I had the same error when I first paid my AOS fee. But the payment status showed "in process" although nothing was deducted from my account. Then the next day it went back to pay again and it worked fine.

I'm have a big wedding ceremony in my wifes country at the beginning of next year for her family, and my friends are coming too, but its mostly her family.

I wasn't sure if I should include that information because I was worried they'd question the marriage.

NVC doesn't require you to do that but some people do. I strictly sent financial and civil documents as that's all they state on their website. 

I'm sure it doesn't even take them an hour to review once it reaches their desk. All they do is check for completeness lol. Ironic.

My AOS shows paid today, 3days after payment. IV still in process but I paid it yesterday so by next week hopefully.

Haha it's not that bad, it hasn't been a week since I got my case # and I submitted my papers today, they should be scanning them next week

It's 11 weeks from the moment they receive your papers and scan them in the system. The waiting time before that doesn't really count

They gave you the invoice number? If they did you can try logging on your ceac account and see if it lets you do the agent part and maybe the AOS fee.

It was approved yesterday after 255 days. Boy has this been one helluva wait. Feels like ten thousand pounds have been lifted off my back. The hardest part is over. Hang in there guys it will happen. Sending positive approval vibes to all. 

Congratulations! It does feel like a relief although NVC gets a little tedious too lol

Some people get the "sent to dept of state" notification bypassing the approval status. I personally received the approval and also the "sent to dept of state" notification. So what I understand is when they approve it's sitting at USCIS until they ship to NVC. But some people dont get the dept of state notification, so it's random.

DS-261 was already reviewed and AOS fee was paid, still shows in process but it was deducted from my account.

If you're talking about Part 5, you should put 1 on Item #1 and nothing on Item #3 because that's if she was NOT sponsored in that affidavit, and she is. So it would be 1 on Item #1 and 1 on Item #2 (yourself), totaling 2.

That's what I'm planning to do.. the maintenance message I'm able to see was from yesterday. What I find weird is that when I paid it gave me an error but it still showed "in process". Makes me wonder if whatever went wrong they fixed it during maintenance and hence my payment wasn't supposed to show in process because of the error message.

I just want to make sure I dont pay twice because the first time it showed "in process" and I could see it on the receipt tab but now all of that disappeared.

Thanks. My checklist cover sheet also doesn't state passport pictures anywhere. Does that mean I don't have to send them to NVC and I just have to bring them to the interview?

For example, the top 2 are the ones generated on the ceac website, and the bottom one is what I received on the welcome email. 

Would it be ok if I send the IV and AOS packet with the Document Cover Sheet that I received on my welcome email (the one with the checklist of all required documents) OR am I supposed to also print the cover sheets generated when the fees are paid?? Somebody help please because these two cover sheets are completely different 😞

@cleon86 I finally got to the stage where I can see this. How many of this "document cover sheet" on the fees tab do I need? Is it one for the whole NVC packet or one per beneficiary/petitioner packet?

I am so confused and going crazy reading. I received my welcome email with both checklists for the AOS and the IV fee (they both say the same thing).

1. I am supposed to use one cover sheet on each packet, marking with X the ones that apply depending on whether it's the beneficiary or the petitioner packet, right?

2. I found out that there's also another cover sheet that's generated when you pay for the fees. Right now my AOS payment is in process but I can still see the document cover sheet that has the barcode and address where the packet has to be sent.

3. If I want to send my packet without waiting to process the IV fee, how many of this second cover sheet do I need? I've read you can use it for both the AOS and IV packet but I am so confused since I thought the only cover sheet needed was the one sent in the welcome email.

I see. Apparently mine went through cause it shows on the receipts tab and it even says the transaction date and time. Hopefully that's the case.

So I went ahead and completed my DS-261 and now it shows "complete". I went to pay the AOS fee and it asked for the bank information but when I clicked to submit it I got an error message that said: 

"There are one or more errors with your submission. Please correct the areas indicated below. Once completed, click the Make Payment button to continue: An error occurred while submitting your payment. Please try again later" and blah blah blah.

They say it takes 2 to 3 business days to process the payment but I'm not sure..
