a permanent resident seeking to ROC

  4. 3 months to attend "some" business meetings?

According to posts in other forums, a retired CO understood that to be usually a thinly-guised attempt to enter the US and code or seek H1B etc.

Any company that sends employees on business demonstrates clearly why they need to send that individual(s) to the US, and not just for "..various business meetings with various clients, stakeholders, business partners.."

francesmamaI would like to know that for how many days did u plan to go for the States?

Another individual's itinerary has no bearing on your application. You or your company has to document why they need to send you for a 3-mo stint in the US.

But i am not able to understand why this case has taken so much time. i mean it was filed in 2004 and its expected to become available in 2020. why is it taking 16 years? generally it doesn't take that much of time

Immigrant visas for non-Immediate Relatives (such as siblings) have a numerical quota. There are only 65,000 visas available for siblings of US citizens, and that's worldwide. India has a huge backlog of people waiting in your category, and the volume keeps increasing each year.

The US government prioritizes reunification of US persons with their spouses and children and parents over siblings and nieces/nephews.

Who knows, she might decide she does want to live in the USA eventually , doesn’t she have the right to visit it first ?  I believe everyone should be able to visit a place before they decide to move there. It would be foolish otherwise.

A visit visa is a privilege, not a right.

  8. Airline is unlikely to issue a boarding pass with an expired passport.

Best to contact the embassy and seek an emergency passport or a short term travel document for a fee. Most embassies have contingencies for expedited passport issuance, this may qualify as an emergency. i539 carries significant risk.

My father had filed the I 130 on my behave. He is a naturalized US citizen.  The petition was approved and now I have been contacted by the NVC to submit the documents and proceed further. Since filing my petition, my father has retired and moved back to Pakistan.

What type of Visa do I qualify for? And any idea how long it will take to submit the documents and by when will the interview be scheduled?

Anyone who recently migrated to the States from Pakistan and can help me out? How to go about getting the degree, inter and o levels certificates attested?

Okay, I think the confusion here is that my father had moved back for good. That is not the case. He has ties to the US

Retired and moved back translates to moved back for good.

Ties, by themselves, aren't enough. He needs to "move back" to the US to be eligible to sponsor you.

Oh okay.  I'll do that. So wait, i won't upload it to CEAC, but my beneficiary should have it on her physically at the interview?

Also, i myself have a new job that i just got two months ago.  Can i bring some type of evidence for this?

I am also working towards becoming certified for a certain career.  I'm very close.  I should be done in about 1-4 months.  After that, the likelihood that I land a job in this career (which pays $70,000 +) will be very high.  Is this stuff meaningful to them?  If so, should I give them evidence of that (my official test scores) too?

I also am a Certified Public Teacher, and that is my back up career.  Should I bring evidence of this (my certification)?

None of all the things mentioned above would be looked at.

Applicant takes all originals to the interview, incl the i864 and PCC. The CO would make a visa determination at the interview.

I mean for your pr status.  Can you have the LPR card and PR card? Can you still live in Canada even because youd be a US resident not a Canadian one.

That's an oddity I've seen discussed on a couple of India-centric forums. A number of Indian nationals have Canadian PR status while living in the US as LPRs or on H1Bs. I've never quite understood how someone could be a permanent resident of two nations if living more than 6 months of a year in one country is a must. Should be: choose one or the other.

OP, what country passport do you have?

It's legally for our community legally in the place where we are living but not accepted for immigration purpose.

To be a straight in talk does not mean to be rude

    No one is rude.

Several members have told you the legal requirements to obtain a marriage certificate. It has to be issued by a government entity and not by a religious entity.

Thing is rn this ..should we send inquiry about IRS extension to US embassy that we cannot get available transcript right now to show you aa joint sponsor has taken extension time

You have to understand the reason why the embassy requires a sponsor.. that sponsor is financially responsible for your family once in the US. The US government doesn't want a new immigrant to be on welfare, paid by US taxpayers. Hence the requirement that whoever is financially sponsoring immigrants has the funds/income to support them. The transcript is an official document that shows actual income and actual taxes paid.

And until your family obtains the transcript, no one is getting a visa.
