  1. My wife just had her Infopass appointment just yesterday and the process was smooth. We are in Miami, Florida. We called this past Tuesday and got a call back on Thursday for a next day appointment (Friday). I was very surprised at how quickly we got the appointment. Perhaps next time you call you can tell them you are willing to travel wherever there is an appointment. Traveling from the West coast to Miami is a long trip, but you would have to think there are offices closer than Miami that have appointments. Good luck!
  2. Hey! No, she was not asked for any evidence. They only asked her why she needed the stamp and she said she needed to visit her mother who is old and sick. That being said, if you do have any documentation, i would take it anyways just in case. I think these appointments can vary depending on who is the person that sees you on the day of your appointment. Perhaps they will ask you for something. If you have it take it!
  3. My wife just got back from her Info Pass appointment today. We were seeking an extension to her Temp GC and they stamped her passport with the I-551 with a 1 year extension. The process was very easy for those thinking and wanting to schedule one. I called this past Tuesday Sept 6th and after waiting for about 25 minutes a very nice lady took all our information. She said they'd call us within 30 days. Well, for us they called us back in TWO days and gave us an appointment for the next day which was today! They only let one person in so I didn't see first hand, but my wife was in and out in 10 minutes with her passport stamped. All they asked was the reason to which my wife responded she needed to visit her mother who is old and sick in Dominican Republic. No more questions and stamped her passport. Anyone considering and/or needing an Infopass appointment just do it. We didn't wait until 30 days prior to her GC expiring and they still gave us an appointment. (GC expires Oct 24th). Good luck.
  4. Update: I called USCIS on Tuesday Sept 6 to request an InfoPass Appt. The nice lady took my information and told me we'd get a call within 30 days to schedule the appointment. Lo and behold they called me 2 days later (Thursday Sep 8th) and gave us and appointment for next day (today)at 7:40am. My wife was in and out in 10 minutes with her passport stamped with an I-551. They extended it for 1 year. Thank you "Old User" for your advice. For those thinking about an InfoPass appointment just do it.
  5. Congratulations!! Mine was filed 12/15/20 keeping my fingers crossed that it's coming up soon for us. Although I'm in the dreadfully long Potomac Service Center. If you can share something about your interview that would be great. Again congratulations.
  6. Great. Looks like I will have to do this. Thank you for the information Yoh !!
  7. Reading some of your comments what I thought was the case is true. Potomac Service Center has longest processing time! My wife's I-751 recieved date is Dec 15, 2020. We did Bio's in May 2021 and haven't had an update since. What really stinks is that we booked a cruise for November and my wife's 24 months expires in October. We booked it and honestly didn't remember about checking the expiration dates. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we can get an Info Pass appointment and get the stamp (I-551). Anyone here had any luck with Info Pass appointment yet? Do I need to wait until we are closer to 24 months expiring before attempting to make an appt?
  8. Yes we are also waiting and on the same boat. What happens if extension expires and we still don't have an approval. Our Received Date was 12/15/20 and my wife had her Biometrics on 5/4/21. Only notification after that for us was an update stating "Name was Updated on 5/12/21, about a week after Biometrics was completed. Haven't really heard from anyone from Potomac Service Center. Wonder if there are others as well from there. My worry is that my wife's 24 month extension letter expires on October 24, 2022. What happens if she doesn't get her I751 approved by then? Does she automatically get an extension? We purchased a cruise without even thinking of her Residency and now I'm worried because it is scheduled for November. Any others out there? Does someone know if USCIS send and automatic extension if they see they are unable to approve it by the expiration date?
